I just returned to RS from a long long time ago, to find that my blue hat(which I happened to buy right after the party hat scandal, in which all hats could be sold for like 10k) is worth more money than god. Naturally, I sold it since I would have the money to go to 99 smithing and 99 magic (basically the only two skills worth buying stuff for on f2p). I considered starting on the laborious task of going to 99 smithing, and then I realized - is it worth it? I mean... do I really recieve that much fun from being 99 stat? I wouldn't feel like I've accomplished anything... they're just 2 characters that jagex could change in a second. I wouldn't recieve huge amounts of respect from being 99 smithing. Then again, I am f2p, so I thought about going p2p for the quests, however I realized that the quests probably couldn't entertain me for a sufficent amount of time. The skills in p2p would run into same problem as skills in f2p - they're basically meaningless. So then what... pking? I had a noob pker, and pking got boring as anything too. You get a lot of money, and hey what does that do... you can merch and then get even more, but eventually youll have to spend the money, since owning all of rs's phats gets pointless after a while. Basically, everything goes back to the 99 stats problem - you spend like literally 2000 hours getting 99 skills, and you get a few pixels, get to brag a bit, and some noobs that try to beg out of you. Conclusion? Runescape just isnt fun enough. Once you've reached an established level, it's not worth it to go on. Games are all about getting the feeling of "owning" people and getting respect. The whole point of a game is to beat noobs and then say, "OMFGWTFLOL PWNEDZ0RZROFL." Then you feel good. And you can't really do that with RS... So instead I think I'll try some CS. What do you think?
