Is it a blue screen with plenty of white writing over it? If it is, write down the STOP error code. For example: 0x00000000 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Give us that and we'll see what we can do. Also, you may want to take down the error message near the top of the screen. (It will be in capitals).
  3. A just statement. However, it depends on if he means it will slow his PC down all the time or whether it will only be slow whilst he is playing.
  4. Unless youown the orginial copy of the game, then its leagal. Which, for the moment, we'll assume he does. There a few good websites for emulation. A favourite of mine is http://www.emuv2.com. I don't think they host a Sega Genesis emulator but I'll check around and edit this post if I find one. Edit: I downloaded an emulator and scanned it. AVG says it's clean but I don't have any ROMs to test it out. You can get it here: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/ge ... usion.html
  5. First we need to determine what kind of mouse it is. Wireless or wired? Ball or laser?
  6. That's a good point. :) Change it to: at 05:00 shutdown -s -f -t 0
  7. [sARCASM] Yeah, she deserved to get raped. [/sARCASM] Sure, she was stupid, but no one deserves that. :notalk:
  8. I thought the age for signup was 16 but I think it's been changed as I just checked the terms of service and it is actually 14. She had every right to be a member of the site. However, as Mercifull said, the gullibility/stupidity of young girls is astounding. Even after the whole, "People online may not be who they say they are" campaign. I watched a video clip recently of a young girl talking about her experience. She thought she was 'in love' so she met some guy. The thing that made me laugh (sick, I know) was when she said something like, "He was sat in his car. He looked older than he'd said. I got in". It's amazing. Getting back on topic, I think the parents don't actually care that their daughter has just been invaded; they just want a load of money.
  9. You could try using the 'at' command in command prompt. For example: at 13:50 "shutdown -s -t 0" Thing is, you'd have to shut it down at a certain time, instead of when your download is complete.
  10. Thanks for that. I may give it a bash later on and see if I can get it working. Could come in handy if I ever decide to log onto Runescape. :D
  11. That's a Catherine Wheel. :P One time, I sprayed deodorant in the shape of a "R" on a table and set fire to it. That was pretty. :D
  12. Have you recently installed new hardware?
  13. You've lost my respect Bubsa, I pity you... Yeah, he lost mine too... You should know that Take A Break is the best. That poses another interesting question, actually. Who reads magazines meant for stories of trauma and other such things!?
  14. Just to clarify: Bubsa is a board member that made a few songs. Try searching around for him. ;) I haven't had much experience with iPods but shouldn't it just be the same simple procedure of using iTunes to do it?
  15. Hmm. Luckily, I've been doing a fair bit of work with cameras and transferring stuff onto PC quite recently. First off, check for one of these: USB DV S-Video Find the right cable and the right port on your PC. (USB if you it does actually turn out to be USB compatible/firewire for DV/S-Video for S-Video). Edit: Just realised that you didn't actually mention connecting it up. If you already have a method for connecting it, then (provided you're running Windows XP) click Start>Programs>Accessories>Windows Movie Maker. When it opens, click file and then click capture video. Choose your camera at the next prompt and click next. Choose a file name and directory, etc. On the next screen, choose the settings you want. (These should be straightforward enough). On the next part, set the camera (Using the camera not the PC :P) to playback and click "Start Capture" on your PC. Start playing the video on the camera and it should record onto your PC.
  16. I can guarantee you'd chuckle more if you knew how it's pronounced. It's hard to phonetically do the sound but it's a sort of growl from the back of your throat to get the "ch" sound. Like gargling water but not as harsh.
  17. I can almost pronouce it properly. The accent I have kind of helps with that though. It's funny listening to people trying to imitate the Welsh accent. Like, with Dafydd from Little Britain, I had a few people trying to insult me with that and for some reason they would always say it like this: "I am tha own-lee gay in tha vill - ah -j". Yeah, that doesn't really make much sense but it's an attempt at phonetically telling you how it sounds. I know a very little amount of the Welsh language and I'd heard of that place name before.
  18. If anyone truly belives a bit of spelling such as "Actueyl" deems a person unintelligent, they are idiotic. Runs at Lionheart with a rusty knife and proceeds to perform an act of castration.
  19. Quite a few of us went on a "Gunz spree". We all got bored after a few days.
  20. I think there were a number of Marv references in there. Either that or it's a huge coincidence. I quite liked the concept on this one. Pretty short and maybe could have gone on longer to give the reader some idea of what's going on. I think this is still a great piece of writing though; correlating with everything else I've ever read of yours.
  21. Why couldn't this have gone into a PM?
  22. First off, why would memory have any effect on the graphics card? I don't see how this makes any sense. Also, the only safe way to upgrade your CPU isn't to take it to a shop. I've seen many shops make a right mess of someone's PC by doing this. I can change a CPU quite safely, it's not difficult. Finally, in regards to the original post, I'd have to agree that buying a completely new PC will be required. I'd recommend getting a paper delivery job and doing odd jobs for people, like washing cars and things.
