Why you so against swords? Its the best PvP and PvE spec, rolled into one. Really the only PvP specs that are good you have left to chose from are 41/20 and 30/0/31. 41/20 becomes useless later on in raiding (kara it is fine for) and 30/0/31 you don't even want to think about raiding with it. I just love daggers, I don't know why. I wouldn't even dream of raiding in a new spec. I might go and do 5 mans and heroics but I won't bother with raiding - I just can't be a cutting-edge rogue, and you need to be, to be wanted. Gonna do a heroic mech tomorrow in this spec, just to grab the 5 badges and get the dps neck piece, and then I'm off to respec.

Unless something gets changed you'll probably be just an OT as a bear tank, maybe MT in kara. Also get a good sword and go combat swords. Bam, a raid spec and PvP spec. Or go 41/20 if you're still dinking around kara. OT is fine, I just want to raid. And I'm not going swords. Never ever.

I am on the verge of speccing out of my useless raid spec and going full pvp. I can't do this, I just don't have the skill to lay down sustained dps. My first experiences of tanking as a druid (at 25, so it isn't a true indicator) are good, so I want to keep working on it and maybe in the future raid as a bear. Meh, I'm actually pretty damn depressed about it.

You've abandoned your Blood Elf hunter?! Let me know how the druid works out. Got one to forty awhile back. A long time ago.. did two weeks of AB and WSG at 29 and then shelved her. Why? You didn't think the hunter was good, or it just wasn't fun? My hunter was one of my favorite twinks to play, they can do so much. No, it was ALOT of fun. I'd never top the charts, but always would be right at the top, and I'd usually have the least amount of deaths. Plus, I have a Boar on that character, and it's BM spec, so it's pretty much a PvP machine. At the end of the day, I was more interested in progression on my rogue.

Hahaha, I'm leveling a druid alt as well atm, probably a tank cause there's always a need for them. Although if they're looking at the 1-60 leveling, I might hold back a bit and wait for the new expansion. It's not gonna be for a long time, so I wouldn't worry - I am having fun with it at the moment so I'm not bothered. Sitting pretty on 22 at the moment. The fun thing about levelling again is having the LocalDefense messages pop up, and being able to relog and destroy the attackers. Hehehehe. :twisted:

I've decided I need a second 70, so I'm playing my old Nelf Drood alt. 19 at the moment, and not stopping to do any BG's.

Just looked at your armory, found a biiiiiig problem. Get a much faster OH man, 1.9 speed is slow! Find a 1.4 speed or less dagger and put it in your OH, that will help. As combat daggers you'll probably do a 1s/3s/5r combo, which means 1cp SnD, 3 cp SnD 5 cp rupture and repeat. Ah yeah I know about that. I had my daggers switched around before but the lead rogue in my guild told me that even with the speed difference, it's better to have the Ripper on my MH. I just need to change the OH, and I've started doing 5v5's for the Shiv. We got 350 points in our first week, so it's not too bad of a start.

I'm just having so much trouble getting into raid positions - I simply can't put down the kind of DPS that's needed for the new content (new for the guild, at least). I just don't know what I am doing wrong. I might reroll, or just quit, that's how down I am with it.

No, but unless you get into a good group, it might be. :( Honestly, Deadmines is a cool instance. It's fairly lengthy (at that level it is at least), and introduces you to how instance dungeons work in the game. It's a steep learning curve, but it's fun, and worth it.

How good are they? Love those leggings, most rogues I know look at them with awe. They never drop, they all say, but they dropped for me first try.

Damn, what happened here? Haha. My guild raids 4 or 5 nights a week at the moment, and we have 3 Karazhan teams (2 on farm, 1 progressing). With Gruul's Lair runs happening once a week at the moment, most of us still do have time for lives. Life and this game are not mutually exclusive.

Being a raiding rogue is tough, no matter which way you look at it. Sure, you don't have buffs to give, but that's really only a small part of it. Unless you are a very very good rogue, and your DPS is very hot, you are essentially being carried through the instance. Later on in Karazhan as well, some of the bosses aren't exactly melee DPS-friendly. Don't be discouraged though; we're still the most fun of all the classes, in my opinion, and when you do get on top of it, you will be one of the first invites to the raid group. [*:tw2wd7cl]Read strats, and know what your role in each fight is. [*:tw2wd7cl]Bring your own potions and bandages, and make yourself less of a mana-drain. [*:tw2wd7cl]Work on your gear and techniques in 5 man content, especially Heroic instances. [*:tw2wd7cl]Gimp other stats for +hit rating and +attack power - those gem bonuses are rarely worth keeping, so replace stuff with +ap and +hit gems. [*:tw2wd7cl]Use an addon like Omen or KTM and learn how to control your aggro. As complex and difficult as it is, stick with it and you will enjoy it so much more than being a healbot or a meatshield, or whatever the other classes do (lol).

Yikes. This is why most guilds are, well, crap. Don't worry, you're keyed and have half at least a brain, you will find a good one.

I really like the Netherspite fight, since as a melee dpser, it's kinda easy. You just switch in and out of the green beam with another melee, and keep chipping away at it. So long as we get our part right, its up to everyone else to kill him.

Good luck, it's overwhelming at first but within a few weeks you'll be completely confident.
