Stats needed to range Kiln efficiently

Hi, I haven't played Runescape in ~2 years, and have decided to start up again this summer.

 

I'm currently working on a range tank, with short term goals of 94 range/mage, 75 defense, 75 prayer.

 

Are these stats high enough to do Kiln and not take forever?

 

I understand that there is a learning curve to doing Kiln, and the more you do it, the better you get, but are the above stats good enough to start trying?

 

Can you estimate how long it might take me?

94 Range AND Mage along with 74 Def and Prayer should be more than enough to get you through it without any hassel. But you're going to need both mage and ranged as just ranging the Kiln will be extremely hard and take forever, even with maxed stats and the best gear.

 

Estimate how long what would take you? The Kiln or training?

 

Training can take as little as 2 weeks provided you have the money to burn.

With those stats the Kiln should take no longer than 90 minutes.

Those stats will give you a chance at completing the the Kiln for sure; however, if you are going to stick with one combat style, you'll want to use magic. So polypore and gano would be your best bet rather than ranging.

Yes both mage and range, being able to use the Storm of Armadyl spell on the Jad's and final boss would help a lot but it requires doing a lot of quests... You can use polypore against the other melee creatures. As far as tricks just learn the safespots and when to use the crystals, should be plenty of videos on youtube to help with that. As far as gear Gano for maging and Arma for ranging one of the dungeoneering shields would be nice too but any decent shield would work.

I do plan on making this my main source of money, so I'm trying to estimate fastest time possible with those stats and some experience.

 

I think I will go ahead and get 85 defense for full Gano.

 

Special gear I will have available:

 

Chaotic Kiteshield (if there is a better one, please do say)

Chaotic Crossbow

Full Arma if needed

Full Gano

Polypore Staff

Overloads

Rigour

 

Anything else I should look into getting?

EEK might be better (no negative mage bonus) but I generally use divine when I'm at the kiln so someone else might be able to answer this better. It's entirely possible without a familiar and using melee it'll just be annoying and take you longer. Enhanced Excaliber and Storm of Armadyl would be useful too.

If you're getting Overloads you should spend the time unlocking the EEE (upgraded enhanced excaliber - from the Seers tasks), which will greatly minimize the amount of healing you will need to do. I would definitely suggest EEK (Eagle Eye Kiteshield) over the CKS as it is better for both maging and ranging. Also some form of ranged defensive armour would be preferable (Cheap barrows will do) as you will often be tanking ranged.
