New weapons
What?! Wouldn't you just die, making the special for zamorak's weapon pretty much useless? I don't think that's what you mean, so correct me if i misread, or if you mistyped.

What runescape lacks the most.
Yes, runescape lacks a storyline. The reason i quit runescape was because I found it way to boring doing "fetch" quests and monotonous leveling, along with many other points which i won't elaborate on. (ps, don't use my sig against this statement, because it's only a joke). If you ever played a RPG game, entirely based on a storyline, you'll find that it's much more fun to keep playing. That's why runescape should put in a new type of quest. It would be an RPG inside an MMORPG. You would be teleported into an entirely new quest world, a seperate RPG. I was thinking that since it would be better to put you in the RPG quest world alone, that you would have to download it instead of playing it directly on the java client. I don't know if any of you have played some good storyline RPG's, but to me those are really fun and worth the time playing, even if it means staying up until 5 in the morning :). I've even played some old school RPG's made by some people, and they were really good (some had really good mapping skills). Anyways, what i'm trying to say is that Runescape lacks a storyline, and that's what makes Runescape a little boring at times. Members especially deserve this, as they pay for entertainment. I haven't got the imagination to make up one of these RPG quests, as it would take a LONG time as well. Say, 1-2 weeks nonstop typing. But if any of you has a good storyline, or any suggestions, you can post it here. Thanks.

Limited trial for f2p...could it happen!?
That's nicely said. I forgot about the people who can't pay due to location and such. About the other free games mentioned, are they also online? And is the software also free? Do you consider those games better than RS? I like the way Outsanity says things. Maybe it's because outsanity is the opposite of insanity :) lpinkus Yes yes yes, they are ALL free. SOME of them, however, use an item shop, which allows you to buy certain items, (speed up, attack increase, etc) that you cannot get from the game. Yes, their graphics are 100 times better, yes their music is 100 times better, and yes their all online. But for some, their pc specs can't match up to these games, so they play runescape instead. IMO, i don't think the majority of gamers around the world have a FAIRLY good pc, and it's not their problem. To them, runescape would probably be the best choice for a game. I'm not saying that ALL people who have a good computer play other games than runescape. I'm not also saying that runescape is probably the crappiest game ever, and only people with low end comps play it. I'm simply saying that IF there was a trial, not many would bother to play runescape. I suggest that you check some of those games out. I don't think you can post links in this forum, so once again, ill give you the names of it and you can type it in google. -Gate to Heavens(Lineage 2 clone, well sorta) -Kal online -Knight online -Do online -Gunzonline(mmofps,VERY fun, to me :D ) -Iron wars(mmofps, one of the best gundam like mech mmofps) -Supreme Destiny -Mu online(i think it's like runescape, with a premium user benefits, such as more weapons and maps) -R.O.S.E.(there's a rumor from a fansite that it's going p2p, but its probably just a rumor. Very fun and cute graphics, anime style.) -Xiah -Freeworldonline -Gunbound(mmofps, but very popular) -Rubies of Eventide -Dragon Raja (i think it's in korean, but if it is, there will most likely be an english version) -Rakion(still in beta, english will come out soemtime this year, can't wait...) -Myth of Soma -Priston Tale ( i heard most of the people who play don't speak english, but oh well, you could give it a go, looks pretty cool) -Storm Riders online -Thang online *Note, i've only listed like HALF of all of the free 3D(most i think) games out there, and possibly even less because lots of new games come out every friggen year, and are still in alpha testing and stuff. Feel free to check those out if you want.

Player names that should be banned.
Hmmm, i think the word "ball" should have an exception because, well...some people might type in baseball548? But i agree that it should have a filter in the name creation fields as well. I've seen it in other games, so runescape should have it too. Good idea.

Farewell to Runescape.

Unarmed training for magic and ranged
You just made my point yourself, but I'll reiterate it. This idea would too much easy xp, even if it's a small amount. And a small amount still has a pretty big effect on getting lvls 1-10. That's why I think actually picking up the rocks is necessary-it keeps you from getting levels too fast. By the way, if you wish this to be *purely* for fun, like the rubber chickens (no xp, no damage), then fine, no inventory slot :) lpinkus Before i quit RS, i went to wildies wiith my rubber chicken, and i hit a 5 on a lvl 80 :/. Anyways, i thought of something better. Maybe the rocks won't give exp, but when you throw them, 5% of the time it will stun the opponent, and he/she will have mooses flying over their head. They cannot attack or move, and they can't be attacked either. You can only do this in the wilderness. Wait, maybe we can turn this into an entirely new game. ROCK WARS!!!! Yes, an arena full of rocks on the ground, only this time you can do damage on other people. Last runescaper standing wins.

Limited trial for f2p...could it happen!?
Are any of these other games free? Just curious. I would say the time it took for me to be really "hooked" was one month. lpinkus Yup, ill name some of them if you want. Gateway to heavens, knight online, kal online, supreme destiny, gunzonline(mmofps),etc etc...there's alot more but forgot i'll have to check the list again...

Anti-Follow option
or you could have a noob fight, OR take them into the wildies.

Ranger Armor
Didn't f2p just get 2 new bows and 2 new arrow types? And besides, mages are so weak against me in the wildies. I had 71 str and 64 ranged and i usually wore full dragon hide and carried a short bow and rune scimy, that way i would switch in between when the mages turned on a particular prayer. Trust me they willl be frustrated and have a severe mental breakdown and eventually their body will suffer from a seizure and they'll fall onto the ground from the chair with their hands in the air still clicking from the prayer change dilema, letting you take control of the fight and win. Mages wouldn't try the switchy thing on anyone because they know better than to reset their spells to auto, or manually click and select target on their enemy. Also, i went melee with full rune once and a ranger owned me. If you play your stats right, then you won't have a problem. The armor doesn't really make a HUGE difference, but just provides some defense against hits. I've seen lvl 50 pures wear full monk robes and a rune scimy and own a 60 with full rune. ALSO, those pure noobs with full monk are usually weak against rangers like me who use the switchy technique.

Death animations
i know...and i just thought of something even better. Maybe when you kill a monster, you will get a random heavy blow on the monter and it'll break in pieces and dissolve into the ground. OR you could have the monsters fall like a brick wall and have its soul with devil wings and fly down towards hell. Just a suggestion.

saws
I think what this guy is trying to get at is that saws should be introduced into runescape so that people can saw each other in half and earn money for small magic shows.

Limited trial for f2p...could it happen!?
That's going to be a VERY long trial, say at least 3/4 to 1 year. If it's only like a 1 week trial then i wouldn't even play the game. Nor would anyone else i bet, considering the other 50+ mmorpg's with much better graphics and gameplay that i know of. Not saying that runescape sucks, but you know what i mean. Just can't see it happening, ever.

Cocoa bean trees and making chocolate bars.
I think that maybe JaGeX should make a new system to allow players to buy the boxes of food (chocolate bars, powders, cheese, tomato, etc.) at a high price, plus shipping and handling of course. Maybe the shipments could come in once a week, at a particular time. You must order it first, 1 week prior to shipment arrival, and then you must pick it up when it comes. The longer you delay your arrival to pick up the stock, the prices will increase. You can buy them at 50 items per box/crate. Yes, just some silly idea i came up with my sore arms and fingers after 5 hours of garden work.

sleeping
I agree with Bubs, as usual. I never played runescape during the Fatigue era, but I think I'd like the current system better. Both might be fine, tho, where you could sleep to restore your energy faser. Or nap, actually :) lpinkus Besides, it might give younger players the wrong idea when "multiple" players are using the same bed...And...salty monkey nuts?...never heard of it.

climbing over fences/things that get in teh way
Lol. That sure sounds like a new fighting sytle to me. It also sounds like what you see on ESPN when football (American football) is on a local network :) I don't care for this breaking through obstacles thing, but if it did happen, who is fixing the wall after you break through? Or the fence? Or the locked door/gate? And, after you go through, can someone else come through behind you? For how long? These are things JAGeX would have to consider. By the way, if you want to fix the wall yourself, guess what? New skill: bricklaying :) "You barge the lathe with your trowel" lpinkus Nah...it would go under carpentry still. i think. Also, you don't have to fix it yourself. If you do, however, you will gain some carpentry exp. If you leave it as it is, broken, then it will regenerate.

Castle Gear
Well, i thought that it would be neat if you could build a castle gear, aka a giant wooden machine powered by magic. Once you get in the castle gear your armor and weapons will be unequipped. The castle gear's abilities are being able to pick up large objects scattered on the ground (barrels, boxes) and throw them at others. Castle gear is a good defense against magic, but is considerably weak against melee and arrows above the rune class. I might upload some graphics and more details later but ya i basically came up with this because i wasn't thinking and made a topic already posted because i didn't use the "search" button. :wall:

climbing over fences/things that get in teh way
How about after the carpentry skill comes in, you will have the skill to break through obstacles. It also depends on your strength on what types of obstacles you can break. Like if it was a brick wall you would need 80+ str in order to break it with your head.

Death animations
Yes, a very good idea. I think the monsters or humans should drop on their knees, wobble a bit, then hit the ground.

Beggars at any level...
When i quit i asked my lvl 100+ friend who had over 100 mil worth of phats and items, if he wanted 1 mil. He said "sure" and took it. He was broke at that time so that's probably why. Also, i had a friend who consistently lost rune armor and weapons, but because i had the money i gave him the replacements for free. He wanted to pay back and once he said he would, but i said no. He never asked but i offered it to him, only because he wasn't just a friend, but a best friend in real life :). So ya, what i'm trying to say is that if someone offers you something that you need, then accept, but if you don't need it, then don't. It makes the giver a reason to be happy that they're helping someone out. But if that someone is a noob begger then...i dunno.

Shop Rental Idea
Not really a new idea. I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned about a thousand times since the stalls were put in the varrock market without any actual function. The problem isn't the idea. The idea is good. It's been implemented in games like UO. Don't feel stupid. There are basically two problems with the implementation. 1. It'd be a real tactical nightmare to program, because you can't just change a system that's already in place a little bit. It would mean a really big overhaul. 2. It'd increase the size of the database for the characters by a huge amount. Think about it...you'd need to add fields for every thing the person is selling, the selling value, blah blah blah. Huge increase in database size= slowing down of game. Which is why runescape should start to go with a engine where you have to download and install, like the other big MMORPG's. (Gate to Heavens, Roseon, etc.)

Different color for one's own damage
That's alot of colors...well, overall in runescape that is. Maybe if you could only see the damage done by you?

Castle Wars, Can It Be Better? I have Suggestions....
FFA in an FPS, especially on gunzonline, is the best. It gives endless hours of fun, especially if you just want time to kill. Ya, back on topic. Not a bad idea. Never played castle wars...but the idea sounds good itself.

Late night 'scapin...
Back when me and my friends still played runescape, we used to go pking at 3 in the morning with full iron and a rune scimy. We owned.

Summoning Monster Pets :)
1. Yes, they will be untradable. 2. Runescape can divide certain areas in which the lvl of monsters can be hatched. 3. Yes, you can get eggs from guards. There's a little magic involved since it has magic requirements, so you gotta use your imagination. 4. I'm assuming you mean EVERY kind of monster. Well, almost every monster will drop an egg, only the ones that are ONLY slayable in a quest will NOT drop an egg. 5. The drop of eggs will be rare, but not as rare as getting a rune med from a lesser demon or a half dragon shield. 6. Yes, the monsters can be hatched in the wild as well. You CANNOT bring a monster that has already been hatched into the wild. You can hatch a monster in the wild, but you also must travel into the wilderness according to what lvl the monster is, regardless of how much strength it has gotten from your stats. Note that if you hatch it WITHOUT the lvl requirements, you will likely get attacked by it. If you kill the monster, it will not give any experience points, nor will it drop items. Once the monster is hatched under your control, assuming you met the requirements, then it will fight alongside you. However, all monsters in the wild will have their defense reduced by 50%. You can also only hatch one at a time. Hope that answers your questions.

Summoning Monster Pets :)
Runescape is proposing to put in summoing?! i guess i gotta read the announcements and stuff before i make any more ideas then. Hehe if you ever need reminding, go onto the forums page and the future updates board. There's a sticky of what's coming. It's handy actually because I forget a lot of the things Jagex propose, so I can't blame ya. Thanks, I'll check that out before my next post. And yes it'd be fun to hatch a KQ in lumbridge without the magic lvl requirements, and see it go kill noobs. But it won't be fun for them. :(
