Why does everyone say that Firefox is better than Opera?
biox replied to runescape_rocks's topic in Tech and Computers
My main reason for using Firefox (and the original Mozilla before it) in the first place was that IE wasn't secure and Opera came with built-in ads. I have used Opera a little and I am with Pyro; the UI sucks. It just doesn't feel right. Having said that, I'm sure I would grow used to it. There is the OpenSource argument too; how can someone put a patent or copyright on an idea? -
Precisely. :P I'll get a few pics of it and post them soon. Edit: Here we go.. Notice the height. I am around 2kms from the tower, and this is the best position so far. Here you can see how simple it is - look how much time I spent on it (like, 7 minutes). Amber light! I could only ever get solid red before.. next goal is green.

It's not the same thing - I'm talking about broadband over a transmitted signal.. Anyways I was just excited about getting such a good signal, lol.. nvm me.

I use wireless broadband provider here in Australia, and I know these exist across the globe. I'm wondering if anyone else reading this uses such a provider, and if you do, does it use Navini products, such as the wireless modem (commonly known as a "wabbit")? Do you have problems with reception, timeouts, latency, etc etc etc? If you are still answering yes, then keep reading. I may have a solution for you. While reading a broadband forum for Australian ISPs, I found a nifty little idea that really seems to work - the pizza box reflector. http://community.webshots.com/photo/183 ... 2265XFsISC I used the box the modem came in - it's roughly 30cm x 30cm in size, and once cut folds out nicely into the corner shape you need. A shoebox or something similar would work. Line it with aluminum foil. Go here and download the NavDiag tool: http://www.navini.com/pages/support/userdownloads.htm <- you'll notice it's provided in windows, Linux and Mac formats.. alot of companies have stuff to learn from this mob. Now, test your modem using the tool without the reflector in place. Lower reception readings would commonly be an absolute sync strength in the -90dBm's. Now put the reflector in place and keep rotating your wabbit until you find the best possible reading. I managed to get mine down to -86dBm from a max of 98 - that may not sound like much but it makes a huge difference. It all may sound stupid but I believe it works, and works very well.

I used to be really into trance.. Artists like Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Blank and Jones.. etc. I also liked UK hardhouse which started out in the early 90's as that cheesy big-bassline sound but evolved into a really hard style of trance. I actually dabble a little with music production myself, and have made a few trance songs: .com.au/biox/]http://www[extension not allowed].com.au/biox/

Yea, but that's logic. He has been shot before, what would you do if you had the money and you know you have been shot earlier. Move to a different country.
-
Now you see here, stranger.. This here's Firefox country, and we don't like your kind 'round these parts. So hows about you pack up and move along? (Nah, Opera is ok, its safe and fast like FF).

That's kinda what I was getting at..

Yeah, it will. Try it. :)

The dimensions of the image were 20 pixels too big, so it wouldn't work. Here, I resized it for you, just paste this address into "Upload Avatar from a URL:" on your profile: http://img490.imageshack.us/img490/6868/1054rc.jpg

First Google hit: http://spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?t=3773 -
Kinda off-topic, but some of you may find it interesting (and probably relate to it).. My sister was searching the internet for some insurance quotes tonight and to her disappointment, hardly any of the scripts on the Aussie sites would work properly in FireFox. She asked me what to do and I told her to try IE ("Will it be secure?" she asked, proving that I've taught her well) and surprise surprise, they worked. In 2005 that's really lame.

It's not particularly hard to open regedit and press ctrl+f to search for anything you're not sure of.. You didn't really prove anything, apart from the HJT "bug" as you put it. -
Why did this thread turn into a discussion about 50? 50 Cent SUCKS.

I just got the new album by Blackalicious, it's called The Craft: http://www.blackalicious.com/audiovideo.php It's awesome. :D

From what I hear, in a couple of weeks/months it'll be so scratched that it won't matter what the colour is..
-
$50 a month for 1.5mb? Thats kinda expensive, isn't it? My internet (same speed) is only $30 a month. Not in Australia. :)
-
I think TPG would be about the best right now, my mate has 1.5mb with 20gig for $50/month.
-
You didn't list mine, I have fixed wireless. My home telephone line has ISDN installed on it, and I don't feel like paying the two to three hundred bucks to get it switched.

I wholeheartedly agree.. 50 Cent featuring Mobb Deep - Outta Control <- that's a good song, but not because of 50.. Mobb Deep is one of the true stars of the genre, always will be. I like hip-hop artists like Sage Francis, Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, Lyrics Born, Ugly Duckling, Lifesavas, Atmosphere, Blackalicious, The Roots.. There are some great UK MC's around too, like Roots Manuva, Ty, Dizzee Rascal. It may sound funny but we have a great scene here in Aus too, artists like Koolism, Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy, 1200 Techniques, Bliss n Eso.. and alot more.

The fact that I was offering it on a webserver that a mate gave me space on meant that I really should take it down.. if I was offering it on a private FTP I wouldn't have been so concerned, but my friend was nice enough to give me the webspace - I should only return the favor by keeping my files legal, eh?
-
Alright, took it the wrong way I guess.. I haven't looked at iTunes too in-depth (my sister has a Shuffle so I have at least seen it) but I assumes it uses an online database..?
-
Are you asking me to admit that I download music illegally?
-
I've always just edited my tags as I've listened to my mp3's, noticing one-by-one that they were named poorly - using winamp, that is.
-
The only problem is, unless you already have the MSJVM, you can only get it illegally. I did have the files on my old webspace, until someone pointed out they were quite illegal - I took them down shortly after.
