  1. Sorry. Didn't know Karil's coif wasn't armour. And you still haven't explain why logically Karil's should have lesser melee defence. The thing is, with sirhemen's line, that's not the case, in an area with magical and melee monsters, people will use melee armour and mage def pray the majority of the time. Karil's doesen't need melee defence, because theres an incredibly limited use for it to have it. On the topic of the x-bow, at the time of its release, it was without a doubt the strongest ranged weapon in runescape, but time progresses, the bow is much like dragon, at once it was the best, but has been beaten by modern gear. The same goes for the coif, when barrows was introduced, it was the best defence ranged helm in the game, and has always been fairly cheap, so has always been quite worth it.
  2. What armor are you refering to? Karil's shouldn't have inferior stats to Black d'hide at all, especially not when it has higher requirements But for any smart person, it has much better stats. If you are using karil's, you will either be ranging something, in which you could only get hit by range/mage, which it has higher def, or melleing something that uses a mage based attack, in which it has better stats. If your meleeing something that melee's you, using black d'hide or karil's will both be a bad idea, so the defence won't matter.
  3. Finally, i was thinking about posting to remind you to start the competition, thought you'd forgotten.
  4. but then why have the drops at all, it would just end up back at what PVP was originally, which we can't do anymore due to RWT. It wouldn't be bad though, to only have drops worth equal to or less than what the opponent risks, but then would it still be profitable to pk?
  5. It definately needs nerfing. I will admit i do it. It is just over the top easy to make money. There needs a careful balance of stopping people from being able to do the trick, and keeping profits in it for pkers.
  6. WGS is definately one of the best examples, If i had waited for a guide to do that quest, it would have cost me 5m easily, but as i did it asap, i gained a nice 13m from doing a quest. I can use Summers End as another example of exploring leading to incredible rewards, not gp rewards but just plain old fun. Immortalised in my memory is the moment a tiffer shouted in the tif cc that the CB was in its cave, and about 5 other tiffers including me who had rushed to complete the quest at the same time went into the cave to be what i think, the first few players to ever see the beast. We had no idea what its attacks would be, what its hp was, what its drops were etc, but we still grabbed some gear and tried to kill it, about half an hour later we managed what i think was the first CB kill in rs (was rumours of DI killing it on another world). But if i had waited for a guide, or sat there asking other people about it,i would have missed that epic moment.
  7. Sounds pretty cool, wonder if Mod John A will check this while he's on holiday and be a bit nervous about having to go see the 'lead designer' about something he's done wrong :
  8. If it's unethical, then how is it not wrong? I understand the hesitance on wanting to do anything about it, but I won't accept a shrug and say, "can't do nothing about it." I believe there is a solution somewhere that both sides can agree on. Laissez-faire may mean "let it be," but I don't think it means "look the other way whenever something wrong happens." Sorry, by wrong I meant illegal. Obviously, anything unethical is wrong. My mistake! but it is illegal No, it is not. Unless you can find me proof in the official rules against manipulating the GE prices, than it is, as far as Jagex is be concerned, legal. This is goign very off-topic, this isn't to discuss wether it is right or wrong, its for the majority (who think its wrong from what i see) to discuss ways of stopping it. If you want to discuss wether its right or wrong, this thread viewtopic.php?f=30&t=797039 has some good arguments both ways.
  9. Can i guess that your a post-g.e only player? We haven't always had the g.e, we can trade person to person y'know. Without the g.e, its still possible to trade. Actually, getting rid of the g.e, keeping the caps, and having player-to-player trades control the market is a good idea. However, this could be easily abused by ring-merchanting by a clan, a sells item to b, who sells to c, who sells to d who sells to e who sells to a who sells to b etc. Get the ring large enough and an item could easily be forced up, which is why strict caps, item limits and trade limits are needed. The fundimental thing with a solution is that people in runescape a greedy, want things now and not later, and will do anything to get money for nothing. Combatting that is the key imo.
  10. I agree with your solution, in basic, it is slowing down the g.e,and any trades taking place on it, and encouraging player-to-player trades. The only problem is that it could also make it much easier for a clan to buy out and manipulate an item. If x item is brought out by a clan, people would (using your system) start trading the item player-to-player, however, this wouldn't stop the item from being brought out in the g.e, it wouls actually mean the clan has to buy less of the item to buy it out and increase the price ( i think) To fight that, a system tracking player-to-player trades would need to be implimented so that those trades could altar the price of an item aswell. Another solution could also be to just slow down any g.e trades, such as not being able to pick up an item/cash untill 10 mins after the trade is completed.
  11. Runescape? Can you be a bit more specific? :
  12. I want somebody to do that to me, i would play along with it for ages.
  13. Just wanted your guys opinions on this: A friend had a very good chance of being with somebody, but was too hung up on soembody else and passed up the chance. But is now not hung up on the person and i have no idea wether or not is still interested in the person they passed on. Now, think my friend would be a bit miffed at me if i was to end up with the person they passed on?
  14. Well, personally I don't lift a weight more than 8 times and most of the time it's just 5 times. But I'll do that for 5 sets. So effectively you're doing 25 reps, but you make the weight such that you couldn't do that in one set. You keep the intensity high, for strength training at least. I guess whatever you're happy with, we're just saying it's quite an inefficient way to go about it. I'l give it a go for a while, see how it works out, as i say, i have no idea what should work and what shouldn't.
  15. Have you tried just talkign to her, and getting to know her?
  16. As i say, i do nothing serious, ( i have no knowledge whatsoever as to what works best) as atm, i'm very happy with the body i have, it's just something to do when i'm bored and have nothing to do. I have no idea what i do with them, i just lift them :| I'm not an explaining type. So what your saying, is its better to just pound on the weight untill i can barely lift them 20 times?
  17. Pm me the name of he game, sounds like a good clue to me :D
  18. You have to remember, she's from Russia is it? No offence to russians, but somebody who was involved in this kind of thing i would guess didn't have the most amount of money in the world back home. So she probably isn't used to all the things you have in America. She's probably not used skype much before, or her mother couldn't hear her very well on the other side? Oh and the whole food thing when you were shopping, what's wrong with her buying different things from what your used to?
  19. Do they have a destroy option, or a drop option. Destroy will tell you how to get them back. If drop, drop them next to the trainer and see what he says.
  20. She doesen't sound that bad tbh, just a bit stricter than what your used to. you have to get used to change.
  21. Didn't see the news yesterday, so whats happening atm? Did hear on the radio that the home office (uk) have told people not to go to iran for non-essential reasons, like that wasn't obvious already?
  22. Can we have a clue? (not the console it was on please they don't help me at all lol)
  23. No offence to anybody who does or has done this, but why do people ask 'What should i do when i get members?' I see threads like that all the time here on tipit, and it utterly confuses me. When i first became a member, a majority of the fun was exploring the new places, not knowing what i was getting myself into, having a whole new world to explore. Doing any random quests i found while 'trying' to find this place called Ardougne i had heard about. If i could, i would erase any memory i have of the members world just to start over again, wandering aimlessly through the new world. I had a few friends at the time who had just become members aswell, and we all enjoyed this exploration, i even remember 3 of us, following each other doing the first treasure trail one of us had found, wandering all across runescape doing it for a black battleaxe at the end. But now, it seems people just want to get straight to the point, straight into training a new skill to x level, or getting x peice of content, where is the fun in that? It even happens with new quests sometimes, people will wait for others to explore new areas, so they can just get straight to the best part of it and gain x item, or train x skill again. How fun? :? Do people not like to just explore new areas anymore? Also, i'd like to know what others do when they first have access to a new area, or when you first got members.
  24. I don't get why theres any bother over 250 laps. Surely, if your training agility there, you would do more than the 250 laps anyway while training, its more of a by-product of training.
