First of all, its great that you took the effort to use that old analog camera. In my oppinion, the first one is best. The moment was just right, a black and white version like this would look better then a colored one. The second photo has a big contrast. I think it is too big, you cant really focus on anything. (The man, or the sign?) The last 2 are abstract, turned out nice also. Do you have a digital camera also? (I thought you had one) Anyway, keep it up. Theyre great, people can learn from this.

I expected this thread to be a total mess :shock: Well, I moved to another house, and I have no internet connection. Exept for now, this is my fathers laptop. This thread stays in a break until thursday, unless another moderator updates it. Instead of having the two categories - manipulated and unmanipulated, you could have a stitched and cropped category. That way those without a tripod and the photoshop techniques could enter the cropped category and those who have the time and the know-how could enter the stitched category. How does that sound? So you meen more of an advanced-part and a less-advanced part? Ofcourse, the winner of the advanced part will get more points when he/she gets first :) I was thinking about ending this the 7th, but I am not sure when my parents decide to break the internet connection. (Im going to move, so that will cause trouble with the new connection) So I wont wait for more votes, 7th = voting over.

Youve got some nice photos, Ill give some CC. First: Nice colors, im curious what the part underneath it would look like. Second: Smart use of shapes, square and circle. Got to go, no time for the rest :) But I have to say, the last one is very good. No signs of bad manipulation, almost real. Keep it up, youre good at this.

I know about that, but it would get less attention from other users. :wink:

Since The Gallery is for discussions of photographs also, I thought Id post this :) Someone told me about this site about a photographer, Some of these photos are truely amazing :o WildThingsPhotography The site does not allow copy and pastes, so I cannot show pictures I like. Subjects I like were the bears, and the eagles. Take a look around, this really inspired me :)

I think it looks pretty good for a start. It does need shading and all, but its a big step in the right way. To improve it, read some shading tutorials at the Gallery FAQ. :wink:

Updated. About the new theme, (Good, I have your attention :) ) I was thinking about Panorama. Is this ok with everyone, I dont know if everyone has ever tried it, or has a tripod to make one. (I have never made one myself, thats why I thought it would be nice to try it in a competition.) Opinions please!

The handle of the sword is very fat, and that makes his hand small. You did use shading, but you spread it out to much. Some dots are to far from the place that needs the shading. Looks good, keep practicing. (Lets see how the censor worked out, lol) :)

:-k The subforum would have upto 10 topics, there is not much to make a contest of. On the other hand, It would clean The Gallery and leave the Sticky part for other things then contests. Ill just wait and see what the rest wants. :)

I like the idea behind it, even though the fake is easy to make. If you want to improve it, you could try to add more ducks at the end. (That meens it starts with a few ducks, and ends with alot of ducks. Like the whole river is full of them)
