  2. I guess 500 pounds will be enough for a dual core CPU + moderate graphic card.
  3. Information regarding your budget would be sufficient enough.
  4. It's not an end user release and IE7 is still in beta progress.
  5. Check the LAN TCPIP properties of your Local Area Network.
  6. One good thing to avoid keylogger nor any virus would be using Guest account in Windows XP to play runescape.
  7. If your computer is still in warranty, you better send them to service center for upgrade or you might risk the void of your warranty. I guess it's part of DELL marketing to use only RAM by DELL.
  8. Yup, your motherboard supports PCI-E x16..so Nvidia Geforce 6800GS would be a good buy for graphic card.
  9. or you might wanna try out changing the brightness setting..
  10. I would personally suggest them to make e-bay alike bidding web, but if this is implemented, what is the uses of Market Place forum anyway?
  11. It wouldn't void the warranty if you enquire them about upgrades and send your desktop to the service center for the upgrade requested. (Please correct me If I'm wrong) As what stated in Dell's Limited Warranty Policy :
  12. I wouldn't risk the void of my 3 years limited warranty just for that 3rd party RAM..
  13. I couldn't seems to find proper specification of Mesh 3200 AMD 64 computer. May you please guide me to a page which displays/tells the specification of your computer?
  14. ^^ Absolute rubbish I wonder what makes you said that my statement is an absolute rubbish? According to proper support documentation by DELL Corporation, the Dell system was manufactured with only one specific type of RAM and they are not interchangeable. You may view the documentation here: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/ ... l=en&s=dhs This indicate that there's only one RAM supported by DELL, but I might be wrong. Futhermore I've tested this in my school's computer lab, with Dimension 3000 and what it gave me is just a continuous beeping sound, which marks the failure of system to recognize the ram. However, someone from CNET forum manage to open the casing of his DELL system (In which I forgot which specification of DELL computer he's using) and attach a Kingston Value Ram. It works..what a miracle. So I came to a conclusion, that only certain DELL system works with 3rd party ram but majority of DELL computers will not able to recognize 3rd party RAM. But to prevent from getting into any harm in terms of warranty, the best thing is to follow what DELL documentation said which is to use the ram supplied by DELL. I apologize if I'm misleading certain forumers here. Please correct me If I'm wrong too.
  15. Form Factor ATX Form Factor, 12"x 9.6"(30.5cm x 24.5cm) He need it Micro ATX Ops..didnt see that... :P Edit 1 : Threadstarter, if you're not in the rush of buying a new computer, then I would personally suggest you to wait longer until this May/June, which marks the starting of new life for amd with it's new socket, codename M2 which supports DDR2.
  16. Ops forget about that..Dell computers only works with Dell rams. No matter what rams you buy, when you insert it into the motherboard..the system will fail to recognize the 3rd party ram. It's more like the context of buffered ram/registered ram.
  17. Motherboard choice would be : Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 Motherboard http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=98&type=expert Asus A8V Deluxe Athlon64 Motherboard http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1617
  18. I would personally suggest a new motherboard if you want to play such games. One of them would be : Gigabyte socket 478 motherboard. Asus P4 Deluxe motherboard (Any deluxe motherboard) DFI Lanparty motherboard. Also before buying motherboard, make sure the motherboard comes with Intel chipset. Intel chipset are better than VIA chipset while VIA chipset are better than SIS chipset. Intel > VIA > SIS Anyway, this involves money to buy new motherboard and new graphic card.
  19. I'm sure that the threadstarter has already mentioned that he/she is using a 240 PIN DDR2 memory...
  20. That means all cards suggested by _k0m0d0_ earlier is unuseable as all require 16x of PCI-E. By looking at your motherboard, sorry to say that it doesnt seems to have any PCI-E slot or AGP slot. (Note that PCI-E and PCI slot are totally two different thing). Since this is an OEM computer, I suggest you to call the technical support and insist them of an upgrade to your computer instead of going to your own.
  21. You can download cpuz from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
  22. Threadstarter please post more information regarding your motherboard. I need to know whether your motherboard is on AGP or PCI-E platform before suggesting any graphic card to you.
  23. Threadstarter, Do you mind posting extra information regarding your motherboard & Processor so that I can check the compability of certain Ram? If you do not know how to check these stuff, you can download CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.org to verify your CPU FSB and speed, and most importantly, memory. 2 sticks of 256mb will be better to allow dual channel memory :)
