This is my setup, forgot to put in broad bolts so just add those to the ammo slot. Obviously you can't use steel titan so just substitute with your best cbt familiar. Other than that it's just knowing the safespots and when to use the crystals.

EEK might be better (no negative mage bonus) but I generally use divine when I'm at the kiln so someone else might be able to answer this better. It's entirely possible without a familiar and using melee it'll just be annoying and take you longer. Enhanced Excaliber and Storm of Armadyl would be useful too.

Yes both mage and range, being able to use the Storm of Armadyl spell on the Jad's and final boss would help a lot but it requires doing a lot of quests... You can use polypore against the other melee creatures. As far as tricks just learn the safespots and when to use the crystals, should be plenty of videos on youtube to help with that. As far as gear Gano for maging and Arma for ranging one of the dungeoneering shields would be nice too but any decent shield would work.

Great guide, just used it to get the my Rhino cape. Might start farming onyx's there, looking forward to the steel titan section.
