It's Super Effective!
So, after clicking a link by some guy with two posts, which claim to have to do with Jagex vs RWT and ended me up on a page where it wanted me to log into RS, except that the green bar thing was missing, I deleted all my recent browser stuff and am scanning my computer. I feel paranoid of getting a keylogger, considering I just went to a page made explicitly to hack my RS account. Other then not entering a password for anything till my antivirus finishes, you guys have any other precautions?

Hiscores poll
I don't think Jagex should continue with their plan and I think F2P should be on the highscores. Don't care much about the inactivity thing. Also, the first two questions are practically the same :P

They are volunteers. They are players. They do not work for jagex and do not represent jagex. They are certainly not subserviant to jagex. How do individuals that have been given authority within a Jagex entity not represent Jagex ? There seems to be a lack of understanding of how companies/organizations operate in real world situations on this thread. Unfortunately we do not live in a idealistic utopia where everything is in accordance to what we believe is "deserved" or "just". We live in a world where companies act pragmatically to protect their own best interests. If a volunteer for a political campaign came out and bashed the candidate they were volunteering for, they would summarily be fired. I expect nothing different from Jagex. This is very much a false analogy. A game is not a political campaign. If it were, these mods would run on campaigns of I'm a jagex fanboy when they were modded. But Pmods represent the players, not jagex. What jagex did to them was to betray their trust. If it were a jmod, the situation woukd be much different. Fair or not, Jagex has every right to remove you for disagreeing with them. I personally think it's rather cold, but after the Jiblixx thing, we shouldn't be surprised.

People saying "just pay for it, don't deserve it, bla bla bla" One. Probably half of the people complaining about this are actually current RS members. Who pay. Frankly, the amount of people dismissing the complaints against this update, is (I'm pretty sure) smaller then the amount of MEMBERS who are complaining/disagreeing with it. I honestly think no hgihscores removal would win in a P2P only poll, judging by this thread. Two. I fail to see how this actually helps Jagex. Of all the appealing things off being a member, the highscores list isn't up there. It's more likely to hurt Jagex in the long run since most members spend a long time being F2P and the lack of highscores in F2P could detract from it. It's been suggested time and time again that Jagex just put an activity filter and maybe a F2P/P2P filter. As for competition, I dunno, offer something members only for competition? In-game stat-tracker things... be creative. But don't take away something from F2P and limit it to P2P. Jagex is supposed to come out with NEW content for P2P and F2P is supposed to get the recycled stuff.

Well, since my post would just be deleted if I posted there, I'll say here what I said in his last thread - he's either a complete moron or a troll, and my money's on troll. I even felt slightly bad after saying that last time, between his reply and getting deleted, but... this... I am not (trying) being mean, I am being truthful.

=D =D =D Lol. The worse part is you're right. Frankly, I'm indifferent to this; yeah, a fair amount of hosts would scam, but you can find trustful hosts if you look around. And as I sad before, I think anyone who diced who wasn't hosting is/was an idiot. Regardless of whether or not the host was a scammer. The problem is they didn't like the gameplay that emerged. How in the 7 flying [bleep]ing hells is that not going to be rigged? Here's the thing - for a dice game varient to work, it needs to be something with, judging by past games I've seen, higher then 50/50 odds but equal or lower then, say, 1/3 odds. The numbers have to work in a way that the hosts can make money over time, while keeping the balance off odds vs reward high enough that people will still gamble. It won't be nearly as effective if it can't work in the GE. And it needs to be something that can't be easily manipulated. Lastly, can't be something Jagex can easily fix. Flowers - planted in a non-changing pattern. Horses - you say all the phrases in consequetive order. I saw a comment on odd vs even hit - that's probably going to be exactly a 50/50 ratio, something you can't profit with over time. I thought of 1hit k0s on weak monsters, but that could be manipulated with brews or other potions. Plus it's hard Quite frankly though, the biggest issue is that whatever players come up with, Jagex will probably keep nerfing the game until people run out of ideas.

Because most members start off as F2P players? Honestly, a one-off fee for the highscores or a limited amount of months on F2P seems more reasonable then this. (For the record, I still think those are bad ideas, just not AS bad.) In terms of the RSOW thing, considering the general accuracy of most wikis, the accuracy of RS wiki, and the accuracy of the RSKB, I think I can fairly say I expect this to improve the quality of information available on the RS site. As for the highscores thing, I honestly think that if there was a PURELY P2P POLL on whether or not F2P should have highscores, I think F2P having highscores would win, especially if the overall reaction on this thread is any example. Plus, given the loss of potential future members due to the highscores, and the fact that I really, really have trouble imagining people actually becoming members for highscores, makes me think that this move could overall have them lose money. Honestly, inactivity filter, F2P/P2P filter, some combination of the two... on a related note, we should be able to look up the stats of every player (combat for PVP scenarios, but other skills for possibly DG, SC or simply clan reqs.) Honestly, Jagex should just do an effing P2P poll on this, realize that most members are supportive of P2P having highscores, and just put in a F2P/P2P and inactivity/activity filter. And a way to see the stats of any players would be nice as well.

Akrisae Armor Set
Considering it's mage, or at least mage/melee hybrid armour, anywhere you mage with prayer it's fairly useful. Depending on the spell and prayers you're using, it might even be worth using the full effect in some places when your prayer gets low.

It's not a "free" MMORPG anymore.
Yeah... I don't see why they should remove F2P high scores. Hell, it shouldn't be hard to implement a PVP highscores, should it? As for DG, I've long thought that the exp cap was only a temporary solution back when DG first came out and F2P had access to all floors. But yeah... now F2P is losing content? I mean, I stopped caring about the highscores ages ago, but still. Like many members, I've often thought that Jagex should actually look into moving some of the oudated P2P content over to F2P. Not start getting rid of it. (Even if it's something, imho, as useless as the highscores.)

Same here, but that's what I get for staying up till 2 when I have to get up at like 6 for my 8am class. I feel surprisingly awake (for having 4 hours of sleep) and don't feel horrible. Starting to question how soon it'll get locked. Oh, Dash signatures back in the game. Didn't know that guy was trolling until his last post. At least, I HOPE he's trolling... well, the anti-dragon potions to protect himself from [the dragon's] poison kinda gives it away.

Tip.It Times - 13th November 2011
Lol, catch with giving F2P dragon bones is that not only could they SELL dragon bones, they could BUY dragon bones. You'd increase the supply and demand. All you can do is hope that the supply increases more then the demand; which wouldn't necessarily happen imo. Remember that, even in that hypothetical scenario, Members worlds would likely supply far more dragon bones because P2P would still have a far larger supply of dragons. As for F2P having bot problems because of lack of updates... nah. That boiled down to people making throw away F2P accounts to RWT purposes.

I never ran over my fingers. Those were awesome. So, why do we stop doing those sorts of things when we grow up...? I still own mine, although I don't even remember the last time it got plugged in. Only thing the GC is good for now is Smash Bros Melee. Or if you haven't yet beaten then Zelda games. Idk, the part where you gotta randomly hunt down all the triforce shards is kinda sucky imo.
