  1. Yeah, the thing with structured games is that they don't like you building anything that adds to the structure, and puts strong restrictions on what you can actually do in game...Its one of the reasons games like GTA and Deus Ex are/were so popular, they give you the illusion of being able to come at a problem from multiple angles. Roleplaying games do much the same thing when run well. At anyrate, Mather, if you want to refight the battle for Dungeoneering then please post on the thread.
  2. So basically a useless picture? Informative.
  3. Unless the screen was not pointed at your eyebrows as well I can't see what difference that would make? Unless your dye was super-brilliant(Reflects light due to additives). In either event, unless you plan to never be in the light with your new hair I would still recommend you lower the luminance. Alternatively you could turn the screen off while you take the picture...Or sit further back...and thus show us what you mean.
  4. We are starting in approximately one hour. The channel is up.
  5. Nex... I would probably go a shade darker to lessen the contrast between that and your natural hair colour...Or dye your eyebrows.
  6. Huh...if you tied the hair in that photoshoped photo back you would have a bearded lady.
  7. I agree with Mather. Dating at ages below 25 is fine. The idea that we can find the perfect person, with no experiance, and accurately predict the next 60-80 years is, frankly, laughable. Is it really better to wait until you are 28, in a long term relationship, and finally start experiancing the knotted thing we call 'Love'/'Lust'/Whatever? Also, since I am a redhead...It kinda depends on the light and if people can see your chin, strangely enough, as to whether it is masculine or feminine. Looking only at my eyebrows (and eyes) and above people say it looks very feminine. Whereas much below there and I swing to the other end of the scale =P At any rate, if you choose a plastic red colour, as you have in that picture, it will do two things: 1st, it cannot really look good...As nef said it looks like a plastic wig. 2nd, it will last up to two weeks (usually alot less) before you look terrible because the roots have come through. If you choose a more natural redhead version: [hide] Which you probably can't pull off because of your complexion...Though the long hair could aid you considerably: Ultimately though having red hair requires you to have a set of other features otherwise it doesn't really work...freckles are the most notable, though greenish eyes, flat, straight nose, rounded jawline. Its not really like blonds and brunettes...and to a lesser extent black-hairs...where you can just dye it and it works. [/hide] If you are going with the fake red: [hide] Its actually rather annoying that they all look so terrible. I knew a woman who went with the plastic red hair look and pulled it off reasonably well, even with the roots, though she was a natural brunette and ever so slightly crazy...Also she used the full works in make up, which is suprisingly effective and subtle (Another woman I knew managed to wear green eyeshadow for several months before I noticed, at which point I mentioned it and a room full of supposedly observant people had also not noticed it). In this case I believe she worn rather dark eyeliner and scarlet type (It really doesn't say with you =P It is amazingly forgetable) eyeshadow, as well as lipstick and such.) [/hide] I would probably recommend you go for the natural red head version, since at least, if you do it and it looks absolutely terrible, you can trim it back so that it looks rather cool, and when the roots come through they will blend more naturally. Though obviously you could just buy more dye, though that would probably result in you killing your hair in a few months (As happened to a friend of mine, I found it fairly amusing, she did not). Alternatively you could use purple or red eyeshadow (Unless people look rather closely no one will actively notice) to offset the colour contrast, though we are firmly beyond my extremely limited (for a gay guy) field of expertises in hair care. Final word, don't dye your hair into blond spikes...everyone who does is irredeemable. =p Grim, Airline Food is served in the Air...it cannot but help to be up.
  8. Relationships are a good idea at most ages...They allow people to have a relationship, and learn all about it. On the other hand having a relationship can skew your perspective by quite a considerable degree, and it can be impossible to recover your previous perspective...though if you had a bad perspective that is obviously good =P
  9. Did I say you were tramuatised? I think my inference was "You are loney and looking for people to talk to, preferably people who don't criticise you, and especially people who you can feel superiour to." All methods have a degree of success...
  10. I am not entirely sure how your increase in activity after Lei came back caused Lei to come back before your increase in activity. I won't patronise you with Freudian Paradoxes related to the first sentence...But I will say you don't have to be physically (or mentally) attracted to her for you to try to impress her. Given that myself, Grim, Nex and Earth are all more or less hostile to you, and, as you say, you have lost one of your friends, and you were/are bored during the break, its not unreasonable for you to seek people to like you, and because you are a man that means impressing people into liking you. And I will point out that conversations about who blocked who and why they did are not exactly productive, but just lead to recriminations.
  11. *Opens Door* No, just Professor Mather. "CIGARS ARE NEVER JUST CIGARS!!!" And yes, Lei, I appologise for pairing you with Mather, it is just that he goes out of his way to impress you so there is an upsurge in his tedious postings whenever you are around, which links you with his tediousness, even though it is not your fault. Also it is somewhat hard to notice a difference between several months ago and now because you were not here during the intervening period so: Major -> Naught -> Minor looks like High ->Low -> High.
  12. The word Illiterate comes to mind.
  13. Using Nuclear Weapons as Standard Ammuntion was American policy for the second half of the cold war...Apparently Air to Air Missiles are not dangerous unless they are nuclear tipped. Grim, the only other alternative, that I can think of, is to create a Backroom 0.5, which we take it in turns to visit and respond to the innane ramblings. If we don't then they innevitably gravitate back to here...

  15. The fact is that Lei appears to care, and since there not everyone posts that their dislike of it, does give grounds for the opposite argument. It is somewhat inherant in discussions on social dynamics that people come to the table with a conception which cannot be changed because everything is built around it. For instance, if we were to claim that the Tavern mostly consisted of Right Wing Extremists (Which we could quite easily do on the basis of Hegemony and the quest for Despotic power, disregard for civil liberties, etc, etc, etc), then unless the majority of the Tavern (Consisting of everyone from RPG to ALG) would need to make an impassioned defence of liberty before the claim would need to be abanonded. If a mere five people claimed that the Tavern was not mostly Right Wing Extremists then we can simply point to examples and claim people are ignorant/misrepresenting things. Likewise you can point to the various political positions adopted in discussions and make a case that we are mostly Left Wing Radicals, or Centerists. So unless there is some incentive to change people's minds...Something to be gained from abandoning their previous position...There cannot be change, and since Mather and Lei see each other being interested, and see the Back Room being used for Off Topic Discussions, which do occassionally encompass our personal lives, it is therefore fair to assume that it can be used in that way. Ultimately they are not wrong and we don't really have an arguement. "Mather and Lei are doing the same as everyone else, so stop it." Also given that there is no downside for Mather and Lei, other than generating activity, which they like, there is no reason for them to stop. Similarly there are few downsides for us, since we run circles around them when they do respond...Or at least we think we do, they may think differently...And when we didn't respond to them at all they posted more often, so it is neccessary while we wish to continue using the Tavern. It is practically inherant in systems where there is not a single unifying authority...people don't have a sense of right and wrong clearly displayed and so they feel free to create their own views, based on their own experiances, which are at odds with other people's experiances (most of the time) and unless one of the groups/individuals rises to power, and wield that power effectively, the competing sides just fight themselves into impotence.
  16. Hehe, I dread to think what 4 months of roleplaying has done to my ability to walk up Primrose Hill (Which locals call Cardiac Hill). Oh well, 20 days. [hide] Points for honesty. [/hide]
  17. Dear blog, I brought a stack of paper today. I was going to buy cups, but my cup printer isn't working at the moment, an account of its missing spring, and the lack of connection to the missing cup printer, but I don't know what you people out in Blogoland would expect since I have never really had any interest in printing cups. In fact I would say that I cared even less about printing cups than the number of people who have an interest in this blog. Oh, I have also discovered that using paper towels causes there to be less paper towels in the cupboard, from this I have deduced that I may have to go to the store to buy more paper towels. BUT I was thinking about this and supposing I went outside and caught a cold, then I would use most of my paper towels blowing my nose and then I would need to buy more towels, clearly it is all a con! Gosh I am smart. PS. I ate two slices of bread today and now I think I am definately going to die! Reply to get me to tell you why!
  18. *You rest* *Everyone except Elgretor died mysteriously*
  19. Huh...This I was not expecting: Content is rather good.
  20. I guess that depends on the caliber of conversation he is aiming for. If someone takes the effort to walk over and say: "Err, do you know you look like an idiot." Then Mather can find out if they recongise his shirt. If they do then they can talk about that, if they don't then they were too different to ever build a meaning bond.
  21. Hold on there Grim, we struck up a conversation with him when he mentioned his hair...Maybe Mather thinks this is how all people talk to each other, it would explain how Norway was such a Utopia. Also, is it a bird, is it a plane? Yes, it page 747.
  22. Rigonauts...Play it. http://engient.com/rigonauts/
  23. In Norway everyone can express themselves in any way they like because Mather will beat you up if you don't. Education is unneccessary, they already know everything, and everyone has a view on the Environment and how the rest of the world should follow Norway's example. In Britain everyone can express themselves and people are allowed to tell you that you look like an idiot. You can expect an education and everyone has a view on the Weather and how the rest of the world shouldn't follow Britain's example. In America self expression is unpatriotic. Your education is your life and everyone has a view on Grade Point Average and how the rest of the USA should follow their State's example. I think that covered everything?
  24. Ah yes, promises from one without experiance, we have no option but to believe everything you say..... You were wearing a shirt? I figured you had used boot polish and blue paint, it doesn't, by your standard of logic, seem any stupider than wearing a shirt.
