Boohoo, people don't get what they deserve sometimes. I for one am glad the holiday items are achievable so easily - spending hundreds or thousands of hours of grinding is not my idea of fun, but getting something for free is. Mop your tears, come to terms with the fact the scythe and bunny ears will never be yours (I personally missed the Wintumber tree and Thanksgiving Day emote + item, so I can empathise) and use your MANY hours of RuneScaping to buy a Phat, Mask or other tradable rare (if you play as much as you seem to indicate, it shouldn't take overly long). I honestly believe it will satisfy you as they even pre-date the scythe and are still available to new players. Also, to the Jagex = God or the Government debate, I see them more as a government, who are stuck in a diplomatic role. Sure they have powers but realistically they can't use/abuse them for fear of upsetting and losing players. Interesting argument though.

@ Jard_Y_Dooku I read all of page 1, and then jumped to page 15, but it looks like your argument hasn't moved on any. I just wanted to ask why you are so riled up about not being able to get a scythe (I'm guessing this is the heart of the issue) which you also adamantly insist is useless.. I can't work out whether you are saying "Rares are amazing! They should be available to all [inc. Joe Newb]" or "Rares are useless and ruining the game! [your scythe impresses me not, get a Godsword]" To be honest the ONLY reason I still log in 4 or 5 times a year is to collect rares which, a few weeks down the line, will be unique to the players who were online to collect them. It really is the only fun aspect of RS for me. Build up a reserve of cash, buy a phat, santa or whatever and join in the fun of the exclusivity.

The last time I heard rares were gonna crash a week before phats shot to 1mil a few years back. I sold my red party hat for about 300k out of panic and regretted it. NEVER making that mistake again.

Phil Well, there's little point stating the obvious, but it's my name. This wasn't my first character though. I started with Phil_B__9_8. Phil being my name B being the first letter of my surname 9 8 came from (9.8) which was my form in school at the time It should have been Phil B (9.8) but of course RS doesn't let you have those characters in your name, and converted the brackets and period to spaces, hence the double-space in my name. But after that I came into possession of 'Phil', which is a far superior username.

I started just before the pumpkins were dropped. So, September/October 2001. Wow.. 5 and a half years old :shock:

Don't think I could really get much better than my current RS name. Shame it can't be my Tip.It name too (used to be before the forums went, but I was too slow re-registering)

I've been at the Black Knights fortress training up on the guards, and plenty of people have come by. I must have helped 4 or 5 people through the quest (running round the building, handing out cabbages) in the past 2 days. People seem more clueless these days than 4 years ago. But I enjoy helping, so it's all good.
