  1. Many of the older suggestions for trimmed quest cape included stuff like all journals. All journals seemed to be one of the top suggestions alongside all tasks. So, if you went back to trimmed you'd just end up with a cape with less stats and similar reqs. If you look at the forum topic on it, people weren't even sure exactly what they wanted on it, and Jagex didn't want to release a cape that didn't have much more on it than the regular Quest Cape http://[Use Quick Find Code]/a=13/c=cq5IbR96t*I/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?341,342,775,65268216,goto,1
  2. I've already started completing a few of the tasks... Some I'll save until I max probably :/ I'm displeased with some of the reqs, but so be it. I can't remember if I asked, will this cape eventually be required for trim or something? The plan is to not have this needed for trim or comp, like the other Mastery Capes
  3. From Kelpie on forums http://[Use Quick Find Code]/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?15,16,700,65663729,goto,8#74 "Yep just to reiterate. The BTS discussed a number of things the Ninja team have and are working on. Some of these things are still a way off. Some of these things will be released this month. God Books was a very early tease, these have only been designed thus far and development probably won't start for a while. As for FoG, this was a Ninja Spotlight, so it was never intended to be a major update. It was also not rushed out like the dumb rumors suggest. In fact this was done quite a while ago, but we wanted to wait until FoG was on rotation again. As for feedback, some of you are making some good points that I would like to address in the coming weeks. For example I think upping the charges on gloves sounds reasonable. Thanks" So, it looks like the glove charges will most likely be increased...how high and if they'll be worthwhile afterwards I don't know.
  4. A master cape is 104M XP.... The MQPC is 211M XP (90 base + 117 DG) or maybe higher if there are higher than 90 reqs for things. PLUS the actual quests, post quest content, journals/lore stuff... It is greater than twice the XP as a regular master cape but even more work on top of that Quest Cape is currently around 41m exp, over 3x the amount of exp of normal skill capes, and that will rise as time goes on. Setting the Mastery cape at 104m for Quests would be weird when the regular cape will probably pass that someday
  5. Even "The Light Within" will be pushing several skills up to 80. They seem to be taking it slow and not jumping any skills straight to the 90's but Quest Reqs are definitely increasing over time.
  6. Except that quests may end up going near mastery for skills like dunge or invention in the future, and it would be ridiculous to have the normal cape require more than the Mastery. Quests have no real upper boundary on reqs, so neither should the Mastery Cape.
  7. In quests you will defeat a boss once, you will use skills but won't train those in the quests. So yeah a req that involves killing a boss once or maybe a few times is fine, a req that involves the near mastering of a skill is not imo (level 90 base for broken home was already high imo, but I could live with that). What you are saying is that if we would make a "master"-mining cape it would fit to add quest-reqs because you get the best pickaxes from quests... That is not what you do while mining (note this is just an example, to explain why I find it strange to add 117 dung) Except in this case the req is exactly like Quests. The req isn't train to 117 dunge, its get the journal and that happens to take 117 dunge. The req isn't the dunge requirement, its the journal. Just like for quest cape, the requirement would be to complete the Plague's End, and that happens to require 75 dungeoneering. Its possible if we ever get Floor 61 we will even have level 120 Post-Quest content. Plus any future quests involving Inventor. Quests don't have an upper limit on the level reqs they can go to, I don't think the Mastery should My point is, that 117 is just a step to high right now. Maybe an option would be to cap it to level 90 dungeoneering right now (so all the lore you can find in dungeoneering till level 90). Imo a master quest cape should be something quest cape holders will strive for. But I think many will not with reqs like 117 dungeoneering, because level 90 base is already far beyond the reqs for quest cape (which is around 75 base, with a few higher levels). So long story short, the skill req difference between quest cape and master quest cape is to big imo. One problem with that though is that they want the Guidelines to be as permanent as possible, so a temporary cap that may change in the future wouldn't work. They intend to never change the guidelines in the future once they're set in place
  8. Yea, I'd have no problem with them boosting the stats, I think bare minimum it should have the Ava's ability.
  9. Of course, it shouldn't be compared to Completionist Cape. I agree with that notion. But on the other hand I also want to see a distinction between the routes players can go to do what they want. Completionist people who want a little bit of everything, have the Comp cape. PVM'ers currently have several titles: Final Boss, Insane Final Boss, Defeater and the latest, Daredevil. Now questers are finally getting something as well. However, unlike the other group, these questers are also pretty close to Comp Cape with the requirements as they stand. In my opinion the Road to MQPC is too intertwined with the Comp Cape for it to exist in the current state. Not surprisingly, but what should be looked at is a road where it distinctively diverse with the Comp Cape in such a way that Comp Cape is still a very far stretch once MQPC is achieved. Just like that is for the PVM people with their titles. Achieving these titles only brings them marginally closer to Comp Cape. I think the problem with that though is that Questing is in many ways similar to your view of what Comp is. Quests involve a little bit of everything. They involve bossing, skilling, lore, storyline, puzzles, D&D's. Thats before you include post-quest stuff which includes even more of it. Questing is very much a Jack of All Trades activity, unlike PvM which is much more specific. So it is hard to look at stuff related to Questing and nail down any specific route that it should go, because it includes a bit of nearly everything in the game except maybe PvP. If you want massively different goals, then we need more achievement type things for individual skills, or PvP, or PvM. Things that aren't really as comprehensive as Questing is. Questers are a diverse group, although the one thing I've noticed that most (not all but most) Questers seem to enjoy but non-questers don't is storyline. Those that enjoy Quests tend to enjoy the storylines and lore in the game. So, I think if the Cape needed to expand to include higher reqs (which the J Mods thought it did) then storyline stuff was the way to go with it.
  10. It think the wrong turn is in comparing it to comp, they're different capes but there will be some overlap. I don't think it matters what it on comp compared to what is on MQPC. MQPC should have everything that fits the guidelines for it regardless of whether its on comp or not. I don't see why QPMC can't be more prestigious than Comp, I don't see why Comp can't be more prestigious than QPMC. They're different capes and shouldn't be compared. Comp will have some reqs that people who want the QPMC won't necessarily want to do (like Reaper req and Morvran's Challenge). QPMC will probably have some reqs that Comp'ers won't want to do. Quests have no upper limit in how high the Reqs can go, so it would be weird to put a cap on the Mastery version of the Quest Cape. Also, they may seem close now, but there will be future reqs that will go on comp but not the QPMC and probably vice-versa. They're both capes that will continue to be added onto in the future. Also, Ports have been confirmed http://[Use Quick Find Code]/a=13/c=1N-l3*ZfGf0/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?373,374,5,65659523,goto,158#1572

  12. Quests involve both Bosses and Skills though, so is there any particular reason the requirements shouldn't as well?
  13. J Mods already rejected all tasks on the Quest Mastery Cape, and also added that all Story-Oriented Content must be on there. Tasks require quests. Therefore they are related and you could argue tasks are post quest rewards bc you get experience and a permanent unlock They outright said no to tasks. Yes, I could argue that the task system is an extension of the quest system, but its clear the J Mods want to go for a more Story-Oriented route. Honestly, this is probably why they avoided doing anything with Quest Cape for so long and players had to demand it for years. The only thing that absolutely and definitely fits a Quest Cape is the Quests themselves. After that its all about degrees of how close something is and defining what makes up questing. you could say "Quests and Post-Quest Content" but what is Post-Quest Content? You need a Quest to unlock Prifddinas, does that mean that things such as the Ravensworn title is post quest content? Is everything in any area that requires a quest to access it automatically post-quest content? Is the Corporeal Puppy pet post quest content because you need quests in order to kill Corp Beast? Some things will be more closely related than others, but all are debateable. So even Post-Quest Content is a hazy minefield. So they decided to go with things directly involved in or unlocked through Quests, as well as looking at what Quests are. They (meaning Mod Manti, Osborne, and probably some other J Mods) looked at quests and decided that the only thing really binding all Quests together is that they were all some sort of story-based content. That doesn't mean they're all deep lore, but they all tell some sort of story. So they decided that going above and beyond (which is what Mastery Capes require) for Questing would require finishing or obtaining all Story-Oriented content. You may disagree with this decision, and I understand why you would, but thats the major issue that a more advanced Quest cape was going to bring. Skills are clear cut, you know exactly whats involved in a skill and you get a nice neat number for training it. Get that number to x and you've completely maxed the level for it. Get that number to y and you've went above and beyond and you get the mastery cape. But Quests can't go that route and never could, "Do all Quests" is already on the basic cape, and there are no more Quests you can do beyond that unlike skills where you can keep training. This Cape was always going to be difficult to make since the whole thing had to be based on interpretation, there are no clear cut lines.
  14. J Mods already rejected all tasks on the Quest Mastery Cape, and also added that all Story-Oriented Content must be on there.
  15. So, you want a Taskmaster Cape so you can trim quest cape? I'd have no issues with them doing that. I don't know why they never released a task master or music cape to trim quest cape. There was talk about it 6-7 years ago but nothing ever came to be Yea, both of those sound cool, Would love to see them.
  16. Sometimes. I've seen J Mods in game with a moderate crowd on a server where it can handle them (like Mod Lee's boss masses) and then other times you get things like when The Drop was released and so many players in one place kills the server.
  17. So, you want a Taskmaster Cape so you can trim quest cape? I'd have no issues with them doing that.
  18. I kinda see where this is going just by making assumptions, but I don't watch TV or movies so this almost went over my head >.> I'm curious about these faction battles, I didn't hear anything about rewards... It's 1am I could have missed it but the community is driven by rewards, could this be dead content already? They're J Mod initiated events and not regular content. Whenever a J Mod pops into game they tend to get people congregating near them anyway so I doubt it'll be dead. Just some acitivity for J Mods to put on when they feel like it
  19. Yea, I was ok when we had come up with guidelines that included nearly no lorebooks and came out to 145m or so exp when we figured out all the reqs that would match them. Which is like 100m more exp than Quest Cape which if you went by pure addition was about right for a Mastery Cape. But it seem Manti and Osborne and whoever else figured going above and beyond Questing required more, so they added a Story-Oriented Content Guideline and it seemed pretty obvious they were adamant about keeping that. So, going by that guideline we brainstormed other things to add and stuff like Ports is clearly Story-Oriented content. I would have been fine keeping the journals and stuff off the cape, but if the Guidelines are going to include "all story-oriented content" then I want the reqs to match that. I can understand their point though when they say that going above and beyond for questing is completing all Story-Oriented content. Story-Oriented content is basically what quests are, so if you expand on that you get stuff like sagas, ports, journals, etc. I mean the content isn't directly quests, but the only thing that is directly quests is quests themselves. So I could see this type of content as continuing in the spirit of questing.
  20. Except a lot of the reqs aren't stuff that is also required for comp. In fact the req you dislike (the dunge journals) is one that isn't required for comp. Quest Cape alone required 41m exp, I don't think its that surprising that boosting Quest Cape to a Mastery would end up with really high requirements.
  21. Unless it changes, the req will probably be 117 dunge for Chronicles of Bilrach
  22. To be fair, The Journals were all added because Manti decided they should be. The original Guidelines the community had only had journals that were post-quest content or were reqs for quests/miniquests/etc. Then Manti came in and said "I really think we should add the other 3 QBD Journals and some of the Dungeoneering Journals." I said there was really no way to justify only putting on those few journals but not all the others, so probably better to leave them all off, because the alternative was putting all the journals on the cape. Then the next revised Guidelines that Manti mention added "Story-Oriented Content" and added a crapload of lore stuff. Once that was on there, the community wanted to make sure that the reqs were complete. So, Manti made the Guideline that the community didn't have, and we just made sure that if the Guideline was staying then the reqs actually matched them.
  23. Yes, but the Quest Cape has always been unique and didn't need to follow the same rules. It never has before. Point is, it's not a quest cape anymore. So let's drop the name and concept and recognize it for what it is now, essentially a Lore Cape. There are plenty of Post-Quest things on there that aren't related to Lore. I wouldn't mind a name change, but Lore Cape wouldn't fit because quite a few of the reqs are not lore.
  24. They probably skipped trim because it doesn't make sense. Capes are trimmed by doing something completely unrelated. You don't trim a cooking cape by cooking, you trim a cooking cape by getting 99 in some other skill. So a Trimmed Quest Cape would come from a Taskmaster Cape or something similar. So, they skipped trim, but the next cape up is Mastery, and with regular quest cape already at 41m, they figured Quest Mastery needed to be a lot higher. Also, to be fair, a lot of proposals for trimmed quest cape previously included journals and/or all books. Its not like these reqs came out of nowhere. Once Manti made it clear that Miniquests,Quest, and Postquest stuff wouldn't be enough we had to figure out what stuff could be closely related.
