  1. Torrentspy (I only download legal torrents so shut up), news.com.au, Slashdot (but I never read it.. /. is boring nowadays), auscert.org.au for good measure, Trendmicro.. that's about it.
  2. Can't blame him for tryin' - I've given up and deleted my sister's username from the machine.
  3. Like I said, broken. I'm gonna format on the weekend and dualboot Linux. :P
  4. The classic old dialog box with "This computer is in use and has been locked". Lol, it can't be fixed.
  5. Chris: that didn't work. Here is the app; http://www.download.com/Customized-Wind ... g=pdp_prod
  6. Rick, Spiral; thanks for answering, but both of those entires don't do a damn thing. Something else is keeping the welcome screen from working, and I cannot see what it is.
  7. I did a silly thing, and installed a custom login program. As soon as I did, I decided I didn't want it, so I uninstalled it and forgot about it. Later that night I was burning a DVD while I was out, and my genius sister decided it was a good time to use the PC - thanks to the program, fast user switching and the welcome screen is disabled, so my before-mentioned genius sister decided to log me out. I googled the solution and fixed it (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ginadll.htm) but the Welcome screen and fast user-switching still won't work. I need it back, because my sister doesn't ask if she can use the computer or not - she just does. Any ideas?
  8. I used to run LS years ago Wyrm, it is a very good shell. I was thinking about using it when I read that BB does close to the same thing without too much hassle of config, or the risk of replacing system files. BB is easy - run the exe, and it works.
  9. No, it's Blackbox. Mementh, safe mode hung the machine too. I gave up, I'm dealing with it and looking for another theme to use with BB.
  10. I'm having a problem I've never encountered before with display properties. I'm currently using a shell extension application, and in order to make some of the themes function properly, I need to switch from Classic to XP style. Even with the application killed, and with no other programs running on the desktop, doing so hangs the machine. Short of formatting, I am at a loss to solve the problem. Does anyone have anything they could suggest?
  11. That looks quite good Rick, thanks.
  12. Do you really think I didn't try Google? Lol.. I did, and didn't have alot of luck. The most common Google hit was for commercial software, used for group messaging in business.
  13. Well I was gonna suggest exactly what you did. Some months ago I came home completely inebriated and proceeded to play my Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The next morning I got up to find it covered in scratches.. I took it to a video hire place nearby and they used a buffing machine to remove the scratches. Happy ending.
  14. I know these kinda apps exist, but I'm interested to know if anyone uses one. I use Skype often to call friends overseas, but I'd love a similar program that will send text messages in the same kind of way. Does anyone know of an app?
  15. Don't listen to her. Apart from the white hair, that is what she looks like. :P Maybe not so evil though..
  16. That's a good point actually.. Maybe both were created before GMail started allowing pop3.
  17. I installed two plugins, one for Firefox, another for Miranda-IM which would check two of my GMail boxes periodically. Now, the other day I noticed they stopped working, and the Miranda one gives this error: Cannot parse page! Either I have changed something or Google has.. anyone else noticed?
  18. Guys, this is getting way way WAY out of hand, again. It's getting to the stage where further restrictions may need to be placed on this forum. Stop messing it up for people.
  19. This is like Lenny and Carl, arguing in Moe's.
  20. I'm really glad to see someone posted something about this -- for the past two years I've started posts about this special day. For anyone who is wondering "wth!?" ANZAC is Australian and New Zealand Army Corps -- in the first world war, they were deployed to Gallipoli, on the coast of Turkey, as reinforcements for the British who were getting whooped. They landed on this day, the 25th of April, and the ensuing battle was one of the most bloodiest of the war -- something like 80% of all troops were killed. To commemorate, Australia and New Zealand have set aside the 25th of April to remember the ANZAC's, as well as veterans of other wars.
  21. Settle down. Ghjjf posted a thread after this one was created. I deleted it, because this thread was first. No posts have been deleted to alter the truth here - I have no bias towards ZF or DI.. or even to my own clan.
  22. THIS was the first topic about this war. POST HERE ONLY.
