For KVM Switches, I'd suggest IOGear, they make good high-end switches that last forever. I used to work at Best Buy as well and we used IOGear switches for our public displays, and we've never had to replace a single one. They run around $25-35 depending on where you purchase them at.

When you have multiple hard drives, the data you erase from one drive doesn't mean your other data will be deleted. You have your programs on your D drive, but if they're actually PROGRAMS, then you'll need to reinstall all of them because whenever you installed the programs originally it writes data into DLL files and also into the system registry. Your documents and other files that can run independently are fine, but for the programs, you'll have to reinstall ALL of them.

You can first disable the built-in firewall on Windows XP (not suggested if you don't have an additional firewall or router) Settings > Network Connections > Then click on the network device Go to Properties > Advanced And now, uncheck that box. After that, if you have a firewall, you want to "ACCEPT" all incoming connections through the ports you listed. This will allow RuneScape to connect through the ports without any problems.

That happens when packets between the browser and network connection are transferred and the packets lose the data in between the process. Check your network settings on both FireFox and on the card. Ensure that a firewall isn't blocking the application or pages of FireFox.

During the summer it's tough because kids are online all the time as well. The best time would probually be around 2:00 AM (GMT -2:00) because most servers have less stress during that period because of less users. Try asking around before you tie up a phone line for 14 hours lol....What state are you in? (City too if you feel OK about it...)

If you see the world select screen, it has to be a Java problem because the page you load has the Java Applet in it...try uninstalling the java application you installed (Microsoft Java, SUN Java, etc...) After that, a nice java application would be SUN Java. (http://java.sun.com) Hope this works out. By the way, installing a new java object won't destroy anything.

Well it depends how your transciever on the existing computer operates. If it operates via USB, then you should just be able to plug it in and Windows will recognize it. If it connects via ethernet, you will need to establish drivers (downloadable from the CD that should of come with the transciever.) Hope this helps.

Powerpoint is a branch of Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office is a seperate product sold in stores and range from $99 to anywhere above. Microsoft XP does NOT come with Office XP which normally includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Visio, etc. In order to get "PowerPoint", you would have to purchase Microsoft Office. If you wish to purchase them off of the internet, here are some following links that have decent prices. http://www.tigerdirect.com http://www.amazon.com http://www.newegg.com All in all, you need to buy "Microsoft Office" in order to install PowerPoint.

Also, another one I prefer is BlackIce [http] I've used it for years and has never failed me. It's nice because anything you want to change, you can do it throughout BlackIce, and it also has built-in application control. Just felt like sharing the wealth. =)

Lol. I know what I'm talking about. And I have to use a crossover cable when it connects directly to my modem. I'm majoring in Computer Programming at a college here, and I'm also MCSE certified. I don't speak lies :) If you knew correctly, you would know that most modems route data different either using a crossover or straight-through. It's all variant on the modem.

First off, check the settings by doing the following in FireFox: Tools > Options It should open the "Privacy" section. Check each and everyone of the types (Cookies, Cache, etc.) and set them on the desired setting (such as 99 days). This will ensure that the information is kept there for the maximum amount of time.

Well, after reading line after line, the only thing I have questions about is the following The above entry appears to be an executable, and is running off of your registry, and is set to open on startup. Not sure what it is, maybe you do. This one is quite interesting, it has a install parameter. Might be something bad, unless you know what it is. Might be good to just remove it if you're not sure what it is. This one is also questionable. Obviously you use X-Fire, but your .dll file is missing to correctly connect to it. This shouldn't affect IE though. Wish I could help ya out more, but there really doesn't seem to be anything blocking or halting IE from what I can tell on the HJT log. Sorry ... tried :cry:

Actually, as you can tell, the imposion blast spreads outwards than it does up and out. Blasts going outwards without an immediate blast heading upwards is a sign of implosion from the fission/chemical reaction of molecules within the blast source. So, err...ya, it's TECHNICALLY an imposion.

You don't understand X-Box live. Even when you sign up for a trial, a credit card number is required. If you go over a certain date, it AUTOMATICALLY bills you, and if it's a credit card, it won't have to verify the funds in the account. Basically Mercifull is right, it would be fraud.

The problem may be that the cable your using is a patch/straight cable and not a crossover cable. The difference in these types is the way the ethernet wires are assigned. You can buy crossover cables from your local computer stores or through online sites such as TigerDirect.com. BE SURE it is CROSSOVER. On the other hand, it MAY be a crossover and your modem may require a straight-through type cable. The best way is to check both of the wire types out. If you know any nerds, ask them for a crossover and straight-through Cat5e wires.

If your running off of a router, then the best bet would be to DMZ yourself (through the control panel of your router) and also be sure you are using crossover cables if your going to a router or modem. Are you running ICS or anything? Also, how is your internet connected?

As a former Best Buy employee, I can tell you with a 100% promise, that a Playstation 1 card will only work with a Playstation 1. The same is with Playstation 2 cards. The reason is Playstation 1 and Playstation 2 memory cards are in a different memory pin layout. The Playstation 1 memory cards are usually around a pack of three for five dollars, so they aren't expensive.

Well if I had to guess, I would agree with Cameron and agree that since you've tried different video cards, it's not the card's GPU, so I would assume it would be a integrated circuit on the AGP slot that is malfunctioning. The only thing I can suggest is that you switch to PCI because it's apparent that the AGP isn't recieving an output signal since your monitor is in a "dead" status. Worst case, buy a cheap card from a store, test it, then return it. That's not a nice way to handle it, but it get's the job done. However, after the expense of all that, it would be a heck of a lot better buying a new mobo at somewhere good like [ http://www.tigerdirect.com ].
