[*:sme09q09] Americans: Fat, lazy, rich, and stingy. Right? [*:sme09q09] Blacks: Must carry a gun, want to fight you at the drop of a dime, and are poor. Right? [*:sme09q09] Hispanics: Can't speak a lick of english and work at construction sites. Right? [*:sme09q09] Pious people: Snobby gossipers that want to shove their faith down your throat. Right? As a matter of fact though, most of those stereotypes apply to very few of that select group of people. Those things are, however, popularized by today's culture and media, among other things. Same thing goes for pures. Seeing as many pures are quick to jump to insulting and "pwning" you for the slightest thing, that's how they're thought of. Many pures have in fact drop traded from their main or bought gold. Many do overuse the term "noob". But on the other hand, some pures are trained from level 3 legitimately, from the start. But people don't see that. I know that when I see a character running around with iron armour and a Rune Scimitar, possibly a rare, I automatically think "pure.. pfft." I don't personally like pures because of these stereotype. There are many exceptions, but some people to give those exceptions a chance to show themselves. So I'm gathering herbs at Chaos Druids, minding my own business. I'm reading the forums here and talking to Saru, not minding the game screen really. So I look back to the screen, and I see that there's some PvP action going on right under me. I right click to see who's fighting.. Some level 69 is hitting me!.. I look at my health, and I'm nearly dead. I think to myself "Oh well, at least I've got the expensive stuff still." All I could say before I died was "Oh geez". The PKer and the other person there just laughed as I fell to the ground. So now I'm in Lumbridge, and I look at my inventory to see what I kept. It's empty. I was skulled, not the other guy. I have to admit that he had a clever little guise. He dressed up in the red Zamorak robes with short white hair, looking innocently like another Chaos Druid. I had innocently clicked on him thinking he was another Druid, and went about looking at the forums. #-o So it wasn't a big loss; maybe 180-200k in all, plus the unids I had and some runes I picked up. Next time I'll just have to be more careful about who I'm really attacking. -.-
