  1. Updated Guidelines GUIDELINES: We will ask you to complete all quests, miniquests, unabridged sagas and story-oriented content. Story-oriented content is defined as: - Content that rewards the player with lore (memorium crystals in Elf City) - Content that asks the player to participate in story-rich content (Court Cases) - Content that asks the player to play expanded versions of content that featured in a quest (Temple Trekking) - We will not include content that has a light narrative theme, rather than deep story or connections to a quest. For example, Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza and Livid Farm have some backstory, but are not integral to RuneScape’s storyline. We will ask you to gain story-oriented unique items. These are defined as: - Titles, as long as they show off a story accomplishment (Vyrelord/Annihilator). - Items, cosmetic or otherwise, significant to the storyline (gilded cabbage, Crest of Seren). - Journals and other books The Master Quest cape is not: - A taskmaster cape. - A music cape. - A requirement for the Completionist/Trimmed Completionist cape (just like any other master cape, other than Dungeoneering). - A completionist cape - the requirements may and will clash but that is unavoidable. - An overly RNG-based cape. I.e. Anything similar to champion scrolls' drop rate.
  2. Multi-posted due to lag
  3. Generally, we went for things that were unlocked permanently. If you finish Kiln Once you don't get anything permanent from it. No change in dialogue or anything, and if you lose the Kiln Cape then you gotta start from the beginning and beat the kiln again. Enhanced Fire Cape however is a permanent unlock.
  4. I know Amascut was involved, but I'm not sure if any other Scrying Pool people were. It was really anyone who wanted to get involved on the forum discussing the guidelines right there in that thread. We moved to an fc to discuss reqs that would fit, but that was also announced in the forum thread at the time. Its not like this was a secret nd no one that wanted to take part was excluded.
  5. My side of it, yea, although unfortunately most of the opposite side just responded by calling us lazy or thick headed (despite the fact that I've completed Livid already for comp). So, while I disagree with it being quest related, I do appreciate that you explain your side instead of resorting to just insults =)
  6. Livid came out 5-6 years after Lunar diplomacy and wasn't even mentioned in the quest. All of the minigames going on the cape were actually introduced in the quests. You literally do a Court Case in a quest, you do a stripped down version of the Elder Kiln in a quest, same with phoenix. All the minigames planned to go on the cape are literally done in the quests, and have some sort of permanent unlock. Also, Court Cases are more of a miniquest than minigame anyway since they have their own storyline and aren't repeatable. The Lunar spellbook is unlocked in a quest, but that doesn't mean all future spells for it are quest related. Just like Trouble Brewing is unlocked in a quest area. There's no mention of Livid in any quests, and the spells are a very tenuous link at best. They took two NPC that exist and made a farming minigame thats unrelated to the quest.
  7. you see I was going to go to med school and become a psychiatrist, and from the classes I took over the last 2 years make me think you're quite the... interesting person as for these reqs, I can kinda see why some bossing might be involved. In WGS you had to deal with all of the generals from GWD as well as others from other portions of the game. The books aren't incredibly hard to come by from my experience either. But this cape screams 90+ all to me which I'm not in favor of as mentioned previously. I feel it really separates people interested in quests from people that have better skills, not that those 2 don't share many of the same people... Do you guys see what I'm trying to stab at here? Or am I trying to eat pudding in the dark with a fork? Yea, Dishonour Among Thieves and Broken home both have postquest rewards that require all skills at 90+ to unlock the chests. So the cape will require at least all 90's, although depending where it settles that may not be the highest skills.
  8. No one ever said the livid spells were worthless. But Livid had nothing at all to do with Questing. It was just a minigame that happened to be in a quest locked area, like Trouble Brewing is. Kiln however, was introduced in a Quest, and is a post-quest activity. Its not about what is useful, Kiln is tied to Quests and Livid wasn't. Its not about whats useful but defining what things are linked to quests and what ones aren't.
  9. Yea, sorry about that, tend to combine D&Ds and Minigames in my mind since they were for a long time just called "activities" by Jagex, so I tend to forget which is which, and yea we didn't include Livid because it was completely unmentioned in any quest (except for Pauline being locked up in Dimension of Disaster, but so was Meg and she isn't a quest npc either).
  10. Yea, we included it because they're considered miniquests
  11. Temple Trekking is both introduced and first done in a myreque quest, Court Cases are also first introduced and done in a quest, Beacon Network, and kiln as well. Also the phoenix, and you get 5k slayer exp the first time you kill it so we added that. As far as RNG, none of them are that bad. We have the post-quest addy dragon journals from hero's welcome (not that rare, usually get one within 100 addy dragons and there are 4), Scabarite Notes which are decently common, and Digsite Pendant from Museum. This could of course change as Mod Manti and other players put stuff into it, but there isn't that much RNG-wise that is really linked to quests.
  12. Ahhh k, generally what we ended up with was all things related to lore. So minigames were fine if completely introduced within a quest. RNG is fine if its part of a quest reward. The only boss we included was kiln because kiln was completely introduced through a quest
  13. On the forum and in an fc we worked on revised guidelines and req list to try to reach a consensus. If you want to look them over. http://[Use Quick Find Code]/a=13/c=4puAGFoCBxo/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?373,374,5,65659523,goto,93
  14. The problem is that many people with issues about the cape are some of the most dedicated and involved questers I know. Many are involved in lore specific clans that love to see more quests and push for more quests to be released. It seems ridiculous to say that the Master Quest Cape should be content that isn't for Questers. Many of the people who were saying that the reqs were fine, were people that have posted before that they don't give a damn about quests. People that are looking for another rare item to show off, so the more roadblocks they can put in the way of the cape the better in their minds. Whereas the people against the old reqs were trying to get some reqs that didn't fit removed, while adding more reqs that do fit.
  15. Dev Blog: Quest Point Master Cape The Quest Point cape has always been a difficult, time-consuming cape to attain and maintain. Those who do posses one can boast about having a great amount of dedication and commitment in skills across the board as well as being able to complete the many mind-twisting puzzles that we have with over 200 Quests in the game! The quest point cape, even though it shows the amount of dedication beyond a single 99 in a skill, never had a "trimmed" version and rather than adding an extra colour to the cape's tassels we thought of going a step further and introduce a Quest Point Master cape. What is a Quest Point Master Cape?A master cape shows even greater dedication than a skillcape but with the amount of quests that are available we chose a slightly different approach: - Completing all quests, miniquests and claiming all post-quest rewards will be a requirement to wear the cape.-> Post-quest rewards will not include lore books that do not necessarily improve the player character (e.g. 'Archmage' or post-Plague's End titles). -> Anything that awards items, XP or unlocks should be a requirement.- The cape would have a similar appearance to that of a master ("120") cape. - Some of the requirements will overlap with the Completionist and Trimmed Completionist capes (but will not be a requirement for either).- It would be included in the Completionist tab for an easy way of tracking your progress. Secondly, few things what that cape is not:- An everything-lore cape.- A taskmaster cape.- An overly RNG-based cape.- A music cape.- A D&D or a Minigame cape.- A requirement for the Completionist/Trimmed Completionist cape, just like any other master cape other than Dungeoneering. Requirements This is where we need you! Below is a list of the requirements that would be befitting the master cape but being just human we might have missed one or two thus in order to get this correct the first time - please do suggest other requirements that you think would fit in well with the cape. Do remember, however, tasks, RNG-based lore books that do not necessarily improve the player character from a gameplay standpoint, pets, Minigames and D&D's should not be part of the cape. 16. Next week the "King of the Jungle" title will be changed to "Queen of the Jungle" for female characters
  17. If you use it at dragons you pretty much effectively cut your profits by half. The crafter costs...30k I imagine, but lasts 5 minutes. If you tan on the spot it means that you cannot bank the hides with a porter instead since you've tanned them into leather. You cannot bank anything with porter from your inventory anyway... I think you can drop a hide and pick it back up to bank it with a porter
  18. Does it work on them? If so then possibly, although main issue is that the poison isn't bankable so you'd need to keep it in your inventory for as long as you planned on raiding
  19. Then talk about other aspects of the update. Its not like threads can't have multiple conversations going on at once.
  20. My guess is that Zaros stops it. But, that would assume that FOTG is a "past" quest, that all players have already done lore wise. Everything up to and including TWW is already 'done'. FOTG is not. A brand new account has already seen Guthix die, but has not met Zaros until they have done FOTG Except at least one 6th age quest is also "past". MPD is because Bandos is already dead for everyone. World Events seem to trump quests, and can happen regardless.
  21. Not really, since I wasn't tank, but it looked like a lot of voking, barricading etc. We had 4 tanks and they kept Durzag off of us the whole time and he hits like a truck.
  22. I doubt they even made the "if tuska wins" animation. They probably knew what would happen but didn't have a finished version for any of them. Once Godless won they made that one.
  23. Ok, finished a Durzag fight. It seems pretty difficult for tanks, but for the other 6 people its not that bad. Kill chargers and airut when they spawn, focus on first pet. Once the chargers sawn surrounding you behind their cages, everyone can let them out and kill them. 1 person per charger let out, and just go around releasing and killing them. If you don't release them you'll get swamped by over 20 chargers at once. Once Durzag comes out you keep focusing on airuts and chargers, killing pets when none of the others are around. Disable any bombs durzag throws, and focus on durzag. Free any of your people that get caged. It sounds a bit complicated explaining it, but when doing it its pretty easy to see.
  24. https://twitter.com/Mark__Gerhard/status/620517169638588416 not that its a big surprise, but Chris L is working for Gerhard's company now
  25. Apparently the concept art behind Chris L was for another Vorago rotation that never got made, since he's leaving and it would probably never end up being made he decided to show it for the video. At least thats what was apparently said by him in his friend chat.
