  1. Here's a quick and dirty estimation. There will be a number of small errors, but it should give a good ballpark estimate on a large sample size. Since February 15, SUOMI has gained 920k rc xp. At approximately 59k rc xp/effigy, that's about 15 effigies. As he gained 5.5M attack xp in the same amount of time, we can estimate the new rate at 1 effigy/360k attack xp. If he averages 80k attack xp/hour, that's 4.5 hours/effigy, suggesting about a 4.5x reduction. We could also extrapolate this to average kills/effigy by making use of previous data. Back in November, shortly before maxing ranged, he had a 14/3 ratio of Ranged/HP xp. 1 HP xp corresponds to 4/3 damage dealt, while 1 ranged xp corresponds to 2 damage dealt. This means that the damage ratio was 7 ranged damage to 2.25 melee damage, or approximately 3:1. So when we see 2.1M hp xp, we can infer 1.6M melee damage and 4.8M cannon damage, for a total of 6.4M damage and 52500 crawlers killed, at an average of one effigy per 3500 crawlers. As they were estimated at about 1 in 800 at crawlers before, this is about a 4.5x reduction, about the same as what we saw above. The effigies/crawler ratio is, however, useless, in the sense that we don't really care about how many crawlers die. What we want to know is how the current rates compare to the old rates. From November 1 to December 31 last year, SUOMI gained 50M defense xp and about 40M rc xp. Since February 15, SUOMI has gained 5.5M attack xp and 920k rc xp. The old melee:rc ratio was 5:4, while the current ratio is 6:1. This is about a 4.8x reduction. Granted, a lot of this is imprecise statistics, but I think it's the best we can do with the data we have so far. Effigies have been reduced by approximately 75-80%, likely all the way across the board, for all monsters.
  2. While I see S U O M I has been gaining attack xp at a tremendous rate over the last few days, I can't help but wonder if that's really the most efficient thing to do. Given that Jagex just completely upset effigies and, as far as I know, nobody's collected enough data to be sure what the new rates are like, it may be better to do something else for a while until more information is in. A few weeks of woodcutting, for example, would be quite safe to do without any risk of wasting xp.
  3. Unnecessary. We can simply track his attack and rc xp and figure it out from there.
  4. It seems there's a good chance that Jake can (temporarily) regain the king of 200Ms title. He's about 70 days from 200M woodcutting and firemaking, which would leave him at 16 200Ms. While SUOMI is only about 60 days from 200M hp, bxpw can throw a big wrench in these numbers. Also, even if SUOMI is first to 16 200Ms, if Jake gets enough cash, he could get 200M herblore and construction very quickly. It'll be interesting to see what ends up happening over the next couple months.
  5. I suggested this idea a while back. I think it would be cool if "visible" xp was capped at 200m but then ranks could still change in any given skill based on invisible xp. This would work exactly the same as regular xp however when you looked your self up in the highscores it would just display as 200m. I think with would be entertaining because anyone competing for rank 1 in a skill would never know how far ahead the rank in front of them is. They could be 10k xp ahead, they could be 10m. However people that compete for permanent ranks would certainly not like this idea. Sorry for the old reply, but I am guessing the only easy change would be to increase the cap (visible or not) to around 214,7M ( (2^31 - 1) / 10). Any XP value is probably divided by 10 before it is displayed, this would be how for example the Gnome Agility Course gives you 86.5 XP, while still using an integer internally. Or, you know, just stop storing xp in tenths.
  6. Ah, so that's what explains his whooping 2016 ranged xp and 43k melee xp this week. Thanks for clearing that up.
  7. So which of them has 200M runecrafting? Or do you mean simply add one's xp to the other and see if it hits 200M? If the latter, no two people total 200M+ in all skills yet. If you take SUOMI as a given, then you also need someone with 98M+ summoning, and there are only 7 possibilities, none of whom also have 150M+ hunter and thieving except Jake, who doesn't have high enough crafting, farming, or runecrafting. Still, in 12 months, you won't even need two people to have all 200M.
  8. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that S U O M I will manage to snag rank 6 runecrafting, right at the very end of May. Assuming no major distractions like his prayer/herblore/construction month back when everybody thought he was about to get 200M slayer, of course.
  9. 200m all skills isn't bad, but the real endgame is 1b all skills. Jebrim's just working on it one skill at a time.
  10. 15153 hours and 30.7b cost. If that's the case, how come Roger Al needs another 30.9b? Maybe he does 2 hours of demonic thrones instead of mahogany tables. No, Gemeos is saying he needs 30.9b, Roger Al isn't saying that.
  11. 15153 hours and 30.7b cost. If that's the case, how come Roger Al needs another 30.9b?
  12. Given that neither Jake nor Jdelacroix are going for 200M all, I would say two of the top contenders are Elvis and Dapledo. Elvis is already over 3B xp and has a respectable amount of xp in slow skills (110M slayer, 80M rc), but I believe he's fairly young. There's a good chance he simply won't keep playing RS enough to go for 200M all.
  13. It's still a while away, but what are you planning on doing on the next bonus xp weekend, SUOMI?
  14. Ok first off, I am not sure if you have said this, but people have been saying that he should max RC and then start opening effigies with summoning. No. Not at all, that would be inefficient. He should stop using his lamps on RC after he uses 1802 more on RC and then he should switch and start using his lamps on woodcutting that way he will max RC and Attack at the same time. Here is the proof for that figure below. Now about farming. Based on the fact that over the past year (1/8/11 - 1/8/12) Suomi has done 77.5m Farming xp, and assuming it takes him about a year to max from now he will be about 20m shy of 200m farming when he has 200m everything else. So again efficiency comes in to play here. If you want to be efficient in terms of play time you would use all of the lamps on WCing and then when everything is maxed but farming you would just log in to do farming runs. But I am sure that one would want 200m all ASAP in real time. So if Suomi were to use all of the extra lamps on WCing and still want to max at the end of the year, he would have to do watermellon and torstol runs which are about 15k xp for 10 minutes of work, so about 90k xp/hr. Since 90k is less than the 140k you can get WCing it would be efficient to use about 20m worth of lamps on farming. However This just doesn't feel right. And since there is going to be a year passing here things may change. So what I would do personally is keep opening your effigies until you have like 185m attack xp, and then for the rest of the time until 200m attack open your effigies to the gorged stage and then bank them. You should have 350 in the bank when you get 200m attack then. This will also let you see how many you have to investigate WCing and farming and some insurance banked xp. At this point I would do thieving to like 180m and at this point if nothing has changed in farming or Wcing I would just use them on farming, but you could stall longer. Get up to 180m hunter now and then so the same with crafting and if still nothing has changed use them on farming. I did a similar analysis about a month ago, which I'll now quote here. The thing to keep in mind is that his farming rates are heavily skewed by the amount of effigies he's opening, so you can't lump all his farming together. SUOMI has indeed been sticking to a nearly constant pace during the month since I posted this. I just recalculated his xp rates and nothing's changed by more than 5%. I conclude that my previous analysis is still valid. The one question I didn't address before, which has just come up in discussion, is farming: if SUOMI finishes melees using effigies for woodcutting, will he still get 200M farming before maxing everything else? I'm going to assume everything else goes exactly as I described above. SUOMI will thus finish crawlering around July 15 with 163M farming xp, and will finish all other skills around December 21. Thus, the question becomes, can he get 37M farming xp in 160 days? That would require about 230k farming xp per day. When SUOMI's farming wasn't supplemented by effigies (December 2010-February 2011), he was averaging ~165k xp per day. So it would seem that he will not finish farming on time if he doesn't do any extra training of it. He would end up with 200M in everything else, but only about 190M farming. Granted, that would only take a week or so to finish off with trees + crawlers, but why spend an unnecessary week? Taking this into account, the most efficient way to max is thus to crawler to 190M runecrafting, then spend an extra 10M in lamps on farming (~210 effigies), then use the rest on woodcutting until 200M attack. He should still finish crawlers around July 15, but with the following stats: 200M Attack 200M Defense 200M HP 162M WC 100M FM 125M Crafting 53M Thieving 173M Farming 200M RC 52M Hunting This will slow him down slightly from my original estimate, but not much. It does seem that SUOMI needs a bit more farming xp to not be working overtime to finish that off last, but only an extra 10M xp. After that extra 10M xp, he can use the rest of his lamps on wc and still finish farming on time. Your rates are bit off. It is ill advised to use average xp rates like that. It is better to use larger sample sizes like my approach to the effigy numbers. However you made me realize an error in my conclusion about farming that I will have to redress tomorrow. Which of my rates do you think are off? All are based on runetrack data of periods spanning more than a month, so I'm not sure what you mean by implying that my sample size is too small. Edit: I'm aware I have some rounding errors in my investigating skills, but I consider those errors small and, moreover, irrelevant to the farming discussion.

  16. And why would he want to use the extra effigies on farming instead of woodcutting, which is far slower?
  17. I'm looking for a dungeoneering group to go from 82 to about 95 dung. I want a group that's relatively fast, but not an uber-efficiency team. Stats are in signature. Any recommendations?
  18. Actually on topic... SUOMI is now more than 500M xp ahead of Jake. A lead of half a billion xp is truly hard to comprehend.
  19. At this rate, SUOMI will be more than 500M ahead of Jake by the middle of next week. It's such a ridiculous lead.
  20. Thanks for the responses. I've done a bit of dragon killing and herb farming, enough to get a couple million. Now, I need to start making really massive amounts of cash without high end boss gear. Is getting 85 dung and going to Frosts my best bet, or is there something else I could do that might be better?
  21. I just came back to RS (again). My problem is that before I quit last time, I gave away quite literally my entire bank. So I'd like to hear any advice you have on how to quickly restart my account given that I have absolutely nothing to work with. I do have a good number of untradeables, including a chaotic rapier, full void, and thousands of each extreme pot, but absolutely no cash, nothing valuable in the bank, and no gear suited for boss hunting.
  22. I just took a look at SUOMI's gains over the last 19 days since he started crawlering full time, and here are the results. Average def xp per day: 960k Average hp xp per day: 500k Average xp per day in fm/craft/wc/hunt/thieving: 150k Average farming xp per day: 315k Average rc exp per day: 820k We can extrapolate from this to make guesses as to when SUOMI will hit some major milestones. SUOMI is nothing if not consistent, so we can anticipate these to be fairly accurate guesses. 200M Defense: January 23 200M HP: April 9 200M RC: May 24 200M Attack: July 15 On the other hand, if SUOMI intends to finish combat at crawlers, it would actually be best for him not to max rc right away, as he would then lose out on investigating with RC (and investigating with summoning is unnecessary, as he'll have all the charms and it goes very quickly). Instead, he should stop using the lamps on RC at 190M xp, then use all the lamps on wc and only investigate with RC. This will lead to him getting 200M RC and 200M attack at the same time, with a lot of wc xp thrown in as a bonus. If he follows this plan, which I think is the most efficient, he'll finish crawlering around July 15, with the following stats: 200M Attack 200M Defense 200M HP 172M WC 100M FM 125M Crafting 53M Thieving 163M Farming 200M RC 52M Hunting Putting these in a time calc says SUOMI would still have another 1700 hours to go afterwards, and if he plays 11 hours a day, that gives him 200M all skills on... December 21, 2012.
  23. The only competition they're putting back into the hiscores is to see who's willing to pay Jagex money the longest. You need to read between the lines. This update is not at all about their stated objective. It's about trying to squeeze more cash out of the players.
  24. While I say keep the inactives on the list, I also say to do the top 15 active players at each update. So the list might look something like this: 1. S U O M I: Getting tons of effigies 2. Jake: Adzing away 3. Caroline2o11: Slaying a bit Elias: Inactive 4. Elvis: Doing a little bit of everything 5. Drumgun: Dungeoned, now fishes Telmomarques: Inactive 6. etc. My main point is leave the inactives in their appropriate spots, but don't count them as one of the 15 updates we get a week. Go all the way down to the 15th highest ranked active player so we hear about some fresh people. Sometimes it seems like the most exciting races for spots are happening in spots 16-18.
  25. Whoops, my mistake. I was looking at crafting, but at the RuneTrack high scores, not the official high scores. I forgot that RuneTrack's scores don't include everybody.
