  1. Yea, I meant signature, Assassin, sorry. :P http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=PtB0y27yJSY David Sylvian - A Fire in the Forest (live) fan-tas-tic song.
  2. At least it is more fun, having a conversation with other people. Instead of reading dry pieces of text on the iternet, without any interaction. Of course we won't get the 'full picture' in this thread. That's not what I am looking for, I just want to get a bit of a general idea.
  3. How they are putting this in the market doesn't promise much good. Not that I care, of course.
  4. If there's a 50 page thread on the excistence of God, why couldn't there be one aobut Asian eating habits. Let's drop this arguement and lets see what comes from this thread. Alright? Penguingeek, you say all three meals are chinese. What kind of food do you have for breakfast and lunch then? Have you got special rice snacks or something? Or a 'bapao' bread, sometimes I have a rice roll with chicken at the market, it's called lumper/lemper?
  5. Hey, let's google everything. This way we don't need to have a conversation anymore! Imagine all the fun on the off topic forum!
  6. Well. Last night I was brushing my teeth, and suddendly I had to think about food and the eating culture in Asia. I came to think of that because here in Holland, and I think in more countries in the Western world, there is a Chinese or Japanese restaurant on every streetcorner (yea, I'm overreacting). Do you eat 'chinese' every day? Or do you eat a lot of western food as well? Do you have cooked potatoes with butter sauce no it, steak and carrots how about vla for dessert? And how is it with your restaurants? Is Asia stuffed with western restaurants, or completely full with Asian restaurants? I'm really curious. And I would bet my life on it that now that I have asked this question, there's more people who want to know about this! [edit]Changed the topic title to make this a little more serious.
  7. Oh, it's an other Japan than the one band I know. Sorry. :-#
  8. assassin avatar inspired me to put on Abattoir Blues again. Been a while since I played this record. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Get Ready for Love
  9. The headliners don't look too great. I mean, the Fratelis, Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age, Sergj Tankian, the Killers, Bloc Party (not too great live), Editors (kind of boring if you've seen them more than once), Metallica. Dizzee Rascal is alright. I wonder why We Are Scientists is with the headliners. Last year I've seen them with a version of London Calling here in Amsterdam, and then they didn't even have a record out. If you ignore the people at their concert they are quite funny as well. Justice, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, babyshambles, British Sea Power, Vampire Weekend, Last Shadow Puppets (yes, big too), Yeasayer, Chromeo, F*cked Up, Holy F*ck are worth seeing. But have a good time! And if you like those headliners I'm sure you will! Completely off at the we are scientist part. I meant We are the physics. >.>
  10. To me it would seem that every kid is different, and so they would react different to this. Therefore I think that it is good that these 'rules' are here. So I also wonder. Why do people think that if they were exposed to pornography and extreme violence at the age of 7, and they function normally now, this would go for the entire nation. Maybe, you could wake up and realize that the world isn't based on you.
  11. Uninteresting topic. People who don't want to eat meat shoudln't eat meat, and people who want to eat meat should eat meat. What is there to discuss?
  12. On sale from Amzon.co.uk Even gebruik maken van de aanbieding. 13. Wouldn't stab a good friend in the back. Maybe someone I just 'know' and chat with, if something gets better from it. I'm loyal to my good friends, to a certain hight of course.
  14. I can't think of anyone. First I wanted to reply "No, I don't want to kill any celebrity, but if I could choose one that I'd rather not see anymore I would choose ", I still stand with that, but I just can't think of anyone.
  15. Band from Iceland!! Yay!! Too bad it freaking stinks. Almost no one here in Iceland actually likes them. Same goes with Björk/Bjork/However you type it so you can understand. :P That's strange. When I saw the documentary/concertfilm Heima a lot of people were there. Have you seen those free concerts they did as well?
  16. When I am in the supermarket I always wonder how the people in front of me will get killed. I always try to make these kills as bizare as possible. Obviously it needs to happen in the supermarket. Kind of a Final Destination idea. But then always in a supermarket.
  17. Seen it yesterday. Didn't get my hopes up too much. It was a nice movie. Heath Ledger played an awesome part, and when he was around the movie was always a lot more interesting. Heath Ledger's role is also the only exceptional part of the movie if you ask me. Other than that it's nothing 'special'. A good action movie, nothing more and nothing less. So why eveybody says this is the best film they have ever seen? I don't know. Maybe I am spoiled. But just look at the dialogue...
  18. Come on dude. :| Obviously not vey smart, but this is still horrible news.
  19. In two and a half hour I am going to see it. First I could wait to see it, but now that I'm this close I really can't wait.
  20. Mihály Vig, Werckmeister Harmóniák. What I generally enjoy from movie soundtracks are the works of Toru Takemitsu, Bernard Hermann, the bombastic Max Steiner stuff. Michael Nyman and Phillip Glass are two obvious choices. Hikaru Hayashi has done some great work as well. I'm not going to do youtube videos. Just watch some movies. Alright. One youtube clip. It is the opening scene from Werckmeister Harmóniák, you can hear the brilliance of the score in full glory, and maybe it makes some people curious to see the movie. It's subtitled, even. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=VFmu7BYbthY The music starts at five minutes. But it's best to watch the entire thing.
  21. League of Gentlemen Arrested Development the Sorpranos Curb your Enthusiasm Rome
  22. Wall-E I don't think I've seen a movie aimed at younger audiences since George from the Jungle, at the cinema at least. I'm not a big animation fan, but when I saw Ratatouille I thought it was fantastic. So I wanted to see the new Pixar movie in cinema. And it was a fantastic movie! I thought it was perfect. Normally the Pixar movies take a bit too long, but this one was perfect. I liked both parts of the movie, and I thought it was excellent how they made those long silences acceptable for everybody. Not an easy thing to do.
