  1. it's kinda not surprising Hunters are losing out in pvp they very clearly hyped up that the 3 new destiny 2.0 subclasses are us becoming stronger and better than the previous subclasses we had and Hunter didn't have a "good" pvp subclass left to be released. After all in general Solar classes are about full frontal assault with massive damage. Arc are all about speed and chaining to achieve mass damage and Void, well, they are about support roles really with the shield bubbles, tethering enemies and the 'glass cannon' Voidwalkers who will clear a room but will usual die doing so. Unless they decide to wedge in a 4th element to create a 4th subclass or buff up the destiny 1.0 classes a bit I can't see Hunters fairing all that well in pvp for quite some time. In other news after doing feck all for ages my Warlock is now lvl 39 and I'm getting a bit further through Taken King might actually get to play some end-game before xmas at this rate. Though with new Assassins Creed on friday who knows...
  2. Worth noting in that video the spells are still greyed out - ie cannot be cast via the magic book or used in combat. The way he is casting them is using the left-click 'Freeze' option on chimp ice which is a unique, non-combat function.
  3. We already pay to access content - it's called membership.
  4. Yeah membership package and a season pass are kinda already one in the same. They both are an upfront payment for access to all future additions for a set time period. If anything membership package implies more than season pass because without a season pass you can still play the whole base game, but without a membership package you can only play the free portion of the game.
  5. Because its darkscape - nowhere is safe. They dont want people to be able to dive into their poh to escape danger so portals cant be locked and you get thrown out of build mode if someone enters.
  6. Thank Jebus jamflex listened and made some fixes to the finally 'battle' Goebies now each have 2 hp not 1 aka can take 6 hits b4 u fail instead of 3. Hit boxes on larger npcs have been expanded so your less likely to miss. Spawn rate on wave 3 has been lowered - aka fixes the issue of oh god I missed 1 so now I have like 8 things heading str8 for me Dialogue is skipped when retrying a wave.
  7. Are you saying that they shouldn't keep killing important characters off as soon as they're introduced? Do you realize how insane you sound right now? DW The Nomad quest see us fighting with all the big names who died. Now all the cool characters can be in a 2nd quest and we will get a nice whos who of people Ana killed.
  8. Omg that battle thing is just dumb. Oh god your spam clicking everything to the point that your trackpad is nearly breaking? Well good fight one dog survived your dead!
  9. Was just giving this a skim and spotted a couple of omissions/errors that could use addressing: In Slayer Aides - Toolbelt you fail to make mention of the super explosives shaker, just the normal one. Morytanina Legs should probably mention you have to wear them for the boost. Why no mention of slayer helm (the non-full variant) or a forward reference to the ability to upgrade it? For Kuradel you've put Shilo Village as a requirement, really this should be Barb Training. Alternative monsters seems a bit weird to have included all the clearly in the name alts for the likes of blk drags, banshee and bloodveld but have skipped over Baby Blues and Brutal Greens as well as Grotworm and Ganodermic variants Also side-bar all the slayer toolbelt stuff in item database links to a loverly website section about the toolbelt which hasn't actually been updated to include the slayer belt.
  10. 05.50 South 10.05 East Cairn Isle, inside the ruined building. Zamorak wizard will attack. its already there.
  11. I have no idea what you are talking about tbh. You can eat and heal the same as anywhere else in the game for that quest. Unless you mean when you get to the patrolling 'tanky' guys that are walking over very unsubtle spike holes and give you a very unsubtle cutscene showing you a lever - those guys 1 hit you if they see you, the whole idea is you sneak behind/past them to the lever which activates the spikes killing them.
  12. I never really bought in to the whole 'respect' for high stats thing. It's the nature of pretty much any game that the end game is what its all about and that as a game matures ways of reaching the end-game for each individual facet gets easier because otherwise the game would just get longer and longer in terms of reaching the end game and you'd lose all interest for new players who can never hope to get there. I mean jeeze could you imagine how butt-hurt I'd be if I cared about the respect when I did cooking before cook-x and before skillcapes? I went from having an epically rare stat that barely anyone trained very high to something everyone and their mum gets cause its super easy to buy and get a cape for.
  13. The books are not canon in the slightest when it comes to the game lore, so any crimes or violence they commit there cannot be taken as indicative of what the organisation is within the game. The books are canon. Several in-game sources verify it. The Black Knights were the aggressors in the last war, and their previous leader, Sulla, was a ruthless, violent, cartoonishly villainous psychopath. The Black Knights are also slavers. They totally use slave labor. That's not something T.S. Church came up with, either, it's straight from in-game lore. You gonna defend that too? How many evil deeds have the White Knights committed in canon? I'll give you a hint, it's none, because they're the good guys. The books are not canon. They have said many times they books are not canon unless they decide to put bits of them in the game. Yes several in-game things concur with things in the books and those things are canon, but not everything from the books has appeared in game and those things are not canon. Also White Knights doing evil things in Canon? How about seizing power the minute the King became "too ill to appear in public" and then stripping the black knights of ll their political position within the kingdom and banishing them for no known reason? That's pretty evil, especially as the way the lore stands it's kinda questionable wtf even really has happened to the King. Also I would not take the Black Knights being the aggressor in the last war to automatically mean evil - Not every war is started by evil doers seeking to do evil some are waged with good intentions. Like the Black Knights laying siege to Falador after being banished for no reason to try and ousts the white knights..
  14. The sad thing is that it would have been a really good update if it came out a decade ago. A decade ago I don't even know if Burthorpe actually existed. I don't even know if it was ever that popular to be considered 'good', even to members way back when. I'm all for not starving the Free to Play base but that's a bit hyperbolic don't you think? I'm not sure where exactly it places along the timeline, but don't you think all the people that came to RuneScape from Miniclip would have found it appealing? And as for not knowing where Burthorpe was, presumably it would have been much easier to find if a ton of friends were there playing games, and if the games room and that area had been F2P at the time. It's hard to predict counterfactuals though . Of course there is the small factor that Burthorpe wasn't a f2p area at the time, let alone the games room.

  16. They said once upon a time that Mining/Smithing rework would give them a good base model which they could then use to more quickly do similar reworks for wc/fletch, fish/cook and crafting. Though tbh with how they revamped healing from food fish/cook kinda makes sense now, but wc/fletch and craft could certainly use some level appropriate re-jigging But yeah all told a lot of skills really need reworks. Agility needs better ways to train and a greater function than a few short cuts. Farming is very 1 dimensional and could benefit greatly from assorted livestock ideas and some general sprucing to the mechanics of existing farming. Hunter could use a bit more variety and definitely needs some more useful things injected into it Firemaking just well, Fire...making... Construction they kinda need to nuke the existing poh system and do something entirely new.
  17. Of course this has very little grounding in actual lore since both sets of Knights worked side by side to found the kingdom with no signs of the black knights being any more 'evil' than the white knights. There was jsut always friction between the factions and various power struggles until ultimately the black knights were banished. The only 'source' we have for the black knights being outright evil is basically the white knights said so - there's not really any major historic documentation showing them doing anything genuinely evil even with their stuff with Lucien they didn't really outright do much in the way of evil. Plus I'd hardly paint the white knights as legitimate good guys, let us not forget the black knights were prominent and powerful within Asgarnia and a legitimate part of the Kingdom. But then King Vallance become too ill to appear publicly and their White Knights suddenly swooped in to rule in his stead and declared the Black Knights to have no power and banished them. And they don't seem content to stop there, after all they do have a spy watching the Imperial Guard and Crowned Prince in Burthorpe as well. Also Temple Knights are White Knights, they are a subgroup hence why you speak to a White Knight to start the quests and gain White Knight rankings for their quests. If anything based on the lore we have I'd place White Knights closer to the 'evil' end of things than the Black. After all Black Knights is a Zamorkian faction of Knights that helped found Asgarnia and gained power and popularity during their time in power. Then they were suddenly denounced and thrown out for no reason other than the White Knights said so and have since made plots and plans to reclaim the Kingdom. Meanwhile the Saradominist White Knights were the lesser faction that suddenly seized power when the King mysterious became too ill to appear any more. Then they proceeded to banish the Black Knights for no apparent reason, have got a very obvious spy watching over the other Knightly faction/royalty and have very morally questionable secret division in the Temple Knights
  18. ^This Yes abilities do not need runes, but you still need to be casting a spell in the first place to enter combat. If you aren't casting a spell you have no damage output, ability damage is derived from percentages of your normal damage output
  19. Shame that they removed cremation count increase from Sun Spear, was one of the big appeals to the weapon for those not maxed already.
  20. Not sure they're really the same team anymore (at least when it comes to bosses), the big lead behind all those projects was Chris L and he left after raids. So we'll see how it turns out. I'm glad he did too. Combat difficulty went up across the board because of him and i didn't enjoy his tenure/meddling. Same here. What he did was good but he was overly influenced by a niche group of insanely pro pvmers and kept pushing to give them a new challenege and the rest of us average to poor pvmers be damned. New bosses don't always have to be the new hardest thing ever (especially when we havent got new best ever gear de-valuing prior bosses) they just need to be new and interesting to add something different to pvm. All the bosses I actually legit killed I quite enjoyed cause of variety etc. The ones I struggled with/leeched cause I don't got time or team to learn them anytime soon all very much seemed to be a very repetitive hit it a bit, then run away from this, then hit it a bit more just with different paint jobs and increasing damage amounts (Thinking Legionnaires to a lesser extent, Rago, Rots, both Raids and Arraxor)
  21. Plz tell me jagex isnt going to completely rewrite the lore of the conflict between black and white knights. The whole the two used to both protect falador until the white knights when middle ages and kicked out anyone not following saradomin. If they turn the black knights into plain power hungry stereotypes I will flip. I don't see any reason why this event would re-write the lore in the slightest. The existing lore sets up nicely the rivalry and the fact the Black Knights are waiting and plotting to get their chance to over throw them. All the reasons given fit with this lore as well - the White Knights have wealth and resources because they are the official Knights of Asgarnia - the Black Knights don't have wealth and resources because the White Knights got them banished and sidelined. Tendency to bustle in on other peoples affairs? Well the whole back story revolves around how they had ongoing political and power struggles between their two factions. What else could cause such struggles than each order trying to muscle in on the others business to assert dominance? Also worth noting - the lore is not that they both used to protect Falador, Falador has always been the city of the White Knights. The Lore is that both knight factions were used by first king of Asgarnia to found the kingdom and both had a place in the kingdom leading to power struggles between them until the White Knights gained the upper hand and the Kinshra were banished - hence why none of their bases are truly in Asgarnia now - they have a presence in Forinthry with their 'main' fortress and their more concealed dungeon one is in a locale that you could debate whether it is Asgarnia - entrance to dungeon is certainly in Asgarnia, but notably in an area protected by the Imperial Guard not White Knights and with how far west the cave system goes and the other exit in Cathurby it could be debated as to if it falls into Kandarin kingdom or Asgarnia kingdom,
  22. Because we've known this information for several months now?
  23. Honestly, I was surprised with just how popular it was. I thought it would be like RoP, where there was a relatively small but dedicated group that really wanted it to be done and the rest of the players didn't care. If you look at RoP it shows up constantly, is never really a dead topic, Always tops or nearly tops Runelabs, but then didn't really poll that well. I am really happy with the community on this because I do believe its needed, I was just never quite sure how much of the community agreed on that. I'd say this and RoP fall into the exact same situation: In the kind of survey the rework 'won' where you could freely vote for how much you want any given update it has a real chance for the full support to be shown, conversely when polled as a 'pick one only' it's success rate is heavily weighted by just what it is against. The first time RoP polled it was against Elder Gods and Dragonkin - both well established massive stories with recent entries to help build hype. It's not really a surprise massively hyped ongoing stories are going to out perform a story that hasn't even been started and has no in-game hype factor when its a one or the other choice. This can even been seen in the fact RoP came a close 4th to Sir Owen which is again a story that has begun and has some hype to it. A similar situation occurs the 2nd time it got polled - Seren Quest riding on the hype of Zaros return and elf city, New ways to do Agility & Farming Guild both hyped on the fact they are skills that are very one note and need some rework/expansion to make things more interesting vs RoP a story with no in-game hype to fuel it. If you polled RoP against all other things that didn't have any pre-hype I think it would perform a lot better. It's kind of like back a few years ago in the Marvel Movies if you polled Cpt America 2, Thor 2, Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy as a 'pick one and its the only one you can see' thing you would inevitable expect the sequels to the already established series to be more popular than Guardians which hasn't been started.
  24. The one thing from this talk that left me with slightly sore note was that they were surprised with how popular mining and smithing rework was in their poll stuff and how they thought we weren't 'that excited about it' It kinda shows how out of touch with the player base they still are. It's not like skill reworks was ever a quiet dead topic -it's been pretty consistently discussed and suggested since well before they even recognised it as something they might do and people constantly raise it in QAs and stuff.
  25. Why not merge Attack and Strength? Ooooh, wait, that would lower the max total by 99 and lots of overall XP would be lost when you combine both skills... I do admit my dislike is most personal. However, if you think combing Attack and Strength is "bad" for whatever reason, then that's an equally personal stance. However, I'm not the standard maxed-comped-200m-praise-Jagex-edate-in-Prif player, so my opinion matters less. Also, do note that melee is better DPS than any other class, largely due to Berserker. Unrelated, did Jagex say the NXT client was 32-bit? If so: Hahahahahaha. Incompetent. Now I'm done with Stream stuff I'll pick up on this. Personally I would not oppose merging attack and strength to the same end of balancing how all 3 classes gain power, however personally I do prefer the idea of keep strength but separate it from melee to be universal because it offers more diversity in terms of things you can do with combat skills. And it would feed into versatility in combat builds on the whole - at the moment you get some versatility in melee in terms of are you balanced? are you accurate but weak? are you strong but inaccurate? but the same does not apply to magic and ranged. This would bring the same diversity to all three. Plus when you look at abilities some str ones will prob become attack ones, but theres a good selection that can easily be cross class abilities and it'd be quite interesting to have an offensive ability book that is universal to all classes - it'll be like your freedom or guthix butterfly but actually offensive and would ultimately make it kind easier to offer abilities as a quest reward - instead of having to be biased to one combat class when the quest may not warrant it or dev and balance 3 abilities they could make 1 kick-ass offensive ability to add in. Also it can feed into other activities in terms of requirements at the moment strength reqs is just i r strong man, i can lift/smash stoofs. It can gain elements to do with the kind of strength ranging requires - the kind of strength involved in stability to aim, the kind of strength in making a controlled exact movement like pulling and hold a bow and, more interestingly, can look into elements of mental strength since strength for magic would be about shaping spells through your will power. Could feed nicely into like horror, psychological and puzzle elements of things - mental fortitude reducing an effect like recovery after a jump scare or allowing extra hints or simplification in certain puzzles. All that kind of thing to me are very interesting routes that don't really fit with any skill in-game right now but would make perfect sense with a more unviersal strength skill.
