I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry wasn't that bad though.

If you think that is necessary (or funny maybe?), go ahead. Range: Since you like Darren Aranofsky so much I will recommend you a movie that could fall in the Aranofsky categorie. It's called Clean, Shaven. The movie deals with a man who is a schizophrenic. He's been released from a mental institution, and goes 'home' to get back his daughter. The movie experiments a lot with sound, giving it a really uncomfortable atmosphere which is said to be similar to the experiences of a real schizophrenic. Also, the editing is done by Jay Rabinowitz; the man who is responsible for the cutting in the Aranofsky movies. The movie has been released on DVD by the Criterion Collection I haven't got any specific thing I like. Though it would be nice if movies like Crash (the Haggis film) and other hollywood-arthouse crossover movies could be avoided. Also the usual stuff isn't worth mentioning since the chance I already know that is pretty big. So. Obscure material, is what it comes down to. I think. But do whatever you want. :) Things that I am into at the moment: Luis Bunuel, W.C. Fields, Douglas Sirk, Andrei Tarkovsky, Dardenne Brothers, Nicholas Ray, Film Noir, Maya Deren, Satyajit Ray, Alfred Hitchcock, Terrence Mallick, Wes Anderson, Robert Altman.

Boys. Good that you're so enthousiastic. But please. Read a bit closer.

Yes. Very creative. I know. : Don't forget to mention what you like. Movies, directors, actors etc. Otherwise we might get trouble. Have fun. :)

What is there to say about Dream Theater? It's a band of robots. They know how to play their instruments, but their music hasn't got a soul. And their singer really needs to be oiled. Seriously. What did you contribute to this thread other than opening it? You said that you think Dream Theater is better than Rush, and that Never Enough is your favorite song. Next to that you mention some random facts. I still have no clue why Dream Theater's music is better than any other band within the genre, or what you think is so good about them. Oh, you also said that Adio is an [wagon]. More or less, anyway. Good job man. Before you are going to complain that those who don't like Dream Theater should ignore this thread, I would like to direct you to the Dream Theater Fan Forum where everybody will say things that make you feel warm inside.

Yea, that's also something I have with muse. I really like their loudness, but their songs don't do or mean anything to me. Maybe that's the reason I don't play them much at the moment.

Yea, they could've just dubbed it in english.

I dropped out after Metropolis pt. 2 Unbelievable they stopped releasing on cassette. James Labrie is one of the best vocalists in the world though.

I can't get enough of Will Oldham's music. It's so incredible. I am also intensly enjoying this EP which is only covers (except for one song) #2 I've seen it all A cover of a Bjork/Thom Yorke song.

Ah, a pain. I'm glad they've released nearly everything. :) There's a lot of great filmmakers whose oevre hasn't been released on DVD. :) Got some more Scott Walker CD's, this guy is really good. Can't believe I've missed him, since he's everything I like about music. It almost feels as if it was specially made for me. His music is fantastic. It's dark and he is full of despair. He croons away like Frank Sinatra to sound like Antony the next minute. His music is very dark, theatrical and at times bizarre as hell. Deffinitly worth a try for the adventurous listeners among us.

Nah, it wouldn't. There's different studio's he has worked for, each studio has got various DVD-boxes, all with different movies. :) The different studios is also the reason that there isn't one big box. I don't know if you've got a DVD player that also plays region 1? If so, this is your best choice. the Universal Box: Alfred Hitchcock - The Masterpiece Collection (Psycho / Vertigo / Rear Window / The Birds / Shadow of a Doubt / Family Plot / Frenzy / The Man Who Knew Too Much / Marnie / Rope / Saboteur / Topaz / Torn Curtain / The Trouble with Harry The Warner Box: The Alfred Hitchcock Signature Collection (Strangers on a Train Two-Disc Edition / North by Northwest / Dial M for Murder / Foreign Correspondent / Suspicion / The Wrong Man / Stage Fright / I Confess / Mr. and Mrs. Smith the MGM Collection: Alfred Hitchcock Premiere Collection (Lifeboat / Spellbound / Notorious / The Paradine Case / Sabotage / Young and Innocent / Rebecca / The Lodger St. Clair Vision Box (containing nearly all his British material): * The Lodger (1927)* The Ring (1927)* Easy Virtue (1927)* The Farmer's Wife (1928)* Champagne (1928)* Blackmail (1929)* The Manxman (1929)* Juno and the Paycock (1930)* The Skin Game (1931)* Rich and Strange (1932)* Number 17 (1932)* The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934)* The 39 Steps (1935)* Secret Agent (1936)* Sabotage (1936)* Young and Innocent (1937)* The Lady Vanishes (1938)* Jamaica Inn (1939)

It was the closing day of the filmfestival today, and we had the yearly film quiz. Our team had to defend the title, and we won. again. That's three out of four times, second place one time (with 0.5 point behind). Here's a picture of me with the trophee.

Honestly, who cares? This topic doesn't contribute anything. Discuss it with your classmates or something. But don't bore us with the 10.000th metal/genre thread. God. I get tired from this. Sorry.

I don't really know what you mean. But it doesn't really matter. You think it sounds good, that's all that important. Normally I don't really post 'funny' pictures, but I thought this was pretty.

Praising a band for making an album that isn't 'half-assed' seems really weird. I guess love makes blind. :)
