i saw you wanted a link to help out your pixling in another post, this is the only thing i've read: http://www.pixelfreak.com/tutorial/index.html A sword like in my sig? I made the general sword, then drew the lightning in black and added solid yellow inside of it. Then I made a color scale, 6 colors lighter then yellow and 6 darker. Then used the colors where I saw fit. 13 yellow colours? whoa man, that's alot for such a small pic. i think you've seen the swords i made. i used 4 colours to make the gold, 3 blue for the blade and 4 red. also i think 3 or 4 to make the iron things on it. so in total i used 14 or something. just to compare.

MS Paint is good enough, but if you want stuff like a palette, better zoom and animation go download GraphicsGale. but MS Paint is much easier to use, you really can't not understand it :D
  4. thikn about the perspectives on the stoves and other stuff on the sides, it would look much cooler if that was correct. also work on the shoulders like aldeon said.

i was using mspaint until i found graphicsgale, it has everything mspaint has and more. i am doing some isometric buildings aswell, why are you asking?
  6. is it easier, or what? do you still do it pixel by pixel? i might just dl it to see how it works.
  7. i'd use the dragon, really like the linework on it. the shading is also good IMO, did you do it in MS Paint?
  8. there are different techniques of painting off the comp aswell. surely there is one way which is best for photo-realistic pictures, but still there are many people who make photo-realistic pictures with different styles, and with great success when it comes to selling stuff. it's all about finding what suits you best.
  9. why do you paint with brushes to make it look like photo of someone/something? cause it takes skill and that's what you're good at. same with zimlem, he's got that talent and there are not many who can do the kind of things he does even though it's a time consuming thing it's his own work instead of just taking a photo with zillions of colours he makes those pics with like 20 different colours.
  10. lol, that made me laugh, sorry a shame you stole the other, that's very bad...it looks good aswell... you can actually see that the second one is a face with two eyes, the left and bottom yellow parts...but if that other was stolen then probably that was also just cropped from a bigger pic.
  11. Zimlem is the best one technically, probably has the most feeling for colour, from what i've seen, and it's very impressive. The Jeppoz makes the funniest and all of his sigs are really good i nthat they both tell a story and are soo well done, in a good style, you can actually see on the different ones he's made he can handle a nice, "all-is-good" sig aswell as darker sigs. but they're all made with humour. this is what makes pixel art so good, you can really see if a person has skill or not, when it comes to colours and telling a story. i guess i'm more of a traditional colour/painting kind of person. a nice abstract/lighting sig is also good looking and very pleasing to the eye, but most of the time they don't tell the stories pixel work can do.
  12. sweet, link, your best yet :D
  13. if the sun is at the horizon, how can he have a shadow in the blood? :D
  14. it was added after the upload. couldn't be bothered to change it as i was in a hurry and it didn't affect the outcome really. @unknownmasterofnothing - ya, i think it has been done before, just thought it was funny looking :D
  15. lol, where've you been? everyone's been posting it lately :D Zimlem and The_Jeppoz. they are both very skilled and nice people to boot. not that i know either very well, but from what i've seen on the boards anyway here is one of Zimlem's best:
  16. like my friend from as said it: :D lol
  17. i downloaded it, but it's gonna take some getting used to, and i like MS Paint, it's so simple, yet effective. it has a totally different potential, though. you can animate with it and everything. it's cool, i recommend to download it if you haven't gotten used to MS Paint.

really nice, i liek them alot. simple and....well, elegant i'd say hehe
  19. maybe you should name them? also Norway's flag is wrong. cool stuff otherwise. A prime example of stupidity. Now if you are american I take that back cuz then it would be 'normal'. lol
  20. yea, and i'm aware of that, no need to defend yourself :D i know it is, and i like the other type more. more artistic. this is purposeful, i agree, it does serve it's purpose, and in a nice way, too. but the other is pure class :D hehe
  21. hehe, cool, but it'd be better if it was all isometrical. in one size.

try to think how the light would reflect on a sword. the sharpened edges ,etc. especially the tip needs some work. also the reds are abit sharp IMO. work with the shading and try to make it look flat. also it's abit wide for a sword that size. i'd suggest widening the handle aswell, to give more detail to the blade. but it's an improvement, good job
  23. sweet job. but the background could use some more detail. i like the one you are using now cause it's really obvios how much time you've spent making everything. like the moon for instance. that's what's crazy about it :D but i sure wouldn't mind being good enough to make that hehe
  24. soo nice, especially the person, but that's what caught my eye, so really erally sweet. i also get a strange deja-vu feeling, some lingering sense that i've seen it before :)
  25. as i said the axe wasn't finished, more so now. not sure what to do with it, though. any ideas? i changed from red to green. not sure about it, though. a scabbard was hard to make lol, working on that next. now, you can also give your views on the axe even more :D since you started before it was finished
