Government intervention has reversed evolution
Kill_Thomas9 replied to lordkrohn1626's topic in Off-Topic
They put up signs saying "Danger. 10,000 volts. Do not touch." If you're stupid enough to touch a bug buzzing box with wires comming out of it, you deserve to die. -
Wow @ the specail effects. They were absolutly awesome. I forgot that that it was impossible for them to actually do that until the end of the movie. And by that I am simply saying that the movie has those "better than life" graphics that many games have.

Even if the army of 1000 is going to kill millions, that still doen't justify killing them. Unless of course they're attacking you. Then again, it's just a question of your ethics.

You said it was on a street, with a street light. Now it is on a highway? See, your memory has changed within the past hour. Now think of how much it could change over 30 years. I know I am not going to change your mind, you will still think that "god" had something to do with it. I would like to continue to instill doubt but it is my bed-time. They have trafic lights on highways when you go through towns... They lights are usualy green for people traveling on the highway, but they turn red sometimes for cross trafic. My mom was the cross trafic, and they were waiting for the light to turn green. Maybe it's called a parkway. I dont know. I live in california, and all we have is freeways. (But the story did take place in New Jersey)

You mean how mother in law can be rearranged into woman hitler ? Edit: Dang... You beat me to it...

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you continue to live that way, not only will you be burning fat, but also muscle. Who says no one is eating breakfast? You're just running prior to eating breakfast. "run on an empty stomach" usualy refers to just having an empty stomach. The phrasing wasn't clear. And you only want to do that if you have extra fat. Otherwise it will burn muscle.

Walking does a lot more than people think. You can burn more calories in the long run and conserve more energy. You actually burn more calories walking 5 miles than you do running 5 miles. The only reason people run, is because if you run 5 miles, it will only take you about 30-50 minutes, depending on how fast/slow you are. If you walk a mile, it will take you 50-70 minutes, again depending on how fast/slow you are. Woulddnt running be better because your heart rate is faster? Better for your heart, yes. But it doesn't burn more calories.

Exaggerates as they get older. This happened what, 30 years ago? You know how vague that memory will be? It could very well be completely different now in their minds than how it actually happened. Also, once you get more experience driving you will realize how impossible it was for a semi to be going that fast down a street. If something like that happened to me, it defenitly would not be a vague memory. And how is it impossible for a semi to be going 60 on a highway? I'm pretty sure his breakes gave out, because he was skidded sideways a bit, and finaly flipped.

^^ Really wondering what that is... I need quick cash!!

This happened when my granfather was about 35. He was an old person? And my mother told me this story when she was about 40. Was she old too? And I have driven.

Lol at all the forum drama about mentioning a flamewar  (that goes to everyone, not just the person I quoted). Explanation for that is easy. First of all, I am guessing you are not old enough to drive and don't really know how hard it is to get started on slick roads. What most likely happened is your grandpa put on the gas, and the wheels started to spin, but didn't move. Then the truck came by. Over the years of telling it your devout parents embellished it, .5 of a second became 3 seconds, 18 wheeler (most semis) became a 24 wheeler (which don't go on streets), 25 miles/hour became 75 miles/hour. There's no way a semi would be moving anywhere near that fast on a street, on the expressway going 70 miles per hour those things are cooking pretty rough, they can't do much more than that. No no. When he said he couldn't move, he meant for some reason he just couldn't move his body. He explained it later, and said that he knew he couldn't step on the gas, but didn't know why. And although it may have been a 18 wheeler, I know it was going at least 65.

Wrong forum. This topic should go here.

my friend's parents knew someone who was morbidly obese, (about 300 lbs overweight) and went on one of those diets where they only eat this gell stuff that gives them nutrients that they need. It cost her about $10,000, and took about 5 months. When she was done, she went on a cruise, and gained it all back... Very sad. Anyway, I would still recomend diet, and cardoivascular activities, such as running, or swimming.

I wouldn't. No amount of money can replace someone's life. Not even if I were offered 100million. Think about it. Thats 100k per death. If your parent/sibling/child died, would $100,000 cover the loss? Would $1,000,000 do it? Would you accept $10,000,000 for you child/parent/sibling's death? I know I wouldn't. And $10million per person would be $10billion for me if the person who died only knew one person. Just to clarify, I know I wouldn't be missing anyone, but if each of the people who died knew 100 people, that's 100,000 greiving people. Thats like 5 cities. Can you imagine driving through 5 large towns of 20,000 people, for hours, and having all the people in those towns greiving the death of the people who died? Can you imagine it if you're the one who killed them? That means that you are not only responsible for the death of 1000 people, but also the greif of 100,000 other people. Not to mention how morally wrong it is.

If I were you, I would buy a treadmil, but that's just because I enjoy running. Until I get to those inevitable cramps that come... Darn you mitochondric disorder

One of the things I learned in school: You shouldn't start discussions with a yes or no question. Because guess what? Someone posting the word "Yes" as their entire post doesn't make for a very good conversation.

Anyway, my friend's dad's friend used to be a drug dealer/hustler. His life was really getting horrible, and decided to go to a religous camp thing. Want to know what he does now? He is a priest at his local church. He thanks god now for everything, everyday, all the time. So how is this for a statement:

You couldn't have said anything any truer.

If thats not a sign of God, I dont know what is. Edit: I have a story. When my mom was just a kid; 10 or 12, she was in a car with her father. They were driving home on a rainy day This was in New Jersey, so the water was almost freezing, and the roads were very slick. The visibility was low, and the rain on the car was deafening. They pulled up to a trafic signal, and it was red. They waited there for about 15 seconds, and the light turned green. But her dad didn't start driving. She said something along the lines of "Dad, the light's green. Why aren't you going?". He responded "I dont know. I just cant go.". About 3 seconds later a 24 wheeler came skidding down the street at over 75 miles per hour, and flipped over just while it was crossing the intersection. If my mom's dad (my grandfather) had gone, they would both have been crush by the huge truck, and would have died on the scene.
