Returned player looking for DiY advice.
The task system provide ample ways of acquiring GP early on and get you important items (like the explorer ring). Quests are also invaluable for access to areas and get good items. I found the best way to acquire your items would be from training slayer, slayer specific monsters tend to drop lots of decent items along with seeds for farming and clue scrolls (hard ones ofc, your main source of income and rune items). The seeds you get will provide you with herbs and such for farming and the crops can be used as alternative foods, should you not want to fish for food (which you should do). Paying attention to monster weaknesses is important (as stated), some easy to acquire items you might want to set goals for to aid in combat are: Torag's Hammer, Crystal Bow (it might be expensive at first, but gets cheaper) and of course, an abyssal whip. The important thing to do with DiY accounts is to be patient :P

Best melee xp 90+?
Note that Defence can be trained using Range and Magic. However, on the topic of the best melee xp outside of slayer (according to Gemeos's sheets), Fire Giants are 250kxp/hr, assuming max efficiency (Max gear, ovls, familiar, tagging everything, Turmoil and such) Not having these would still generate good xp. I don't know if cannoning will generate melee xp (i havent used a cannon since EOC) but the logical place to kill them would be in the Waterfall dungeon. Defence, can and should be trained with Magic as you can acheive more kills per hour with it. Ganodermic beasts are aparently 600kxp/hr. So it is worthwhile to train Slayer.

Stop eating Tesco/Sainsbury (other supermarket, local store) meal deals. They destroy my wallet.

what was your first job ! ?
First Job: Volunteer at a charity shop (for like a year or so, good work experience) - During 6th form Second Job: Worked at a (posh) (very upperclass) chocolate shop (sales assistant yaknow), in central london, and remained a stable weight! God the chocolates were good. (Only for the Summer, still earned myself a small fortune, and free choc). I have been offered to returned during Easter/V.Day/Christmas's but Uni keeps me at busy until such events have passed. Found the job on Gumtree, have at it!
