I could care less what I get anymore. Just having a month away from my classes and homework to chill out with my friends is good enough for me. But I guess if I was to get something, I would ask for some gascards. Gascards rock, just slide the card at the pump, dont have to go into the station to pay and wait in line, its basically free money in my opinion but alittle better. Now back to work on my 10000 end of semester homework projects and papers that are due within the next week :x

Yeah as always said, the only way I've found out to solve the problem is to open up a new browser and for some reason it slows down the game play to normal. Sounds rediculous I know, but homestarrunner.com seems to solve my problem so I just keep that page up while playing, or if I listen to music it stops. Wish I had a better solution, but I dont. Hopefully someone posts something better lol.

I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to viruses and trojans and such and the other day my firewall prompted me indicating that "a suspicious script had been detected and stopped" (or something along those lines). I ran about every virus scanner and keylogger scanner that I had or found on the internet but I haven't detected anything. If my firewall had indeed blocked a keylogger from sending out information from my computer, will it completely block it as long as I dont turn off my firewall? Also, how hard is it for a spyware/virus/trojan ect scanner to find a keylogger on a system? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could detect a keylogger on my system or have any antivirus scanner sites that maybe I have not heard of before? I've used all of the scanners indicated in the sticky in the help forum already. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Ok, well I guess I should try to tone down the 180Hz then lol...the recommended level from the monitors instructions said I should set it at 60 hz, which in counterstrike, I could still see a little delay time. At 180Hz, counterstrike was pretty much perfect, it was as fast as a crt monitor. I'd really like to keep it at 180Hz, but if you all think that it will burn out my monitor faster, I guess I'll try to tone it to a more reasonable level. Thanks for the replies

I recently bought a 17 inch Hyundai LCD monitor with a 8ms response time. When I looking for a monitor I definantly wanted something with a fast response time figuring I am into fast moving games like counter-strike. When I was configuring some of the options with the monitor there is a place to configure the screen refresh rate. I have an option to go all the way to 180 Hz. Can anyone explain what the screen refresh rate is? It doesnt appear to be the same as response time, and should I set it at the highest setting available? Thanks for the help

I'm sort of curious, my hard drive is getting sort of full because its only a 40GB and am looking for an easy way to make some space. I know the system volume information folder holds system restore points incase I had computer problems or something and wanted to restore my computer to an earlier state. So if I wanted, is it ok to delete some of the contents of this folder? Its taking up nearly 6GB and seems like an easy way to gain some room on my hard drive...I just dont know if its safe to do. Any feedback would be appriciated, thanks.

Do you have any firewalls that could be preventing the virus scanner from loading properly?

Check to make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card ect.

Well I'm able to play runescape but I cant use the highscores or log into account management to use the forums ect. I do notice when I'm trying to log into account management I get a windows popup saying that "the name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site." It asks me if I want to proceed, so I did and still nothing loads. Still not sure if that has anything to do with it. So just wondering am I the only one encountering this problem and if so, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my loading problem?

lol, I have no idea what that is...sorry about that. Well anyways, the whole problem was with my ISP the whole time. I guess when I saw that virus from HJT I was thinking the worst, but everything is fixed now. Thanks

I tried just about everything now...everythings being blocked. I did get to download HJT off of download.com...but when I opened it my virus scanner popped again saying a virus has been detected. The name of the virus is W32/generic.worm!p2p I know for sure download.com doesnt have viruses...so im pretty clueless Also, I notice sometimes when im loading a page that cannot be displayed im getting connecting to pagead2.googlesyndication.com on the bottom of my page as it is connecting. DONT go to that site..who knows whats it it but i think its the source of my problem.

Little update...somethings blocking me from doing anything that has to do with searching and cleaning viruses/adaware/ect. Every website I try is being blocked by something and I have no idea what to do now...

Firewall, I've turned that off too tho. Ummm...I've been looking around thinking that maybe my browser has been hijacked and I think thats the case...I tried downloading hijackthis, but I'm unable to get it off the main page and when I tried downloading it off another page my virusscanner said it had a trojan?? I'm really getting confused

Ok, basically I'm unable to access google.com, sounds wierd but thats it. Every other webpage works fine. I've talked to all of my friends who told me google is working just fine but when I load up the page I get "The page cannot be displayed". I'm completely out of ideas, I've tried rebooting several times and even uninstalled the new microsoft beta spyware program that I recently installed thinking that was the problem... If anyone is having the same problem or knows any ideas or solutions to my problem, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
