Adio said solos suck. Which seems to a bit too strong. I'm not a fan of long solos either, because most of the time they seem to be nothing more than an ordinary display of a technical ability. Some kind of trick, that adds nothing to the song. There are exceptions on the rule of course.

Oh, the Bootleg records. They are fantastic, some of them I cherrish more than my normal Dylan records. :o So much alternative material, unreleased tracks, unique live recordings. It's a tresure for every Dylan fan. On the first Bootleg records there is a Dylan song, which is one of his finest if you ask me, that never got released before. It's called Blind Willie McTell. Then there's the live recordings, thee different ones, all essential, but the '66 Albert Hall Concert is a must for every Dylan fan. :

Angel Face After Laura (hist best known noir) and various other classics I think this is the last exersise in noir by Preminger. And this one is also a succes. I love his stripped style, it's really basic and it keeps a distance. Preminger respects his audience, and expects us to form an opinion of the caracters on our own. Various Preminger themes return in this movie, and that's a good thing to see. Especially in a time where artistic freedom in Hollywood wasn't really a standard. Howard Hughes, what a hero. Also nice roles from Robert Mitchum, who I always liked and Jean <3 Simmons <3.
