  1. Appears on every non-us domains, including tip.it.

However, is there a reason you must use imageshack? Currently switching to other free image hosing provider seems to be the best solution.

Who knows what come next, could be limiting your access bandwidth or maybe charging you for $1 to delete each image?

The problem is not that I'm using imageshack, other people do. I can't see their stuff, which applies to avatars, signatures, uploaded images and the like.

Right click the image then copy and paste its url address should work, since it only checks the domain of the referrer (ie: TIP.IT not you).

If there are lots of those images, use a downloading tool to batch download them such as free download manager. Remember to uncheck referer or leave it blank or just put a random us site in.

Well yeah but that don;t change the fact they aren't letting you have it and if they are smart this domain thingy COULD be being applied to any direct link images that AREN'T in a members album.

    Yes, they could.

A very courageous move for imageshack, seems that they are short on funds and need those advertising revenue very badly.

  3.

So if you're starting bet is 1m, and you double til you win( 8 times max) you're going to risk 255m just to win 1m? Asks casino managers, the only way to win when gambling is to own the casino...

There are differences between this dice game and a casino's dice game is the casino doesnt take part in placing the odds.

In this game the host always have a 40% chance to lose, which is pretty high chance, he can only win if and only if the bet is constant as someone above have already proven.

A casino's dice game, the casino doesnt put any stake on the table, instead it moves the loser's stakes to the winner and keep a percentage of the spoils. There also exist a 1/36 chance he can bail out all the spoils. Essentially the casino transfer the risk to their customers, just like what a banker would do with their products.

Anyways even at constant rates, this game seems to be more promising than the flower game due to the confidence (not chance) of winning.

  4. This isn't luring...it's people not looking at their screen.

Seriously, they have the confirmation screen that tells them right in the bottom middle next to the agree button that says if items lost is on or off. Also, there's that nice square there in your face while fighting that tells the same thing. They could just be smart and look at it....and exit via the portal.

It's the people getting lured who are at fault.

Seriously...how is this a "lure"....They turn Items lost on when they challenge...."trolololol, Lured gf bank, lolloloL!LlOl!!!" No...that's not how it works it.

It's no more a lure then changing rules in the duel arena....all people have to do is LOOK AT THEIR SCREEN to avoid these things. Yes it sucks, I do feel sorry for them. At the same time...I'm logical..."scams" and "lures" like these are so stupidly easy to avoid.

That being said....there is no reason for the Dangerous Clan wars portal/arena options to be there anymore. They should remove it.

It seems to be luring, you should notice the guy with flower and dragon mid is doing something fishy. Some of their victims says thanks and some of their victims even attempt to kill him, some victims come prepared with rocktails as well. The only difference here and between wild or arena lure is there is no skull and level restrictions, the victims dont expect there will be attacked by a 133lv and the victims probably thought they can kill the "noob". Must have something to do with greed than just mere foolish.

Anyway why are people all running around with santa hats and dragonfire shields? They are either very good tricksters or its just a drama.

I know that santas is a hot item now, it rises like 20mil over a week, what are they doing with it there?

  5. [hide]

They may have been stupid, but I feel bad. It took them 10 hours to earn what takes most of us 1 hour, and then they had all their work taken away.

I don't know how you get full bandos or a santa in 1 hour or even 10 hours. Tell me your secret.

    I lol'd

They just make money 10x slower than normal people, silly.

Most people on RS dont make 10 million gp in a month, your views on the distribution of wealth are extremely disturbed.

    [/hide]

Is my post really that confusing?

Yes, its confusing, just say you kill them.

Dangerous Clan vs Clan still has it uses, but dangerous FFa is pretty useless considering there are already high risk wildy worlds. I'm all for the removal

This. Out with dangerous FFA already, the longer it's there the more people will follow this vid and do the exact same thing <_<

Wished there are 1 or 2 PvP worlds back though, I liked it when the entire landscape was PvP-able.

No idea why someone would hate some optional PVP worlds.

  6. Why should we trust chrome anyway? Because less noobs general public use it than IE/FireFox/Safari, so hackers will less likely exploit it ?

Chrome is weird in many ways. The engine is open sourced and is also used by Safari or w/e apple tells you to use, however the core part of the browser isnt and its not code by google either in a similar fashion to google bar.

    edit:

Let me elaborate a bit. We dont know whats inside chrome because its closed source, we only know its build from chromium which is its open source and non-intrusive counterpart.

So far we know it tends to hijack some url to their google search engine and more importantly it sends your web browsing behaviour/statistics back to google, essentially a spyware/huge tracking cookie.

Yes, chrome is a good browser and it does seems to be less bulky in some sense. However it is not more secure than other browser in any sense and it doesnt show less stuff than IE but only more stuff as with other webkit browser.

What's the point if you're going to value everything in RWT terms?

It's a game - you play to have fun.

If you really wanted to make money - get a job. It pays a lot better (not to mention consistently)

It really depends what job the RWT can get.

Maybe someone living in slumps and have limited education maybe happy with that rate than working in a factory.

And to 13 years olds, it is attractive since their education and age cant really get someone offering them a job.

EDIT: The gp:$ rate isnt important, its purely an economic assumption. The point is they do it because they think its worth their while.

The only difference between a higher/lower rate is more/less supply for gp in RWT market.

  8. Now that we can view money in RWT terms, I don't value my time low enough to play rs. College is too large of an investment. A claw drop costs just as much as that pizza I just ordered from dominos.

If $1 = 1mil gp, you take around 10 min to manage thy kingdom and make 1.25mil per week, then you sell the 60mil gp at the end of the year into $$. You are basically playing for free with minimum time spent. Any extra cash the RWT can make is their bonus and not everyone in the world can get $3usd per hour.

  9. so what you are saying is... if there were no other merchants, it would be easier to merchant to buy items cheap and sell items high?

in other words: if there were no other merchants, it would be easy to merchant

Even though thats not my point, but what you said is true as well.

Anyway, I was just arguing does merchants really reduce cost to end users.

Funny that as a salesman, my superiors always try to convince us we are just helping our client to get their job done, but we all know by heart that we are ripping them off.

  10. In the real world perhaps. In Runescape they still don't create money or items. That's my simple point. You never got that. You keep yammering on about reduced reduction costs and blah blah blah. I never cared about that. They don't produce anything. The service they may or may not provide barely justifies their existence. That is my opinion.

If you don't like it, this is me not caring. --> eusa_dance.gif

Service is service, providing service is production, its part of the gdp or whatever that matters.

Anyways, that doesnt mean we all should love merchants because they kindly provide such service.

Flippers add competition or demand on rs goods, without merchants you are only competing with other end users. You can still buy stuff at mid after merchants come in, but everyone gets the item alot slower, even the merchant doesnt get any advantages.

Since we tend to bring in real life comparisons, lets do one completely.

    1. No one can buy lands or own natural resources, you cant buy karamja docks in RS but you can buy the land with gas reserve if you are rich enough.

    2. There is no patent in RS. Others in RS will follow suit as soon as they figure out your new method and you cant do anything to charge or stop them.

    3. You can train everything to 99 in time and you dont even have to pay a 99 to do something as long as it provides fast exp. You cant be a doctor, even if you study for 30 years, its just happens that your brain cells just cant cope. Even if you are a doctor, you cant really be a doctor and a lawyer at the same time.

    4. Mass buying and mass selling give no advantage in GE. But keep in mind that its a different story in forums, I think economy of scales works in forums but I dont use rsof much now to trade stuff so I dont really know whats going on there.

So basically, its safe to say that we merchants are stealing your resources and if we dont exist you may get your stuff faster and your production costs could be lower.

    argh please read.

merchants save the time of the suppliers and the consumers of the products they trade. this allows the suppliers and consumers to continue about their daily lives and produce and consume more goods and services.

merchants cause an OVERALL increase in productivity, production and consumption in the economy.

the service they provide is ease of trading and reduced transaction costs. merchants buy items when there would not otherwise be buyers and sell when there would not otherwise be sellers.

This is only true if the consumer reaches GE limit or you are trading outside GE.

  11. What i have noticed since this update:

-good time for skillers that buys supplies

-bad time for those that sells supplies

Not sure about the buying part. Sellers might have a little fun searching for the highest price that they can get a trade at, but I dont find this price guessing game make buyer's life easier. Unless the skiller is someone rich and willing to spend like no tommorow.

I also find my plans for prayer training has been delayed as I know my stockpile of dragon bones is now worth 15% more than it was. I heard there are rumors on the internets suggesting that this is part of the "private server syndrome" and I am better off selling them, like now.

Other than that, trading doesnt really change. I still find myself buying at suggest price or slightly higher and selling at +5% (old ge max).

  12. The ge is truly annoying though due to the way it is built. Let's say fire runes are at 5gp ea. Due to the rules, they can't increase or decrease in price, as even w/ an increase to 6gp, they'd be going up in price by 20%, 15 more than the maximum allowed.

Not too sure which rule are you refering to, it seems that GE can go more than 5% in a day.

From what we know now, GE price have hidden decimal points, the quantity quota is still in effect and price sniping is still in effect (exact price prioritise over out-biding).

  13. im sure most people are glad to see pvp worlds gone.

even though i dont really like wildy comeing back etc, removeing pvp worlds was a good thing.

How is PVP world not desirable/harmful?

It is optional, provides less competition in some activities, no/kill-able bots and makes brawlers more useful.

RS was like that anyway in 2001.

  14. You don't know what "old" means, huh?

Define old? I'd say "old" as in "old-school" refer to something in the very past before things have changed. Some people refer "old" as things that exist for an extended period of time.

  15. It seems they dont want to spend too much risk on the store, at least not as much as before. Perhaps something to do with their brand new project.

Not too surpised about the outsourcing since we got our toolbars in similiar form, but it does seems that their market research may be lacking.

They did use the poll as customer research this time, although its not sure does the wildness hype can make people buy their new cap and t-shirts well.

  16. Imperfect or not, but it is reflecting how RL stock market works.

The initial price is set by the company, there exist a price cap and ceiling that you can offer at a time and you cant really buy 100% of any share unless you go thorough a lot of lobbying.

I believe the americians claim their market as a free market while they are printing lots of money everyday if I am not mistaken.
