SANDS OF TIME
yea the lines need to be a little bit cleaner but it got messed up along the way. But no none of it was done in bryce. I couldn't make an hourglass in bryce even with a tutorial, a professional teacher, and a gun pointed to my head. I suck. I really wasted the 50$ on that one! But no shape and gradients done in photoshop. i originally drew the hourglass with gradients then added some relfections on the bottom base (distorted cuz i screwed up). but when i added the floor i forgot to make the glass part transparent. i also see the blurred sand on the right (top glass) but sharp on the left. but yea its all photoshop, terragen, and a few stock images. btw* keep in mind this my first ever try at something like this i've always done plain landscapes and abstracts. maybe some simple drawings.

SANDS OF TIME
My first ever try at something the likes of this I've always done stuff like abstracts and landscapes. Ok i got bored, saw an article a magazine about time running out for earth, and decided to illustrate that into image form using mainly photoshop. Here's what came to mind Heres the rundown: No 3d modeling programs used (i dont have any except bryce, which i suck at) Everthing done in photoshop except Skies - Terragen Base Water coloring - Terragen Palm tree leaves (not base/trunk) - royalty free stock collections the random objects such as the bottles and clock - royalty free stock collections. Obviously floor, hourglass, sand were done with photoshop. I know my sand could use a little work. :D C/C welcome EDIT* I had pasted the floor in last, and so the original glass was drawn as a gradient forgot to make it clear, but other than that keep the c/c coming* as you can tell everything else than whats in the glass is kinda dull and not very saturated even a little bit blurry (hourglass blurred by accident and couldnt fix) to make the focys be whats inside which is the beatuiful beach slowly being destroyed by man

photoshop help - NEW PROBLEM (FIXED AGAIN) -ty for the help
Any company selling a peice of software for $600 deserves to have it stolen. obviously this shows your ignorance and your moral values. and besides e-bay can be your best friend (just dont buy pirated software). :) Ok sorry for spamming and flaming. Now please no-one post something like this or as pointless, I'd rather not have this locked. Thank-you. Still waiting for suggestions. I mean i need the the filters for some images that won't work (the ones i dont neeed it works, Thats murphy's law for ya). For now i just have to copy, create a new document that will let me use filters and paste. And presto, change it how i need and paste it back, but this is a lot harder, more time consuming, and very annoying. So still looking for a solution or hypothesis to the problem. :D

photoshop help - NEW PROBLEM (FIXED AGAIN) -ty for the help
no I bought it, or actually my mom did. I am firmly opposed to piracy (spelling?). It's just recently wiht my comp getting virus (dont think this had anything do with it), i just feel cursed. I also notice that if i change the preset when creating a new document to default everything works fine. If i have too ill just reinstall, but i woudl really like for someone who knows about this to help me without re-installing.

photoshop help - NEW PROBLEM (FIXED AGAIN) -ty for the help
New Problem I'm full of them. Like i said i prefer any other comments than reinstall, because come to my house and look in my attic/storage closet. You'll see hundreds probably thousands of cds piled up in a somewhat organized way but got torn down. Since when im done with a cd i usaully toss it in there (lol). And somewhere in the haystack is a needle, and that would be photoshop. So...... well my problem is sometimes some of my filters disappear, some dont like blur, noise, sharpen, other. . even when i create a new document they disappear.....sometimes.......but when i open previous work i have done they come back. So is there something i accidentaly change or do to make them disappear like that. It has to be because recently PS has been -beeeeeeeepp- up lately.....hehe...... Thanks for all the help.....since im not in the technical field of photshop, just artistic :D

A few landscapes
the 3rd one should be used the. the 2nd looks very awquard, and the third looks like the sea of blood, and doesnt contrast enoguh. Lava is a brighter red and doesnt behave like water, it has whats called "plasticity" (Solid yet flows like liquid). It contrast more and has brighter colors, that seem a little bit hotter as the dull red seems cooler. You can create this in photoshop. So yea use the 3rd one.

I need some help with my siggy
Ok this is one term that anyone doing any type of cg graphics needs to know. Pixels are the dots that make up the image. A computer doesnt read image as a whole, but rather as tiny little dots each a seperate color. All graphics you see on your monitor are made of pixels. Resolution is the amount of pixel in that are Ex. 800 x 600 means a grid of 800 pixels in length 600 width. So the total pixels to fill that area would be 480,000(800 x 600). Which is a very low resolution and will produce lower quality images and if your monitor is set to that then everything will be big. Set it to something like 1280 x 960 (my montior) The quality will greatly increase as i can hold more colors and detail. And with your monitor set to that things will appear smaller (such as text, and icons, blah blah). If im confusing you, which most likely I am just google the word pixel. Now MsPaint is fine for pixel and isometric sigs, which have a kind of cartoony feel. But for these other types youll need something like Adobe Photoshop (couple hundred $$$$) or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. Possibly even a 3d modeling program such as 3ds max, maya, or bryce. for landscapes you can use the free terragen. To find the download just google it.

flash help
lol stick figure the most basic of animation. hmmmm....... Im gonna make a nice lil tut sorry not many pics tho and not too detailed, im not the teaching kind of person. Were gonna make a stick run across the screen! Create a new Symbol Insert>create Symbol type=movie clip Lets name it stickrun1 now that your editing the movie clip timeline and not the main (_root) Create 6 new layers name them head, body, R arm, L arm, L leg, R Leg. draw your stick figure with each parts in the appropriate frame with the line tool, and for the arms and legs draw in two parts seperated by the knee or elbow! IMGSTICK!FGDGGDSGRDFGDGDGDGDGDSGGDFGDGD Higlight all the layers press and create 3 keyframes Lock all the layers so we don't mess with any other part than what we are editing. Unlock the left Knee layer. use the black arrow tool and place it over the knee join move it up and right a little bit so its like the stick picked his back foot up, do the same with the leg and make it match it all images or whatever you want. to get a visual image go look at yourself in the mirror running with imaginary stick lines drawn on you Lock the layer and unlock the next layer to edit and edit the same way for each frame to make them some thing like keyframe 1: Keyframe2: Keyframe3: then select the last key frame go to actions and click the view options icon(the one with the arrow). and choose expert mode (you can switch back at any time i just use expert cuz i do stuff like code 3d engines in actionscript) on the first line type in gotoAndPlay(1); (type it exactly word for word, dont mispell, and its case-sensitive.) now go back to scene 1. Create a new layer and name it stickrun1. now press ctrl+l and drag and drop the movie clip onto the stage. now create about 32 frames (not keyframes) and the right click them in the layers pallete and click create motion tween. Now right click the last frame and click convert to keyframe. then in the last frame move the stick figure all the way to the other side of the screen.now play your movie. How it Works: The clip repeats itselt in the walking animation standing still but in the actual movie were moving the movie clip as it does the wlaking animation to create the illusion of walking. note you may need to adjust the amount of frames in the tween to make it look better. Since i did not test this movie out myself i just created this tutorial in my head and sticks are drawn in ms paint but you get the idea. and my tut should be close enough!:)

can u plug in 2 harddrives?
yea...if you're asking that question i say buy an external as an internal you'll prob' screw up your computer. Go buy one at staples or Wal-Mart, You sohuld only need about 20 GB if you're downloading songs and even that is a lot of songs. An Internal (most likely IDE), you need to open up your computer (un-plug power cord first) make sure your grounded, or you have a grounded wrist wrap (buy one from Lowe's) so you don't fry everything with static (30,000-60,000 volts (yet low current so it doesn't harm you at least)) then see if the cable connecting from your motherboard to your HD is IDE(it is big and flat with big connectors) or serial small cord, small connectors much like a phone charger. IF its serial your going to have to go buy another one if its IDE it should have 3 connectors on the cord. Two of them should be close together while the other is a little bit farther apart if it has only two connectors total then you need to go buy one. Now on the harddrive you have now there should be little pins with a little square thingy around them get some tweezers (make sure your grounded when touching anything inside or youll be buying another comp I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR IGNORANCE) and pull it out then place it on the two pins thats labeled as master. Now on your new hard drive take the pins and put it on slave now you connect the master one on the end of the cable and the slave one on the one in the middle. Then connect the other end to the motherboard. (if you have to apply lots of force most likely you will bend the pins so you might have it wrong the cables should have little notches in it to make it go in only one way but the others you have to look on the connector and one of the holes is covered up and it should match the one on the male connector where theres no pin (also the red line matches up to pin 1) now if you've gotten through that part it should work. If you have two different cords cnnect two to different HD's then set the pins to cable-select or CS If its serial just plug into the slot next to one on the motherboard, there should be at least two or three of them (serial is faster) and plug it on the HD But i recommend buying external and just follow the instructions giving if you have no experience or knowledge of the innards of the comp

Anyone here play Footbol
Juggling is where you take the ball and keep it up in the air with everything but hands and arms, you can use your shoulders. The most used body parts are the foot and thigh, and maybe the head. If you never juggled before make sure you know how to flick the ball up with your foot and catch it, very simple im sure you already know how:) Pick it up drop it on your foot and kick it straight back up using the laces wihtout making it spin much. then just keep using your feet kicking back up and dont let it touch the ground. Then try using your thighs, your head, shins, back, shoulders, its basicly a game of keepup but there are some sweet combos and moves you can do with it the most common are the crossover and the around the world(you trap the ball on top of your foot then swing your foot around the ball and hit it back up. The crossover is hard to explain you kinda cross your feet over the other and kick the ball up. To see some vids and some other things about juggling(called freestyle soccer) go to beyondfootball. com (without the spaces, and if the link is bad then just search it up on google, thehave tons o' vids) Its very good for attacking players as it demands quick reflexes, expert control, and balance, and it helps you improe those aspects which improves your game
