  1. If we do take extended voyages then I will take you up on that, otherwise I will just dig it myself/hire some labourers (I really would prefer to use less Undead if possible).
  2. Each of the largish squares is 44 ft The outer circle is made from several dozen steles and is about 330 feet across The inner circle is the Monolith [hide][/hide] And is about 100 feet across The brown is a pit, around 30 meters deep, set into the side of it are several small caverns (inside one of which is my room and the Pit), it is walled inside the stele line currently. The White is laid stone. The Lime Green is farm/herb land. Of future note, I am going to be digging a trench to the lake, from the brown area.
  3. I would recommend a thought out plan, preferably with diagrams, than to 'Lets use ghosts'. If you imagine Stone Henge, then that (*2 size) is my section of the base. I imagine there are your houses, the seamstress, carpenter and smithy around that somewhere. Also remember we are enclosed on 3 sides by the lake.
  4. I am moderately displeased by the undead, and muslim mythos is replete with tales of complacency.
  5. I was, but then I realised that if they went crazy we would need to destroy said monolith, which I (my character) would rather die than let happen. Also it would mean the monolith would be the target of every attack going. Makes more sense to just have the duolith in the pit.
  6. If you don't want to learn the lesson then you are doomed to repeat your mistakes.
  7. You mean apart from Garmund killing you? And its just a lesson you should learn for general roleplaying, if you don't then this will happen again and again, and each time will be less entertaining.
  8. If we have to go with an undead guardian I would propose Nemhain, she has the long range scouting abilities that are most important for our Island. The only real concern is that we can't kill it unless we hit it with good or electrical damage (Not that we could kill it anyway), so if it does run amok we are stuffed (Though true of all of them =-P) @Nef, don't kill players and don't metagame excessively.
  9. Ok, so on request of Nex the session is cancelled. Not just Nex, I have to leave one and a half hours into the session to attend a fire saftey talk. Sorry guys, first I heard of it was about 2 hours ago.
  10. This sounds like the Fetch Quest you are sent on by the village elders before they summon the demon they need you to save them from =P But yeah, exploring the Expanse isn't a bad idea, it might mess with GM events, and would take us away from the base for long periods, which could be troublesome unless we hire overseers and such...Basically GM events have backed us into not being able to leave...Unless we got the Fey to help us hide the base. Elsewise I largely agree with Ross, a few treasure hunting expeditions would be entertaining, wouldn't interfer with GM Quests and wouldn't take us too far from the base...even if my Sneak Attack and Opium damage (Actually, RAW, the Opium would still affect it, but couldn't get addicted) does apply to the undead guarding them...It would give me the opportunity to break out my Battle Poi =p Also for reference, Nerefus' soul counts as 500 gp, but most Gems would only count as 100 gp. Also 1 Cacodemon would usually be sufficent, since you are only saving 25 GP and 1 spell leverl over using Create Soul Gem. If you use Greater Summon then you are using a high level spell slot for 2-5 Soul Gems. Then again, if Grim can harvest souls already then mass harvesting might be useful too. Finally, both summoning Cacodaemons and Creating Soul Gems is Evil, so your souls will suffer.
  11. The thing is we don't have a huge amount of resources, so opening a trading bussiness would be tricky. We could, of course, go and buy slaves and get the Island working, but the outlay would end up being considerable for something that would pay off in a year or three. Hence Piracy in one of those four areas is probably the fastest way to gain those resources, as well as set up interesting plotlines for Retech. Also: I would point out that, even assuming no one actively tries to sabotage the ritual, there is a good chance we will end up summoning something that we can't control, especially given we are level 8 and most of them are CR 15+. I mean RPGs are replete with foolish groups of NPCs who summon a guardian who turns out to be a blight which they can't handle. With all the 'We fly across the bridge missing 1 slat' paranoia it seems remiss to fall into this obvious trope. Added to which huge undead creatures aren't neccessarily the most inconspicious way to defend the base. We could build a Stone, or Iron, Fortification, armed with Ballista and Catapults, or Cannons and Musket Men, or whatever. If neccessary we create the undead to man the battlements, and we place the CR 16 Undead Monster in our under/over-ground lair, for the dramatic reveal at the end of the great battle...Not as the first and only line of defence. There are numerous reasons beyond 'It goes mad and attacks us' for this...Consider if we are attacked by multiple groups, or if we are attacked by 'that one enemy' that our undead has trouble with. Also consider that 'One big enemy' means that our first responce is also our last resort 'Some people are heading towards our base, if they get too close we might not be able to fight them all off.' We need something that is practical, not just cool. (If Star Wars has taught us nothing else...and it hasn't...Big Uber Weapons are not nearly as useful as we like to think)
  12. Really, we want to make the land uninhabitable for a few weeks, but thats all. I think next session we should head to Hyrantam. Its population is only 2,000, so we should be able to do some piracy there, and it is much closer than Chelliax. The region is CN, so there is little danger of getting tracked and killed. Alternatively we could head south to Eleder, with 8,000 population, which is a TN region. There is Senghor with 26,000, and part of the Mwangi Expanse which probably offers richer pickings, but far more risks. Finally we could head towards the Isle of Kortos and simply engage in ye olde generic piracy. The other options are are invade the Kobold town (Which is high risk, low reward, we can just set the rats off at the beginning, go adventure and come back the session after next), go deep sea diving (spends most of our reserve of cash on suits and has unknown rewards/risk) or go after the Whispering Way/Fey/Drow (which is doable, but dangerous)
  13. Aye. We can change it back next week. It seems somewhat silly to cut the session an hour short because of someone who hasn't joined yet, and someone else who is not 100% reliable (Sorry Earth). I think everyone else is happy with Saturday.
  14. I love English people *Playing Ufo: Extraterrestrial, alien shoots a tree by accident* "What if aliens thought that trees were the dominate form of life and started wiping them out? It would screw us over pretty bad, where would we get our paper from? We would be forced to live in a truely paperless society." Random thought -> Complaint -> Social Commentary.
  15. Quick question. http://paizo.com/store/byCompany/p/paizoPublishingLLC/pathfinder/companion/v5748btpy86j7 And http://paizo.com/products/btpy8k8r?Pathfinder-Roleplaying-Game-Ultimate-Magic Have spells by the same name, and the SRD only uses the Ultimate Magic one. Can we choose to use the old one?
  16. Victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [hide] [/hide]
  17. I do find it rather amazing that there are so many "Hey, do you want TV/loans/etc without a contract, forms to fill in, or even basic background checks into you? If so then simply click here, enter somebodies details and, in just a few short minutes, you can have whatever we offered you." deals at the moment. Its like people have just abandoned the idea that anything should take any time at all, and so are willing to forgo any protection if it speeds up the process. If that just exposed themselves to a good thrashing then that is one thing, but when they expose other people, people who aren't even connected to either the company or recipient, then it crosses a line.
  18. Mather, if you still have an issue I will be on IRC, since other people have an issue with the discussion.
  19. Take Dodge and Mobility if you can. They require 13 Dexterity but are fairly handy for a Wizard. Split Slot is a good choice. Combat Casting... Improved Counterspell Jackal Blood Skill Focus Spell Focus + Varisian Tattoo Spell Penatration Lunge http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/feats-db
  20. Historically your defination of me has always been Europe's perception of the British...And Europe's defination of itself has been your defination of you. Unsuprisingly Britain is the country who's Empire spanned a quarter of the Globe, while Europe contented itself to fight pointlessly amongst itself and occassionally distract Britain. Then again, I am not the one who is saying: "I could have murdered you easily" While also saying "You ran away from a girl in a frilly dress" Nor claiming that playing music for coin is a benign act. I won't get into a flame war with you over this, so either leave and take your addiction, or stay and try to be productive. What Race Nef?
