  1. Ok, then explain to me merchanting if it's not buying something at a low price from someone who doesn't know prices well and selling it at a higher price to someone who doesn't know prices well. It's always fun to argue with merchants because they admit that they take advantage of people yet yell at you when you point it out. LOL
  2. What legitimate honest player really cares about the price of rares? I've been playing over 2 1/2 years, 121 combat, 1978 total level and how many rares do I own? 0. How many rares do I care about? 0. Rares are/were bought and sold by merchants that take advantage of other players who aren't familiar with prices or by scammers. I'm glad the price has dropped, maybe this will teach the scammers and merchs to actually play the game instead of taking advantage of those who aren't as familiar with prices as they are.
  3. Going by the original post, there really are no admirable skill capes. "All it takes is patience and a lot of clicking" - That describes the entire game. I have 99 Fletching, Cooking, Strength and a Quest Cape. I worked hard for all of them. I did not "buy levels" but I did trade my cooked for raws and my completed bows for supplies. I wouldn't say that getting 99 Strength was any tougher than getting 99 Fletching or Cooking though. All I did was clicked on monsters and food until my Strength was 99. There are very few levels you can't "buy" which include Strength, Attack, Defence, Hitpoints, Mining, Woodcutting and Hunter. Everything else is "buyable" via runes, arrows, ores, bars, gems, leathers/hides, etc. If I were to name a least admiriable skill cape based on the starting post of this thread I'd say it was Prayer. I can buy 42k - 47k Dragon bones and get 99 Prayer in a few days, but I'd rather earn my levels than buy them.
  4. Obviously written by a child with no clue what the working world is like. No practical applications for typing? This kid thinks that only secretaries have to type on a daily basis? How about computer programmers, network administrators, supervisors of any kind, engineers, researchers, chemists. I'd be hard pressed to find a job that doesn't require typing skills now. Even the garbage man uses a computer back at the office to plan routes and special pickups.
  5. This is true, but it has to be 10 irrelevant or nonsense posts in a 60 second period or you could get in trouble for abusing the reporting system.
  6. When I was something like combat 30 I was mining rune essence with my Mithril Pick. I left to go bank, went back to Aubury and teleported back to the rune essence. To my suprise I appeared just a few squares from a Rune Pick Head. I was so excited. I spent weeks waiting for my mith pick head to fly off so I could replace it with the rune one. I still have that rune pick...
  7. LOL, If you go back and read most of the Times articles written by "The Editor" you will see that 99.9% of them are that way. I think "The Editor" has Adult AD/HD.
  8. My top 2 most annoying quests were: Mournings End Part 2 - The puzzle wasn't really difficult, just annoying. Devious Minds - 65 smithing and lose a ess pouch for that? Come on. And what ever happened to that story, it's been hanging for how long now?
  9. Wow, Tip.It Times is really going down the hole.... Last week it was a loon raving about all of the noobs being protected and how ugly a ditch is and this week it's an article about emergant gameplay that's for some reason titled to make you think it's about Wilderness ethics. Looks like it's time to get some more editors for Tip.It Times...
  10. And again, you forget what it's like to be low level. Since a few of my cousin's friends have recently started playing Runescape I have re-learned that, for a level 20-40 character losing full addy, or even full mith, can be devistating, and take ages for them to replace.
  11. Wow "The Editor" has really gone off his rocker this time. "The Ditch of Stupidity" should have been there from day 1. Don't forget, this game is targeted at children. Children like to explore. Also, mean children like to trick the other children into doing something they wouldn't normally do. This new wilderness is a great asset to new and inexperienced players who are most frequently the victims of lurers and scammers. I say Bravo Jagex, Job Well Done! To "The Editor" I say, we were all newbies once, if you had started during Runescape 2 at a younger age and had no guidance you may very well have been one of those unfortunate enough to be lured into the wilderness or inadvertantly stumble in.
  12. This is a topic that we have discussed several times in our clan. If you ran Runescape what would you change. Since we are a Non-PK / Skiller clan the obvious majority vote is to get rid of the Wilderness. But how would you do level 3 clues if there were no wilderness, they'd be just like level 2 clues? No, Level 3 clues have more difficult trails as well as Sara and Zammy Wizards to fight at every coordinate. The wilderness adds a little to the difficult of the clue, so I would expect the better rewards to be more rare if there were no wilderness. We aren't saying completely remove the Wild from the game, but offer worlds where there is no Wild at all. Many games offer PVP worlds as well as Non-PVP worlds. The second choice is obviously all of the rule breakers. Macroers are ruining the money making skills for everyone in the game and Scammers are taking your money or items which are becoming harder to get because it's getting harder to make a good amount of money.
  13. I've seen lots of obvious "autoers" in the game. However, I have seen even more characters accused of autoing who I'm pretty sure aren't autoers - they are 6 - 8 year olds who can't read or type well enough to communicate. Next time you see a character doing repetitive but somewhat random things, but who says nothing and won't respond to questions, ask yourself whether you are dealing with an auto program or a 6 - 8 year old. Either way the account should be banned...Check the age requirement for the game.
  14. Ummm, you've never been a Dungeon/Game Master have you? The whole point of being the D/GM is to CONTROL EVERYTHING. Yes, you provide the illusion that the player has control, but you regain control the entire time. Maybe Jagex's player illusion is slipping...Then again, maybe we just have to many experieced Lurers, Scammers and Hackers in Runescape for Jagex to allow us NOT to be babied. It's all about the community, when the loudest part of the "community" in runescape is complaing about the Lurers, Scammers and Hackers then Jagex has to respond to that.
  15. In my OPINION PK'ing in any way is not acceptible and Luring is the lowest of the low. Why do I think PK'ing is not acceptible? No I didn't get pk'ed and lose a ton of money or anything, I always avoid the wildy unless getting a god staff or doing a level 3 clue. The reason I think it is wrong is because the laws of our real life society say it's wrong. Here's an example: I have bigger muscles than you so give me your wallet right now. I know, "It's a game, it's not real life". However people, especially kids at the impressionable age that many Runescape Players are, imitate what they see on a day to day basis. That's my OPINION on PK'ing and Luring, take it or leave it, it's just an OPINION
