and it would have to drop stuff that is vaguely worthwhile. I like hill giants - decent enough exp, big bones, and you get quite a few runes off them
-
And when the money tied up in rares is dumped on the commodities market? If people are fool enough to buy hats at stupid prices, does it harm you? As long as people want to buy things, there will be merchants. We should be thankful it isn't yew logs and lobsters that are being made really expensive by merchants.
-
This is getting ridiculous. The curve made by the successive quotes is quite pretty though.
On Topic - Train your woodcutting and fletching up. It may take a while, but you'll be able to make yew longs. Then you can make real money. On the way, you can sell willow longs (u) to a general store for 16 each. With the thousands you'll be making, that turns out at quite a nice amount.
Once you can make yew longs, buy logs for 300ea, strings for 150 ea, and sell the finished product for 600ea. Nice money, once you've got the level. You can use this capital to start merchanting properly.

err... i bet ur mining is like lvl 46.......
::sigh::
Sarcasm is in sad state of disrepair in our little world.
Sarcasm and subtle humour should be taught in schools. That way we would be appreciated, instead of the slightly odd looks from those who dont get it. Such is the way of the world though...

I've still got a load of pie dishes from when i was training my crafting up. But apart from making them or buying off other players i'm not sure there is any other way.
btw - i didn't know about the sinclair mansion trick. Thank you for enlightening me!
-
I like the camel look! it gets loads of odd looks, and really creeps out f2p people!
-
Lots of smaller things spread all over your body wouldn't affect you centre of balance so much as a single lump of granite strapped to your back.
BTW If you take a cork, stick a pin in the bottom, and two forks in the sides, with the handles hanging down below the pin, you can balance the cork - on top of the pin - on a wine bottle.
Completely useless, but kinda fun! :D

Wow - there might be more than just 5 people there at once! thats the most i've ever seen in the games room
-
Hey - i wasn't saying i was expecting an update, just that i was disappointed with the update when it did happen (and a little annoyed, since i couldn't find a world to log onto)
-
I get all excited when i realise they were updating while i was world hopping...and it only turns out to be an update to the friends system servers.
I suppose that does meanm that all their energy will be going into the expected new monster.
-
I fletched the 140 logs i had into arrows, and made bronze arrow heads for them
-
Ar-Doin (to rhyme with coin)
Its spelt like a French word, so you should use the French pronunciation.
eg. Boulogne

May I please ask what on earth 31337 is meant to mean?
Is it a wierd version of ELEET >>> badly spelt form of 'Elite' (using 3 = E, 1 = L, 7 = T)? if so, why?
-
Well, it seems you lot have had positive experiences (or caused them) I just met a low player.
First he offers me over 1M worth of stuff for my Full Rune and D B axe. This included 3000 yew logs. I hit accept, i check 2nd screen, all fine. He 'accidentaly' hits decline. You can guess, in the second trade the 3k logs had turned to 300 logs. Luckily i spotted it, and escaped still with my stuff (and a little annoyed - it would have been a good deal!)
However, on the plus side thats the first time ever that anyone has tried to scam me.
-
that is really low. Given that some players go around giving out stuff to people in Lumby, taking a dead newbs only worldy possessions, value 100 gold tops, is just...well, low
-
I dis-agree. What Jagex is trying to do is keep it simple. Adding all of that complication will not help the 9 year olds
- Watchen
If you do everything with an aim to not confuse the most easily confused, then nothing would get done. The 9 year olds would learn from it.
This is a great idea, but perhaps not for Runescape. It would mean making changes far too radical, which is, I assume, the reason the original poster said they didn't think Jagex should do it.
For a new game, built from scratch, this idea would rock as an inventory system.

No to the veg thing, sorry I wasn't paying attention to who I was replying to. Baby has a cold... along with my wife, my toddler, and myself sigh.
Seems like everyone i know has a cold, i'm just getting better myself. Hope you lot recover soon!
-
Yeah, thats a great idea. I loved the Enakhras Lament cutscene as well. Would you have a 'theatre' like you do on FFX, or should you be able to atch them anywhere?
-
To Evrae:
I think that it should be applied to everything that could possibly be false. I would much rather take more time than be duped. Everything else you said = true and I didn't think it was funny but oh well. Also where is your dang vege lol?
Thats what i meant - you need to work out what could be untrue or misleading first
Hey, my sense of humour is slightly warped - someone making of fool of themselves like that is kinda funny to me (but only 'kinda' :P )
My veg is still carrots - do we have to do a new one each post?
-
Lol, that is funny. Mean, but funny.
There are so many potential uses for that poorly cooked karambwan.
-
Wouldn't it be hilarious if there was a completely random set of items which would make a D long. And Jagex hadn't told us. If you were in charge, wouldn't you want to do something like that?
-
I would have to say that this is a well thought out response and I think that this form of "cynicism" should be applied to everything that one encounters. If you take every single thing that you read/see at face value you can look forward to a life of constant disappointment. People lie and twist "facts" to better their own position in life regardless of the consequences, at times. This, of course, does not mean that all things are lies and all people are first decietful and second truthful. It merely means that all information acquired should be taken with a grain of salt.
I completely agree. However, you shouldn't aply this to everything, since it would take far too long. Only on certain things. For instance:
- Anything a politician says
- Anything that looks like an opinion disguised as fact
- Anything you disagree with (joke)
In general, you should have low level sensors which detect suspicious material, then you turn your full cynisism on it.
I was midly concerned that this topic would only recieve replies stating that "big words suck" or "reading is hard" because of the age group that runescape is targetted at. I know of only a few confirmed adults (Leesters and... well he and I are the only ones that I know of  but I would assume that there are others.) that frequent these forums so I am glad to know that there is a larger percentage of higher-thinking individuals (be they adults, students, or children) on Tip.it than on RS2. It warms my heart to read intelligent replies regardless of whether or not they agree or disagree.
There is a higher proportion of intelligent people on the forums because more intelligent people are more likely to want to think about and discuss whatever they do. They are more interested in the community and having fun than in pixels. (of course, part of the fun can be aquiring the pixels).
I would like to thank nobody7785 for providing perfect juxtaposition to your intelligent post with this:
wow you have a lot of time on your hands. (in other words i didnt read it but still posted in an attempt to raise my post count).edit: i guess the mods didnt like my terry shiavo sig :?
Hey, at least he was honest! And it was a kinda funny post[/i]

My best drop ever is an addy full helm :(
But my f2p lvl 50 ish brother got a rune full helm off his 5th lesser demon
I've been playing for about three times as long as him - how much does that suck?
-

Stats to what level? i have a GCSE in it, and an A level module.
Are you trying to say it wasn't gibberish? Thats a worrying thought!

Thats a good point - they might be just saying this to keep the advertisers happy, and dont actualy care if we block the ads or not. Depends if they are pay-per-click or pay per month.
