ok, i tried without firewall and it did not work. when i used the link that you gave it gave me a different update other than the one that had already failed and the new one failed aswell.

I am having a problem with windows updates. Every time i try to install them, every single one fails. This is my computer: and this is a picture of the problem: i have searched multiple times on microsoft's website and found nothing that can help me. I have also searched google with no avail.

The 8000 series is junk, a 7900GS will far out preform an 8500gt. I was just recommending one for his price constraints.

Sorry to double post but, i bought an nVidia 8500gt videocard and a CoolMaster 430w PSu and they work great. Thanks for the help to those that did.

Hello, I am now in the market for a new video card for my computer. I have a budget of about US$100-US$250 for it. This is my computer stats: I have a 305w powers supply.I know for sure that I have a PCIe x16 slot for a video card if that helps. If it is a wheel mouse try taking off the ring that keeps the ball in and clean out the inside. Mine used to do the same thing until I cleaned it and now it works fine.

on your comp Start->Run...-> type cmd in the box that opens, then after the command prompt opens type ipconfig Making the IP static has nothing to do on your computer. You would just figure out the DNS servers and one of the IP addresses that your modem/router will respond to, and enter those numbers into the Xbox Live network setup menu. but doing an ipconfig gives you the numbers you need to set the ip to static on the xbox

So something like ATI X1800 will bring up some good results. I know the information on the site doesn't state that card, but it's a few steps up from the 9600... yes, i did read what bmms had to say. If you read one of my other posts in which i stated i have the say graphics card on my laptop on this computer as my laptop but that died so i cant use it anymore. i am not sure if it is a graphics card problem because some of the graphics show up(like the mouse.) the sound also plays. I have tried to play on a friends computer before on a non-supported video card and a specific window popped up that said it was not supported.

I would think it would work, I believe it is the same card that I used on my laptop before, I would try to check my laptop but it is completely dead. Some stuff appears on the screen, just the mouse(special guild wars pointer not the normal mouse) so I don't really think that the video card would be the problem. If that is the problem, how much does a good new video card cost?

I do not think it would be the graphics card shutting down completly, I just go the computer yesterday... It worked on my laptop but that crapped out.

First of all, here are my computer stats: I downloaded the official client from http://www.guildwars.com. I installed it and it downloaded the required files perfectly fine but when I go to play it, the screen goes black and the GuildWars mouse pointer appears. I wait about 2 minutes and the screen changes to the "blue screen of death" and it tells me to restart the computer. I did that and it still does it. I tried looking at the support section of the GuildWars website and I found nothing pertaining to what I needed. I tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it to no avail. What should I do next?
