  1. Does anyone know whether the ring of wealth helps with treasure trail clue drops? Many Thanks
  2. Thanks for the imput, corrections and more info have been added. Glad everyone appears to like it  King_Raghav, I will probably do that as my next project but i'll take a while.
  3. Thanks Glad to see that my own estimate for the rune ore falls within your limits. ...Great stats btw. =D>
  4. I wrote the majority of this guide when I had just reached 85 mining, since then IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve reached 87 mining and done a lot more research and decided to improve on what I had already written. There are 4 Lessons to keep in mind when mining; Lesson 0: Try to have fun mining, even if it means less experience, it will keep you motivated and help you to reach your goal. If you don't like powermining then just don't do it (often). ~ no_way2go Lesson 1: You will be beaten, whilst you are training. It is inevitable. You will be beaten by people who have a higher mining lvl, same or even a lower mining lvl. Get used to it. Lesson 2: Always have the best pick that you can, goes without saying. Looking at lesson 1 any advantage helps. Lesson 3: Have money in your bank to fix or even re-buy your pick. Accidents happen. Ok so thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the 3 lessons you must grasp, now comes a little guide for lower lvl mining. Same goes to the prices shown, prices vary depending on the market but usually fall within the 2 prices shown. Tin, Copper and their bar bronzehave been excluded to due there low demand.[/hide] [hide=iron] Rocks respawn in roughly 7 seconds Ore Price = 80-110 [hide=Iron Bars] Fromed by using an iron on a furnace. This is the first ore where superheating can be economically viable. Rocks respawn in roughly 2 minutes 15 seconds Ore Price = 300-450 Bar Price = 1k-1.1k[/hide] [hide=Adamantite] Always abreviated to addy. At level 70 smithing this ore will require 6 coal per an ore. Rocks respawn in roughly 4 minutes 25 seconds Ore Price = 900-1.1k Bar Peice = 2k-2.2k[/hide] [hide=Runite] Very rare ore only available on F2P in one place deep in wildy, as a result is very expensive to buy. Each Bar requires 85 smithing, 8 coal and 1 runite ore. Ore Price = 10k-13k Bar Price = 15k-20k If anyone can tell me how long it takes for each rune ore to respawn i will update this, Thank you[/hide][/hide] Lvl 1 - 20 Place: South East of Varrok, best place for copper and tin. You can also use the Lumbridge training mine but this is further from a bank. Pick: Start with iron and have a steel one in your bank. Note: All picks can be bought from the Dwarven Mine. There is a pick shop run by Nurmof he also repairs picks damaged by explosions. If the pick head detaches from the pick handle just find the pick head, it will be on the ground nearby, and use the pick head on the pick handle. Guide: Mine equal amounts of copper and tin (128 of each). I recommend banking all the ore as you can smith it later to raise your smithing lvl. You shouldn't have much competition there are plenty of rocks and generally you can generally get to lvl 20 in a night of mining without too much trouble. ThatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s all there is to getting to lvl 20 now it gets much harder you are 5 lvls above the threshold of iron mining. This means that there are people out there who you can compete against. First get to lvl 21 and a mith pic. You can either start mining iron now or mine copper and tin for another lvl. I leave this to you but before you make up your mind read the iron guide. Iron guide. As soon as you reach lvl 21 get a mith pic Here it gets tough. For the first time you will have in South East Varrok competition with better miners on every world. Don't dream of mining more than two here for a while. 1) you can't physically do it, your lvl isn't high enough and 2) your going to be seen as greedy and unpopular so people will even if its not intentional join up to try and get rid of you. (I always try and do it and if I do you can bet that plenty of others do as well) Between mining lvls 20 and 30 there are a few options: 1) watch the rocks at SE Varrok there is always 1 rock that is left alone by the people with rune picks, mine this one. Well... duh! If you arenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t getting any or there are 2 people with rune picks hop worlds there are ... I don't know at least 30+ free worlds 1 of these will be quiet enough for you to mine on, you merely have to find it. 2) Change your mining spot: a) South West Varrok ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ This is the best of the other options, itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a little used spot due west of the south East Varrok mining spot, contains 3 iron spots as well as some clay, silver and tin. This is always quieter that the SE Varrok spot and the closets mining spot to any bank, although this is marginal when compared to SE Varrok. B) Rimmington Mine which is much quieter however it does have the new iron rocks which look almost identical to new mined rocks. However there is no bank only a general store in Rimmington. Fally is a fair distance so you may not want to go there as it takes too long to bank your ores. Great however if you wish to just drop or run to the general store. c) Under Edgeville, there is yet another mining spot that isn't used. Beware of the skeletons and zombies leading to it and also around the rocks. d) Scorpion/ Chasm mine in the dessert. Personally I don't like this mine tillÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ well never, but its up to you. There are plenty of iron rocks and on quiet periods you can powermine quite comfortably here. e) North of Edge... Wildy need I say any more only has 2 iron rocks anyhow not worth it. f) Hobgoblins... Wildy. Yeah I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like going into the wildy for iron there are plenty of other much safer locations around. Up to you though if you fancy having 21 iron rocks to hack away at be my guest. g) Dwarven mine. Good, old fashioned, and rather homely. Competitive though and for the most part safe be careful of the scorpions at the bottom but otherwise feel free to mine here. You can also sell your iron ores to the dwarf at the ore shop, but no easy access to a bank till your level 60 Lvl 30 upwards Once you reach lvl 30 you should be 2 hitting iron rocks. Until lvl 40 at the earliest avoid coal like the plague it is too slow to mine effectively, for either cash or Xp. Just keep mining iron its the fastest Xp all the way to 99 now. Since you have all the info for levelling I may as well explain powermining. Then I will move onto the other ores: coal, mith, addy, and rune. Powermining ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s simple. Just drop the iron ores that you mine, what could be easier? Well plenty of things. The basic of powermining are very simple you mine and drop as many iron ores as you can in as short a time as possible (Members, Granite is quicker than iron). The best spot is the Chasm mine, where you will find 3 iron rocks situated in a perfect mining position. Mining these 3 rocks as quickly as possible and when you get fast enough dropping the 3 ores before the first rock re-spawns. Cicled in red. It is important to note that this technique should be employed in order to get to the high mining lvls. It doesn't however set you up for smithing but does give you plenty of Xp. Once you are good enough, 60+ mining at least, go to the busiest world and power mine there. The rocks re-spawn faster the busier the world. Good luck this is the quickest way to 85. Superheating For those miners able to both mine and smith mith or addy. This technique saves a great deal of time, allowing you to camp out at a mining spot and by mining the required coal per mith or addy ore you can smelt the ores into a bar with superheat spell. This allows youto fill your inventory with smelt bars as opposed to the ores and allowing you to miss out the trips to the furnace. Requirements: Have to have 43 magic, Fire staff or plenty of spare fire runes (each Superheat uses 4 fire runes), Nature runes (1 per spell) This technique increases the amount of ores that you mine per a trip, and as a result increases profit and Xp gained. In my opinion the best place for Superheating is the Hobgoblin mine in wildy, has plenty of Coal, Mith and Addy. Below is the ores that you can sell for a decent price. Coal... don't mine till lvl 40 at the earliest. This is vital for all high lvl smithing ... yeah seen that before? Well its true. As a result it can be sold for profit and it is the first ore that has a decent going price. Most people will pay 150 upwards per ore. However as a result of this there is perhaps more competition for this lump of ore than any other... perhaps. Basically once you get a rune pick you stand a chance up till them my advice is don't bother. READ ON IF YOU CAN USE A RUNE PICK - or if curious, but mining anything above coal i would use a rune pick. the next 4 ores all pay well if you can mine them, and if you have a combat level above 60 are well worth the risk heading into wildy for. Places to mine coal... Mining Guild - Personally my favourite spot for coal mining since its no longer flooded with autoers. Plenty of it lying around, but 60+ miners competition will always be a little steep, and can get very busy. Skeleton mine ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ This is my second favourite place to mine coal, despite being in wildy and in an area full of skeletons. Only has coal but plenty of it, and is in a single combat area only at level 9 wildy. Due South is the monastery so any damage sustained can be freely healed by talking to the monks. Hobgoblin mine - Now its finally worth the effort to go into wildy for ores, I don't recommend it but thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s just my personality and view of wildy. Chasm mine - Only 3 ores so competition there is generally high but if you can mine the mith around it is worth going there. Barby village - Always mined. Underneath Edgeville - Much closer to a bank than Scorpion mine and much less competition, skeletons are slightly tougher than the scorpions but thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the only down side. Lummy Swamps ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Since Lumbridge was updated this mine has been moved, making it about equidistant from both Lumbridge and Draynor. However it does have a very good smattering of rocks, including coal, mith and addy. Note there is also a furnace in Lumbridge. Crandor - Way, way away from any bank but if you can do the dragon slayer quest IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m guessing that you can teleport so it isn't so bad. For coal I wouldn't use it but it is there if you want to go. Nice place if you ignore the lesser deamons, hobgoblins and moss giants. MITH... lvl 55 well this is where the mining guild, hobgoblin and crandor come into there own for mining spots. Crandor and Hobgoblin mines for quantity the Mining guild as it has the dwarven mines supplies of mith just out side and is in throwing distance of the bank. Crandor is the weakest of the 3 as it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Its a toss up between the other two. Other spots to mine include: Scorpion mine: 2 mith ores but there are coal ores next door. A way from a bank, but a little walk never hurt any one. Also Al-kahrid has a furnace in it so you could stop off on the way back to the bank and smelt your ores. Under Edge: Only has 1 but does also have coal, not that far from a bank. Lummy Swamps - 5 mith rocks, and 7 coal rocks and a furnace in lummy the distance of the bank is the only downside to this out of the way spot. Addy - lvl 70... This comes down to where you prefer You should wait until 75 mining before you start mining addy, you will get more money and experience and money from easier to mine ores till you are around 75. ~ no_way2go Not that many places to mine addy: Crandor, Hobgoblin, Scorpion, Lummy swamps, Dwarven mines and Under Edge. Hobgoblin mine has 8 addy rocks as well as ample supplies of coal, perhaps the best of all of them. Is in lvl 30 Wildy Directly north of Edge but a fair walk, however this is more than compensated by the amount of addy ores there. Using the Superheat technique here will make each trip more worthwhile. Lummy Swamps only has 2 rocks so perhaps not the best spot to use however at this point its personal decision. Dwarven mine easy access through the mining guild and plenty of other ores to mine whilst there. Again itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s where you prefer. 2 under Edgeville, all other paying ores are there plus some others Crandor way out back but does have some entertaining natives, with some fairly good drops. Native can be slain whilst waiting for the rocks to re-spawn, still I believe it too far from a bank to be worth while. However is off the beaten track so not many miners go there plenty of people training combat though. Chasm mine has all ores but rune, 3 addy ores as with most of the others. For addy apart from hobgoblin and crandor which I think represent the best and worst respectively its all up to how busy each place is and where you enjoy mining. Wildy Mining When going into the wildy on a mining expedition always take some armour, I always take dragon hides, as these are fairly cheap and donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make you a very interesting target. As well as this they have very good magic protection, and considerably lighter than metal armours. As you can see from the images below i wear a wolly scarf into the wildy, this is a good luck charm, I recommened either a ammy of stregnth or ammy of defense. If I'm going to the Hobgoblin mine I will take 4 lobsters just in case, however for the scorpion mine I don't reccomend it as your so close to the edge of Wildy. I also always take a scimmi, this is simply because the pick axe is such a terrible weapon and regardless of level wildy monsters will attack. The scimmi saves time. Above is what i would reccomend if going superheating, possibly taking more food but thats personal preference. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rune... well only one spot where you can mine it in F2P, I recommend members and reading Leesters Guide to rune mining. Otherwise Sparty's Guide is a very good indepth guide into how to aviod the pkers that haunt the rune rocks.. Good luck, Hope it helps, Anashya Many thanks to: no_way2go ~ for imputting a few things which i had missed, more eloquently than i could. sam10187 ~ Pointing out some minor corrections. skeroh ~ Pointing out somethings which I had missed. P.s. Feel free to Pm me in game on Anashya or here if you want to ask anything mining related... or advice generally.
  5. money is just a means to an end and can easily be wasted but training items stand the test of time, I say 2
  6. Don't know if this is technically a rare but i always wanted the bunny ears, i love the way they look and they don't cover the entire head, something i hate, hence i never where helmets and have no great love of party hats If it doesn't count then an easter egg, as i love chocolate and it brightens up the bank.
  7. At the moment its usually 15 as it happens to be the busiest english server. Powermining iron so i need a lot of people and little lag. Other wise i usually hang around on world 80 and always start looking for rune ore on the first canadian server (17 i think). The last two are victims of habit. \
  8. On this account mining, On my very first account, wood cutting and fire making
  9. 1) Shining Light - Ash 2) Vindicated - Dashboard Confessional 3) Bat Out Of Hell (Live Version) - Meatloaf 4) Livin on a prayer - Bon Jovi 5) The Drugs Don't Work - The Verve 6) Hallelujah - Jeff Buckly 7) Heart Of Glass - Blondie 8) Burn Baby Burn - Ash 9) Slow Chetah - Red Hot Chilli Peppers 10) Spanish Bombs - The Clash
  10. Mining is best, as soon as you hit 85 your laughing up till then, Iron and coal is best.
  11. Rune mining without a scout. Thats always fun, and the pkers are generally a laugh. Slightly more amusing when i get away then when they get me but its all good fun.
  12. I don't like the compass or the colour of the text on the skill screen. But Apart from that I Love it. The Emote icons are Hilarious and the other icons have a quaint cuteness to them. And since Im a F2P rune miner, what a shame that pkers are finding the run button hard to use, \
  13. Usually have it pointing north, unless im in wildy at the rune rocks when its always spinning round. (little sticky out bit gives you a little extra vision, useful for spotting and tracking little white blobs)
  14. Not impressed i think they blame it for me underachieving in my exams... they may have a valid point :-w
  15. RUNE ORES. I'm f2p so no players means all the rune ores and none of those blasted pkers...
  16. ... Wow. Thats good. =D> =D>
  17. Anashya normally goes to ana or anashya... or a bad spelling.
  18. hobgoblin mine, for mining and combat. Easy of Xp from the hobgoblins, can stay there for ages without needing to return for food, also quiet rarely see pkers there and even if you do hobgoblins allow for an easy escape. Mining plenty of addy rocks, Quiet and more intersting than any of the other places to mine. Not that good Xp =(
  19. 86 mining. 85 thats easy, the problem comes when you get bored of powermining after reaching your goal. Then it takes ages to get up again.
  20. rune platelegs with rune chain, anti drag shield and rune scimmi. Also had air staff runes and the rest of my invent was swordies. yeah i did try to mage the dragon in full rune, #-o
  21. Bit brief... Don't know what else to say, idea works.
