A lot of this sounds just like Morrowind (which is infinitely better than RS...but is sadly a single player RPG...so you can't play it for extended periods of time like RS). I like the ideas, I think they'd make for a better game...it'd just be hard to do it without people complaining nonstop. You could make runecrafting like...mana pot making. Make it exactly the same except you take a bunch of w/f bowls to the alter and it makes stackable mana restore pots. But that'd be essentially the same as it is now...just sound cooler. I think it'd be the only way to avoid serious whining though. The schools of magic might work if you left open the option for players to stay in a general category...but if they commit to a certain school they'll be stronger in that skill set. The other ideas are just aesthetical value things that I think could get changed without little whining at all. I doubt it'll ever happen, but I'm in favor of it.

A dragon hally is essentially a 2h anyway. It's about as slow...and about as strong as I'd imagine a d 2h would be. Plus it has reach. The 2h would either have to have much better stats than hallies do, or have a great special for people who use halberds to use them in their place.

Like I said before: whips 2 feet away are useless against a sword, which is why the whip in runescape is stupid. But from a 15-20 ft radius, a whip would be far superior to a 3-foot sword. And even if someone is charging you, you could still disarm them or knock them off balance. Wouldn't work every time...but neither would the person with the sword charging. Obviously, whips can't pierce armor or do any damage against it...but neither can a sword that's as flexible as elastic. That was my point. Anyway...that's just my viewpoint. Not flaming what other people have said, just stating what I think. This idea is actually pretty cool...but it would need a little tweaking...like, instead of a bow, why not make the inside hollow...a pipe to shoot blow darts out of. The outside would be thick and in a diamond type shape so it'd still be a sword, and the inside would be hollowed out in with a small tiny circle. That's not a very good idea...at all. I know that, but I'm just using it as an example. I think the multi-weapon is cool, I just think that in order for it to be feasible, it'd have to be changed a little bit.

But in that case they'd probably have to change smithing entirely to maintian consistancy; meaning you'd have to smith handles fow swords out of gold, make the wooden part of maces, use the feather for full helmets and so forth. Maybe it'll happen down the future, but I don't think a huge change would be welcome quickly. Exactly. There are just too many little things like that that don't make sense. I couldn't say it any better.

Nope. They look exactly the same. Only real difference (other than a negligible boost to prayer) is that one costs about 1000x what the other one does.

Have you ever seen a whip? A real whip? I guarantee you that a guy with a whip would soundly beat a guy with a sword. As long as we're talking about real life: whips are usually about 10-15 feet long. They can easily reach that distance and either grab a person's hand or take their weapon from it. They're used in torture and in enforcing slave camps (in case you've never been to history class or watched a kung-fu movie.) With the momentum that is gained by it being lashed around, it could pierce armor about as easily as a really really flexible sword could. Swords are about 3-5 ft. They are completely rigid. You gain little momentum from them... unless they somehow managed to cut the whip before they got beat down, they're really not a match for someone who knows how to use the whip. As for making a sword...or two swords especially into a bow, that won't work...lest, as Felicia said it stunk as a sword or a bow. Whips are made to be flexible. Their whole strength is that they get lashed around. Swords are based on precision and their strength is that they are hard and stiff...unless of course people want fencing in runescape. You said a whip couldn't pierce and armor in "midevil" (medieval btw) times. Well, imagine a sword that had a massive curve in the middle of it and could be bent with relative ease? That wouldn't even be able to cut toast. The curve might help, but for it to get any power in it, the bow would still need to bend...which would make for a weaker sword. Bows are flexible. Their whole integrity is based on the fact that they are a solid, flexible piece. Swords are supposed to be strong and rigid. Anyway, that's just me. I don't feel like getting in a flame war, I've been in my fair share of those. That's just my opinion. Just as a side note: I well realize that whips aren't like that in the game...their strength is based on being farther away than your opponent can reach...which is why it is fairly stupid that they are the best close range melee weapon. Just thought I'd throw that out there before I got flamed for it.

I personally don't know anyone who goes by GMT as their main way of telling time...and even fewer people who are going to bother going to look it up every time they want to plan a pk trip. I say they put a ticker with GMT time on the RS screen. Call it RST or GMT, it doesn't matter, but it would be nice to have it easily accessible.

I have met quite a few more than that in fact. Why would I be writing that most are stupid if I hadn't? I don't claim to be better than them. I simply said that most of them are annoying. I need sleep because construction takes a certain amount of endurance. I have a level 92 because during school I only get to work two days (by law I can't work much more). I agree with you in part. After having to be around 13 year olds at school and on rs, I do suspect that I was probably equally annoying as the ones that I have to deal with now. I'm not saying what I expect them to be. I'm talking about what I think that most of them are: stupid. That's not to say that that won't change. This is the kind of stupidity that can be grown out of, not one from lack of intelligence. Anyway, once Crim and Muijs get tired of arguing, I'll probably stop with this thread. Some people posted that they had even been begged by level 100s. So, just as there may be beggars at any level, there may be other noobliness at any age. You want to argue that most of these noobly people are less than 15? Fine, but it's not that important. You don't usually get harassed long enough to even find out someone's age, and you still end up feeling annoyed. Also, if a 12-13 year old seems a bit immature, well, there is an age difference! There's no denying that. If you take someone that age and tell them to give a presentation at their dad's office, it may not go so well. Yes, there are general differences between the age groups, I don't see why it's discriminatory would to establish that. After all, if you're 12-13 and you DO say things appropriate for your dad's office meetings, well, you'll probably end up on Kids Say the Darndest Things with Bill Cosby. Okay, I read your thread about how you're quitting rs, a perfect example of trying to sound smarter than you are. Most people that play that are under...13 I'd say, are complete and total morons. They are constantly talking trash, following you around asking for money or to duel, then calling you a noob because you refuse to do either. Man has this forum gotten spammed...it's gone so far from what it was orignally meant to talk about. First off, I'm not talking about p2p items, it's really more of a problem in f2p. I'm not complaining that dragon costs too much. I'm actually suggesting that rune cost more or require better stats to be worn. I started off saying rune is far too easily accessible, and we've started complaining that dragon costs too much.
