  1. Just played Forum.tip.it - Search Button Now Playing?
  2. I seriously doubt he would. Or he must've had the "BFI" version, or a bootleg version of the Criterion release, which is worthless. Anyway, it seems like I'm missing it since I can't pay in terms. :(
  3. It's a freaking e-mail adres, why does it need a 'special' name. Just think of something that's easy to remember. :?
  4. To save my skin. Obviously I wasn't too serious and I'm sure Nadril knows that. Hence the " :P "
  5. Paperround, for some free local paper. After half a year I started dumping them because I wanted to do fun things.
  6. Damn. I've got the chance to buy the rarest DVD ever. The Salo Criterion Collection release, after 40 DVDs were printed because production had to be stoped. There are a lot of bootlegs, but this is the real one. ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì375,--. I'm in doubt. Damn, I want to know my salary. This is the DVD: 1. THE WHITE RING The genuine Criterion Collection "SALO" DVD has a white inner ring with a slightly frosted appearance. 2. CRITERION CATALOGUE CODE, SDI CODE AND "NIMBUS" LOGO STAMPED ON THE INNER HUB OF THE PLAYING SIDE OF DISC (a) The correct Criterion Catalogue Code CC1539DVD: Studios invariably have their catalogue codes stamped on the inner hub for identification and proof that it is a legitmate disc. (B) The mastering SID code (Source Identification Code): IFPI L127. The SID Code is an anti-piracy tool used in the optical disc industry, and is always prefaced by the letters IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry). It basically tells you what what Laser Beam Recorder in which pressing plant mastered and pressed the disc. SID Codes are required on legit discs. If no SID codes are present on a disc, then it is almost certainly a bootleg. For those unfamiliar with SID Codes and their anti-piracy function, please see the website of IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), where the protocols and significance of SID Codes and information on spotting bootlegs is further explained: http://www.ifpi.org © The stylized logo "Nimbus". This is the logo of Nimbus CD International, the Virginia-based company that presses DVDs for many studios. It is one of a small number of large concerns that presses legit discs for studios, the other notable ones being WAMO (Warner Advanced Media Operations) and Pioneer. Identifying these codes is probably the most reliable way of determining that the disc is original and authentic, yet few people know where to look or how to read them. These codes are only present on authentic discs because they are part of the glass master that presses the disc and cannot be replicated by bootleggers who simply "burn" from another disc. When buying a used disc, esp a valuable one, if the seller cannot show you the correct and relevant codes on the inside hub, then it is almost certainly a bootleg. 3. 29 CHAPTER STOPS ON THE INSERT I really want it. [edit] I mailed my mate who's selling it asking if I can pay in terms. I suck.
  7. Depends what mood I'm in. I think I've got most. With friends I'm louder and more funnier, when I'm with people I don't know I'm a bit more quite since I need to test a bit how far I can go. And when I need to I'm caring and serious and all those other things.
  8. 4 monts, 29 days, 13 hours, 11 minutes, 33 seconds, and the world will end.
  9. I think the soundtrack killed the most powerful moments of the Gladiator. :?
  10. And we arrived at my 10th movie of the year yesterdaynight. :P La Seconda Volta (1996) - I didn't really know what to expect since I'm not really familliar wit Mimmo Calopresti's work. But it was quite nice. The story is really powerful and it's not brought to you like you are used, it's really done normally nowhere things are blown up, and that's really great and the succes of this movie. The lack of dialogue is perfectly backed up with a great score and at some points beautiful photography. If you can get your hands on it, watch it. [story] *may contain spoilers* [story] La seconda volta speaks about a woman who after shooting a professor in the head and spending 10 years in prison comes out, tries to get back to having a normal life again, gets a new job and starts living in her own apartment. Her attempts to forget about her past are not as satisfactory as she wished they would be after she meets the person she had shot 10 years ago. Taken from taken from TheKills' user comments.
  11. The movie actually does makes an homage to the 'oldschool' Kung-Fu scene (movie-wise). The reason you and I don't know the references is that they are mainly based on 'real' old-school kung fu movies that never got spread worldwide and are kept in Asia. And because a director takes his own style doesn't mean his movie can't be an homage to older movies. :) 12 Angry Men - Damn, why is this movie so good. I watched it again tonight and I had the same feeling as the first time I watched it, I was again overwhelmed. Deff. one of the best movies ever made in my opinion.
  12. Movie nights are great. I'm having one with a friend of mine tomorrow. :) Only difference is we'll have pizza instead of noodles. :P

    Violence

I won't. I will get him/her to watch quality movies, and quality movies sometimes contain violence. I'd rather have him/her to see some violent pictures so that he/she can develop a full good taste than sensor his/her life and that he/she ends up having a bad taste. Of course I won't show him movies like Itchie the Killer (sp?) when he/she is five years old.
  14. Layer Cake - Pretty good, but we kind of know these things already. Craig did a good job and it was okay for it's genre. Nothing too special thougn. 7?/10
  15. I think we'll have apocalypse the 6th of june 2006.
  16. Kung Fu Hustle - The latest Stephen Chow film. Pretty nice, same style as Shoalin Soccer, over the top action and humor, and a funny story. Of course this movie doesn't lack the obvious references either. I enjoyed it a lot. 7/10 Blade Runner - In my opinion the best movie of the 80's. 8.5/10
  17. Quit the melodramtic things, if you want to get back just get back. If you don't it to be too much time consuming don't browse it too much. :P Anyway, 'welcome back' I guess. :) And hey, another person replying who I haven't seen in ages! Heya Banana, how are you doing?

    SCREAMO!!

Why are those people made up so pale. I don't really see the point. But I probably don't seen the point in any sub-culture. To me these people are just as bad as those retched ganster wannabes. I mean, it's quite pathetic if you need to be 'different' by your image rather than the power of your music.
  19. I still wonder why people hate Greenday so much. I actually think it's an improvement to go from three minute punk songs that sound the same after a couple of albums to go to something that has 'somekind' of 'deeper' meaning. And I don't think it's bad at all to give the 'normal' audience a bite in other genres.
  20. Garden State had a sweet soundtrack, good choice. I don't know if I mentioned "A love song for Bobby Long" already, it had a nice soundtrack that really portrayed the bluesy atmosphere of New Orleans.
  21. The song "the Mule" which I mentioned earlier in this thread is also on the live CD "Made in Japan" by Deep Purple. This CD is one of the best, if not the best, live registrations of a band ever. There is almost zero changes in the productio of this CD and every self-respecting rock music fan should have this CD.
  22. This is a topic about powerfull movies, not to brag about your semi interesting yet mediocore choice of "favorite" movies.
  23. I was listening to some of my Tupac albums again yesterday, and I have to admitt that his lyrics are really good as well, of course I already knew that but I kind of forgot about them. Of course there are the occasional "gangsta" rap songs with less top notch lyrics, but most of it are high quality lyrics. So I'm going for Tupac and Bob Dylan.
  24. Very nice collection, Assasin. You can see you like music. Have you seen the movie "Magical Mystery Tour" aswell? I forgot my Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane CD.
  25. I really liked Broken Flowers, it's deff. worth seeing it! Banshun (Late Spring) - :worship: A typical Ozu movie, absolutely amazing. You got to like it though. 9/10
