  1. I enjoyed the visual spectacle of the quest, more than I enjoyed the quest itself. The quest to me seemed far too self-contained and unexplained. There was no explanation as to where these creatures came from (other than from the Smugger's journal), what they were doing and why they needed the people (I assume it is to do with reproduction). Then we were told by Gudrik that there's every chance there will be more of the crassians under Ashdale so I thought it might be a new, lower level slayer monster or something and I went back only to find every entrance to the sewers/tunnels blocked. So there are probably more, but nobody is going to do anything about it? I know we're supposedly going to be able to kill the boss again later, but that seems like the kind of thing that should have been released with the quest. Maybe I am just being picky. Like I said though, visually I was really impressed with the quest. The rain and the reflections were really well done and the whole atmosphere created by the imagery and the music made the quest enjoyable, even if the story wasn't so much.
  2. Forget the new quest, cows have been graphically updated! Really though scalable combat and rewards sounds pretty good and, if it works properly, hopefully future novice quests will be the same just to keep the high levels content.
  3. Apparently toggling your camera from RS3 to Classic is a temporary fix for it, currently no permanent one though as far as I am aware.
  4. How is that in "in other news"? A somewhat important update. Helping make Slayer slightly more profitable, although I can't imagine the gloves will be pricey for too long.
  5. A Jmod was looking around for inspiration for a name for the last of the Elder Gods, chewing on his/her pen whilst in deep thought. They looked at the pen and saw it was made by Bic. The Jmod in question felt that it was too unoriginal so changed the 'c' to a 'k'. True story.
  6. [hide]I think the dungeon with Therragorn in was the one from Birthright of the Dwarves where we chased the memories around the room? Could be wrong though[/hide] I can forgive the re-hashing of pre-existing areas for quests where lore is the main focus as long as it doesn't take anything away from the quest. I'm a little bit disappointed in the Celestial Dragon dungeon, thought they might've done something cool with that but I probably won't be down there too often unless Celestials are slayer tasks.
  7. Fate of the Gods is the quest that requires 75 Divination. Too many quests to keep track of! Decent quest, short but I'm glad we were actually supposed to work things out for ourselves for a change.
  8. I'm ok with Dungeoneering rewards winning that poll as the skill is dying somewhat as more people get 99/120/200m in it which makes it harder for others to train. Daily challenges are mostly fine (except for Beacons and Ceremonial Swords), the re-roll would be nice though. Neither here nor there with regards to jewellery as I don't use it, maybe that's a sign it needs an overhaul. As for the BA one, really couldn't care less but I'm really not surprised that what is essentially the "blow it up" option is winning.
  9. They actually transferred the guy who was working on the Mac issues to another project and only brought him back recently when a graphical update caused various parts of Runescape (Grand Exchange, Draynor) to flicker violently (christened "seizure bars" by Reddit) for as long as you remained there (previously it was only a few seconds) which caused people to suffer from headaches and nausea. Only took nearly 3 years to fix :D Does seem a bit short-sighted to not have at least one Mac lying around though, particularly when they have a Mac client. I know they used to have them a few years ago.
  10. I appreciate Mod Osbourne tries to respond to as many questions as he can, but when 50% of them are already answered by this month's BTS it does get a bit ridiculous. Also somewhat worrying that a lot of the responses regarding future content were essentially "POLLS FOR EVERYTHING". Really hope we get that Nomad quest though, that was the first quest released after I got my Quest Cape and the first quest I actually paid attention to so I'd love to see Nomad get some closure.
  11. Sounds like it's going to be a really interesting quest, the lore sounds really good and that dragon rider armour *drools* I assume they've thrown that in there to give players with 99 Summoning a reason to kill them, hopefully they'll be Slayer assignments too. Do wonder what class the armour will be though, the current stuff we have is "all"...
  12. HAX! 1000% legit. Plz it's an SGS cosmetic thing. Until I get an external CD drive for my new laptop, I have no photoshop so RIP same sized pictures. Also no AA either, this makes me sad. And no, I don't have any idea what happened to those first two images. Enjoy the pixelly goodness.
  13. So I took a hiatus from RS for two weeks due to social obligations/illness/pokemon Y/SAO. Now I'm back and mastering the art of grinding xp on RS and Y at the same time. All skills now 93+. Now to drag 7 skills up to L94 D:
  14. After seeing the results of the Divination poll, please Jagex stop.
  15. Hold the phone, what freaking herb gives 2.4m / hr/run?? Dwarf weed is about 3m gp/hr, possibly a bit less.

  17. Behind the Scenes - February 2014 A new minigame, reworked demon drops and our first quest of the year. Bring on February! One of a Kind Grandmaster quest, members only Research carried out by Mr Mordaut - the most knowledgeable of dragons - suggests that Hannibus the dragon rider could well be alive, locked in stone and hidden beneath the earth. Adventurers who seek him out will uncover the library of Robert the Strong - the world's most feared dragon killer - in a globe -trotting quest of discovery. Finding out that he is the last of his kind will no doubt be an intimidating prospect for this noble creature, but the path he takes will depend entirely on how you choose to guide him. With requirements of 79 Magic, 74 Summoning, 67 Dungeoneering (some of the highest ever required) and a bunch of quests to complete, this is a true Grandmaster quest, aimed at the most intrepid and experienced of adventurers. It's a lore-rich romp across the world, revealing much about the dragons' as-yet unknown history, and its rewards include dragon rider armour a dragon rider amulet, and a new training area featuring the recent poll-winning celestial dragons. Demon Drop Table Improvements Free players and members Fighting demons will be a more rewarding experience after this update, as we’ve reworked the drop tables of imps, and lesser, greater, black, abyssal and tormented demons. You’ll find lots less junk and more valuable drops, themed around each specific type of demon. Slayers on an assignment in the Abyss will now be able to loot the brand-new abyssal orb and wand, which fill the currently vacant dual-wield slots at level 75 Magic. Both the wand and the orb allow the casting of Slayer Dart spells and also act like a staff of light, thus saving runes. Heist New minigame, members only Heist is a new minigame focused on deception and deduction. Players take on the role of master thieves or stalwart investigators, and compete on randomly generated town maps styled after iconic Gielinor locations. As a robber, your goal is to disguise yourself as one of the town's NPC inhabitants, and to remain undetected until you’ve stolen the town’s loot. As a guard, you’re looking to make the robbers give themselves away so you can arrest them, bringing their crime spree to an early end. As a guard, you’ll have access to the latest in investigative tools, while as a robber you'll be able to plan daring escapes and blend into the crowds. It’ll take nerves of steel, a keen eye, precise timing and sharp wits to get the better of the other team. Each map style contains unique gameplay, ranging from rooftop escapes, camel disguises, werewolf infestations and hidden tasks, so every game you play will be different. Performing well will award you points to buy additional abilities to use in the game or generous amounts of bonus XP in Hunter and Thieving. And So Much More… Our smaller updates this month include two brand new seasonal hiscores, focused around healing and the Slayer Tower. We’ve made some cool new in-game props and pets for the winners of last year’s Golden Gnome awards, and there’s also a graphical reworks to the challenge master area in Burthorpe, and low level abilities. Solomon’s General Store hasn’t been left out with some new circus style teleport animations and a new item, known as the wicked pouch. There’s also plenty of Valentine's shenanigans across the world, so look out for special Valentine love notes as you’re playing the game. Polls All of the major updates listed above have already been shaped by you via the Power to the Players poll system. 18. Someone on Reddit kindly summarised a Q&A from last night which mainly focusses on legacy mode: [hide][/hide]
  19. If they are going to insist on doing it, I'd imagine it would be better for everyone involved if they just created a few legacy only worlds and be done with it. Legacy players would never be able to compete with EoC players in combat wether it be PvP or PvM so it's a pointless exercise having them both available. Also I'd think having it confined to a few worlds would make it easier for legacy PvP activities to "thrive" in as much a way as they could.
  20. Because the vast majority of people voting for legacy will be the ones who have no idea how abilities work because rather than trying to learn how it works they just moaned about it until we got to this point.
  21. After using abilities for however long they've been in game, there's no way I could go back to the old "click and wait" style of combat.
