I'm p2p, but I wouldn't mind seeing Mystic robes become usable in f2p. Melee and Range equipment is supported up to level 40 in f2p, and lack of similar support for mages does imbalance the combat triangle. Anyone opposed for economic reasons is just flat out wrong, at least for the blue robes. Those are bought from a store in the wiz guild for 235k per full set. The store stocks 1000 of each piece so it's not like they'll ever be out of stock. However, giving Mystic to f2p means that mages have a whole lot less of an incentive to become members. Even in p2p there are very few reasonably accessable choices. We get Mystic, which has a decent mage bonus, but very little defence. Splitbark, Skeletal, and Lunar, which all have less of a mage bonus but offer some defence. Infinity, at more than 12m for a full set is more of a status symbol than practical armour. Third Age: same idea as Infinity, but much more costly. Finally, there's Ahrim's, which at about 1.8m for a set is reasonably costed for its level. Even in p2p, Mages have far less choice then Meleers or Rangers Put me down as neutral. Even though it would benefit the f2p environment, there are prefectly good reasons why it hasn't and probably won;t happen.
