I just went to read the Dev Diary, and found this: This may be a shot in the dark, but it seems like to me they're hinting at updating the graphics of our avatars. What do you think? **I am sure they are hinting about updating the graphics of something, so if you think they are hinting about something other than NPCs, please feel free to post it. The second Development Diary can be found here for those of you who haven't read it yet.

Words from the past~Changes in a year and a half
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Kashi's topic in General Discussion
I'd say cross bows and the dark bow. Dark bow is like the range equivalent of a whip, and crossbows are like the d scimmys or ranged. (just as good as crystal bows, without the price). Before these updates, the msb was the most widely used ranged weapon, and the equivalent of a d long for ranged. -
Dragonfire Shield = Third Age prices down
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Kill_Thomas9's topic in General Discussion
Things about that is. Most of the stuff that drop the Visage will drop left halves as well. So while people are chasing after the Visage... they'll be coming across other Dragon items. Which will maybe make 3rd Age seem all the more rarer. Not saying this would increase 3A by any means, but it really is something to think about. Not to mention that way back when... people were claiming Dragon Chain would never drop under like 20 - 30M... and from the looks of it, it's gone way below that. Third Age just seems like another Dragon Chain. Might take WAY longer to fizzle out, but eventually it will. good to see 1 of the older smart posters still around occasionally. I doubt the third age kite will ever drop like that. There is a 1/10,000 chance of getting a third age item from a clue. Stack that with the 1/12 chance of getting a 3rd age kite (12 3rd age items) Stack that with the 1/100 chance of getting a clue from a monster drop in the first place That gives you less than a 1/10,000,000 chance, or a .00001% chance of someone getting a third age drop. Simply, you have to kill 12 million monsters that drop clues in order to get a 3rd age kite. If those monsters have 1/3 the hp of a kalphite queen, and are 1/4 as hard, that means it is the killing the equivalent of 1,000,000 kalphite queens. And what are the odds of getting a chain from a kq? 1/1000? That means a third age kite is 1000x rarer than a dragon chain. So if the dragon chain took 3 years to drop this low, then a third age kite will take 3,000 years. -
msb + steel arrows = rune xbow + ? And is karils better than is used to be?

Dragonfire Shield = Third Age prices down

Couldn't help but point out that a 1/10,000 chance is a .01% chance, not a 1% chance. -
Mages are supposed to be owned by rangers. It's called The Combat Triangle The last time I checked, The combat triangle looked more like this.... Either magers need an update, or dhide needs negative melee bonuses. Mages own melee. If they have ancients, the meleers dont stand a chance.

heh jessy... It says you're temporarily banned... What would you say is equal to a magic short with mith arrows?

Dragonfire Shield = Third Age prices down
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Kill_Thomas9's topic in General Discussion
It looks like third age isn't going to be "the next dragon" armour. It's just going to be something to show your wealth, like party hats. If I were jagex, I would decrease the drop rate for third age. -
Mages are supposed to be owned by rangers. It's called The Combat Triangle I have a few questions now: 1. What bolt would I need to use with a rune cbow to be equal with a magic short? 2. Do you need gem tips on the end of your bolt? 3. Is it worth it to enchant the bolts? 4. How many bolts are enchanted at once? 5. How many bolts are enchanted when you use the poision spell? 6. How does the Karil's Crossbow compare now?

Dragonfire Shield = Third Age prices down
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Kill_Thomas9's topic in General Discussion
I loled at that irl, Anyway, this might affect d squared more than third age stoofs. Oh yah, is this shield tradable? Third Age is hawt btw 8-) Edit: There's not that many of them. What's a 30-50M loss to guys who have 500M+? Alot. I have a bank worth about 40mil, and if if I lost 7-10% of my bank I would be really mad. (that is 2-3 whips just to give you an idea) -
As many of you know, the Third Age Kite was the most popular of the third age items, because it offered the best defense of any shield in the game. This kite, combined with full Torags, offered the best total melee defense in the game, accommodating the 200mil price tag. But now with the new shield, the Third Age Kite doesn't even give the best defense anymore. Here I have posted the stats of the Dragonfire Shield compared to the stats of the third age kite. I also added in the dragon square and the rune defender, because of the strength bonus. As you can see, the third age kite dwarfs in comparison with the Dragonfire shield, and the Dragonfire shield offers a strength bonus! You can even release some of the dragonfire, which makes it an awesome pking shield. (Imagine if someone got like 3 shields, and released all the dragonbreath during a fight, or in the duel arena!) So, discuss what you think will happen to third age kite prices, dragon sq prices, ect.

Combat triangle outdated and useless?
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Nazgul740's topic in General Discussion
If they want it to be equal, they should make you choose one cb syle for pking, and you have to wait till the end of the fight to change the cb style. That might help balance the triangle for a while. -
Slayer Profits: 1 whip ever 3 or so hours (if you're lucky) = 533k an hour Rc Profits: 3.3k nats an hour = 1mil an hour. Rc = 3x+ better profits then slayer (if you're lucky). The only benefit to slayer is that you can get cb exp.

Great guide! I might use it. And with this method, you could do it with a normal bow, and bronze arrows. All you need the bow for is to distract the healers. Gunna get to 60 ranged first though.

I could have bought one for 7.5mil this morning, and sold for 15 mil now... I hate my self.

You mean you dont have a button on your computer that launches nukes and kill all human life??? Anyway, the only thing school is good for, is making sure that you learn the stuff. Even if it is slower learning. You aren't underastanding what I am saying about the children dieing. I was saying that if my children died during child birth, oh well. Peolpe die. BUT if I was in a hospital, and my children were going to die, and a doctor had a lifesaving drug, of course I would take it. But unfortunatly doctors dont live on tropical islands in holes under child-saving-drug-trees. Thanks you. And I totally agree with you. If you wanted to just move to one of those islands today, it wouldn't work because of todays current society. But it everybody lived how I was describing, (and those places weren't over populated), it would work. And thanks for correcting me on the bacteria thing. Small mistake on my part.

That was very well put. And I'm sure a family of 5 would be much happier to live here with a decent income, than on some island, but if it is one or two people, it may be very different. With a family, if you die, you are letting someone down. Without one, if you die, it doesn't physicaly hurt anyone else. Yes. But I would first have to learn how to live there. (ie. how to fish, hunt, skin/gut animals/fish, and cook them. woow I bet you haven't ever even been camping, I bet you never spent a day without your computer posting on tip.it and playing runescape. I bet you never even spent a day in an undeveloped country. What you are saying is totally based on your imagination of what the world is like. The fact that you don't care about technology, but yet your sitting here posting on these forums frequently totally contridicts yourself. If you didn't need it you wouldn't use it. Tell me an experience that would tell me that you would be fine living w/o technology for the rest of your life. Where would you learn to live your life, where would you learn to cook and fish and raise crops? These things don't just pop up in your mind, where in the world are you going to learn that from? Also your telling me you are willing to leave your family? Love and family is one of the neccessities of survival, I don't know if you know that. You can't live w/o someone not caring for you or you caring for someone. Not possible. Also where exactly are you talking about this hippie utopia where everyone is happy just farming and cooking and being self-sufficient w/o any technology. I would really like to know. I feel like your just talking about the amish, and even they send their kids to school. Any half decent place in the world send their kids to school, and college if they can afford it. No one ever passes up that opportunity. Even in Africa, even in poor parts of Africa. I really wanna hear you give a name of this uneducated utopia that you are talking about. Does that 3 week long back packing trip I went on last summer count as camping? And that was in the Sierra Nevada's just so you know. It is much harder to live there than it is to live on some island where you can just go fishing in the ocean. And about being raided. If I live there, it isn't like I have any items of great value to have raided. If I live with 3 of my friends, what the "raiders" going to steal? I fishing spear? Some wood? Maybe a pair of sandals? And just because I use something doesn't mean I cant live without it. Maybe the people already living there would teach me how to fish/hunt/cook/whatever. Remember the part of my post where I said I would be living with 4+ friends? Well said. Kill_thomas9, you are probably the most unrealistic kid on these forums. You don't look at an argument and say, hey, well at least ____ can happen. It doesn't mean you're right, it means you're grasping for straws. But the worst part is you still think you're right, that you know what you're talking about, despite what we say and truth. Trapical, too, summed up why you're imagination is going to kill you someday. Africa lives in poverty because, yes, there is not enough food. Because the land doesn't always give. And there is not enough clean water to go around - most of their clean water comes from OUTSIDE sources. You know, society? If not, they have to boil their water in hopes of killing at least some of the bacteria that threatens to kill them every sip. Ok, lets look past that part. How about the disease spreading insects? Dangerous animals? Not every animal in the wild will go up to you to be pet. Maybe they'll come up to you because its hungry, and you look tasty. Its also funny how you talk about the environment, trapical's pic also summed up how mother nature isn't going to be lax just because you have a large imagination. Because for you, you don't have to worry; every day will be nice and sunny with a chance of wow you're a fool for believing you won't get blown to hell and back because of a hurricane. But there is hope! maybe a volcano will erupt and preserve you so EDUCATED scientists can examine you, and learn from your mistakes So lets go to your imaginary island. Lets catch some imaginary fish off some imaginary coast with your imaginary fishing prowess. Then lets hang with your imaginary friends and play runescape. Wait, that doesn't exist. Lets, uhh... watch television! Wait, that doesn't exist, either. What the hell is there to do at this place? Watch the sun set? Its the same rerun every day. Ok, lets (by lets, i do not mean you.) have sex without condoms! then we'd (AGAIN, not you.) have 10 babies, 8 of which will die in birth, or because of some disease, or malnutrition, or some condition that could have been prevented by a doctor. Too bad there aren't any of those around. face it. the society we have now is the best we can do to enjoy ourselves. I wonder why africa lives in poverty... Certainly not because of the society we created... Do you think that if africa had always been in poverty like that, they would have continued living like that? And what do you mean "in hopes of killing some of the bacteria"? If you boil water for 2 minutes, it kills almost all of the bacteria. After 20, im sure it will be completely sterile. And disease spreading insects? People survived perfectly fine before all these medicines. All the medecines do is make the bacteria more immune to out immune system. If it's west nile you're talking about, I hope you know that there are so many more mosquitos now because of accelerated global warming. Just because you need televisions or computers to have fun, doesn't mean we all do. And if 8 of 10 children die in birth, oh well. Why not let nature takes it's course? And to whoever said I would get bored of living there, do you not ever get bored of your current life? You obviously havn't read the thread. Just cuz sum1 dunt go ta skol, duznt meen thay wil tak lik dis. And if you dont go to school, you wont be typing anyway. If what you said is a valid statement, then I can make the same point about farming. You probably farm, like a farmer would type. You need different skills to live in different places.

It's a centipede. Good idea running out of your room. Most are very poisionous, and can kill people. Especially ones that big. If I saw that in my room I would be like "Holy {Freakin} {Poo}!!!" 5 inches. Does anyone realise how big that is?? That like... Your mouse is only 3- inches or so... So imagine 2 or 3 times the length of your mouse.

After typing a reply for 10 minutes, my internet quits when I got to post... Anyway, put simply, I had mexican food. There goes 10 minutes I could have spent sleeping.

You seem to ignore it at least. Within the boundaries of our current society, one can do almost anything they want if they put the effort in. In your fantasy world, your life would be even more routine and far more boring than having to attend school and there would be little to aspire to. Even though it would benefit every other creature alive, and the worlds natural ecosystem.

What was the worst thing that ever happened to YOU?
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Abyssalwhip's topic in Off-Topic
My grandmother dieing. My great grandfather dieing. Although I personaly dont believe death to be such a horrible thing, being a human I am selfish. And when someone dies, I am sad that I will not see them again until I am dead, even though I know they are in a better place.
