  1. Britain and the commonwealth...1/4 of the planet. Anywho. Chips and fries refer to two quite different things, Chips refer to Steak Fries(in American Parlance) and Fries refer to Fries(in American Parlance).
  2. Ok, Talents: If you are unsure if you meet the pre-requistes then please ask. For XP cost...There is no hard and fast way to work it out. I will go through in a minute and give provisional XP costs, though if the talent is amazingly relevant to your character then it would be discounted. [hide] [/hide] Skills: [hide] [/hide] Much harder and much faster in terms of XP requirements. 100 XP for training AND a good reason as to how you came trained (For instance, if you wanted to learn how to speak Demonic then you would need to find a demon or some such...you can't just 'I learned it') 200 XP for +10, again, a good reason why you are better at it (More leeway, 'I was practicing really hard' is normally good enough. For knowledge and stuff though you will need something to learn from) 300 XP for +20, and a good reason. 500 XP for +30, if you reach this point we can assume you don't need a good reason any more =p As ever, be sensible with both =P the Pilot skill is not helpful =P
  3. A) 200 I believe. B) 100 XP per point, or: Baptism: Costs: 15 Shillings Material Cost: 1 Shilling Difficulty: Easy (+30) Confession: Costs: 7 Shillings, 10 Pennies Material Cost: 1 Shilling Difficulty: Easy (+30) Both based on Holy Magic or similar. (Read Blood of Martyrs for more details) As was discovered during the session 0HP is not death...but the first step on the path to death, with the penalties ranging from the minor(Fatigue) to the sever(losing arms and such). However, if you reach death death you would have to burn a fate point to come back. Similarly terminal insanity/excessive corruption/being sucked into the warp(from use of extreme powers)/ect leads to permadeath without fate restores. (Unless you want to become the villian) Alternatively you can die and come back at the base XP (Which is 1,850 at the moment...1,250 + 600) Its more exciting that way =P As a general rule your common enemies will need to hit you twice to reduce you to 0hp and 3-4 times to kill you...and I will not let stuff kill you in 1 hit (Excepting in the 'I step into the portal of doom cause you won't kill me in 1 hit so I can step out again, trollolololollol') It was considerably more fun, and thrilling, having people struggle in mortal combat, than killing wave after wave of mooks, or spending several rounds fighting an unkillable monster. Also...quite importantly...No one was wearing armour, and Armour Points were applied hapharzardly. I suppose this will diminish as more sessions are played and become grow accustomed to it. Oh, also, if people feel that another person strongly deserves a fate point as reward for their actions, please say. 1 point will be award per session.

  5. After much effort, the adventure was finally resolved =P Everyone recieves 600 xp. Anyway, if people enjoyed the new system please post, if they weren't sure because they didn't play/whatever then please post that, and if you played and didn't like it please post that.
  6. Righto. I have been writing an essay all day, so sorry if people needed me  Anyway: /Join #Inn /Join #Grimmfell tavern /Join #Inquistor tavern /Join #Elsewhere tavern
  7. Typically any action you post that hasn't already been rolled on (like finding a nearby water source, or walking back to the town from just outside of the town). But I don't keep an exact track of how often I roll, so in the session make a note and find out =P
  8. You don't HAVE to, but it would help =) The two numbers are: 10s and digits. The 10s are important because they are your modifer (Aka 50=modifer of 5) so if I ask for your Agility Modifer it is 3, because your Agility Characteristic is 34. The digits are important for normal rolls, because 34 is higher than 30 =)
  9. I assume you understand the Talents part...and the Character Sidebar (With your name, XP, ect). So the Characteristics and Skills part? Characteristics are what you want to roll lower than on a d100. Skills are the things you roll at your characteristic (So Search is rolled at 30). Stuff that you don't have as skills, like, say, Awareness, is rolled at half your characteristics (So 15) Stuff with +10 is your characteristic +10 (so Survival is 45, instead of 35) The skills themselves are fairly self explanatory.
  10. If you didn't say that about every Anime we might be inclined to believe it...

  13. Hmmmmm Series of lectures has finished without almost anyone's knowledge...and now likely I will never see one of my friends again (Oh the melodrama)...But yeah, its somewhat 'Huh...ok then...'
  14. Whoops  Ok, I will fix that. And I will roll up other people's characters in a little while...Just gotta finish my 100% Readiness ME3 game.
  15. Statistics are just there to help you, you don't have to remember all of them or understand them all to use one or two  I am perfectly happy to help you through genning a character if you want. Much as I don't want to lose you I am going to try it, and if people aren't even willing to try an alternate system then I am going to simply shut down the game and start a new one. I don't mind if we try it, it turns into an abysmal failure and I have to apologise profusely, as long as it is tried and people give it a fair chance. Right, ok then: 1.3 Shield Combat = Trained in Shields (Ag), +30xp 1.7 Construction = Trained in Trade (Construction) (Ag), +70xp 4.0 Foraging = Trained in Survival, (Int) +300xp 7.9 Mining = Extra Trained in Trade (Mining) (S), +290xp 2.0 Duplomancy = Trained in Magi-Craft (Duplication) (Int), +100xp So, from that, I would imagine you wanted a character with high Agility, Intelligence and Strength. Rolled: 6,1,3,6,10,10,8,4,4,5,2,7,7,1,6,5,10,1 So I will say: Group 1: 20 in Agility (Using the two 10s) 15 in Intelligence (Using 8 and 7) 15 in Strength (Using 10 and 5) Group 2: 10 in Fellowship (Using 6 and 4) 9 in Weapon Skill (Using 7 and 2) 10 in Toughness (Using 6 and 4) Group 3: 9 in Willpower (Using 3 and 6) 6 in Perception (Using 1 and 5) 2 in Ballistics (Using the two 1s) Then +20 to all of them. For wounds rolled a 10, so 10+10+3(From Toughness), so 23. 1,250+790=2,040xp to spend. I would say... +5 to Agility, Strength and Intelligence for 300xp total. (300) +5 again to Agility for 250xp. (550) Ambidexterous for 200xp. (750) Combat Master for 100xp (850) Hatred (Religious) for 100xp (950) Litany of Hate for 200xp (1150) Double Advanced Melee Weapons Training for 100+200+200xp (1650) Rapid Reactions for 200xp (1850) Resistance (Magic) for 100 (1950) So your character sheet would look something like this: (While the XP Earned and Spent are filled in here, it is probably a better idea(if you are printing it off) to remove those scores and pencil them in =P) As you can see the sheet is not overly complex and the system is very straight forwards. So please, please, please, give it a shot.
  16. How players see the GM: [hide] [/hide] How the GM sees the players: [hide] [/hide] Anyway, Three Questions: Is anyone going to drop out as a result of adopting the new system? (Primarily so I don't have to gen up a character) Does anyone want me NOT to do their character for them? (I am happy to do the basic stuff) Are people happy to play one session with the new system, to try it out, before giving their predilections of doom? (If the new system goes horribly I am willing to revert to the old system again.)
  17. You know you have been playing Mass Effect too long when you see 'C-Sec' and automatically assume someone is talking about calling security =P
  18. Slightly different. I was born with a vast amount of fluid in my lungs(not the good type of fluid), which 3-6 hours after I was born started suffocating me.
  19. High fives Stork: Respitory malfunctions as babies; people who should have died
  20. I imagine they are a bigger deal in the United States...Since they have to pay out an inordinate amount of money/fill in some paperwork. We, in Welfare State Countries, just have to go to the hospital without worrying that, though we will no longer be physically crippled, we may be finacially crippled. :shame: No adovacting euthanasia.
  21. Sigh. Real life roleplaying is EVEN MORE of a hassle than online roleplaying...That or the GM is just more of a hassle. So there is a regular, society, meeting on sundays, but our GM has a job and can't make Sundays, so fair is fair we move it to Mondays...Two consecutive Monday's he cancels! Doesn't rearrange it for one of the many other days in the week, just leaves us for two weeks! I am not 'mad' at him, just somewhat frustrated, hence why I am posting here =P
  22. Awww, I really feel for you Earth
  23. If people has reason to discuss the system then I will be in #Inn for the next few hours.
  24. Unless it resolves as you flying to Wales and murdering me, I don't see how it impacts on the game?
