Not always. One of my friends parents was the toughest guy I knew, but he suffered from terminal depression. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and shot himself. He was a great guy and managed his depression well. It's still hard to believe he's gone. If he was so tough, why didn't he get help? He may have been tough on the outside, but obviously he was depressed on the inside. The second he shot himself is the time I can classify him as a weak person for not getting help. I'm not insulting his life. I am insulting his choice.

School. I need to focus on getting good grades rather than spending my time playing a game that won't give me anything (like a good job) 10 years from now.

Basically, there should be a "they believe in God" rather than a "you/we believe in God" sort of thing.

If it's hard, I read over my notes and do any worksheet/study guide my teacher gives me. Then, I study in our little 30 minute break we get everyday (we have 7 periods. 3 academics, 3 electives, and 1 period where half of it you study in a classroom and the other half you eat lunch). Usually, there is this girl who is taking most of the classes I am so we usually study together at school. If it's easy, screw studying.

We need to make a distinction between preached and taught so we actually know what people mean.

I disagree. In public schools, one religion shouldn't be taught as any more correct over another - but, if we're talking about being educated and preparing for life - it is absolutely necessary to teach religion in schools - ALL religions. Being well educated about the world - so that we can understand and therefore better communicate with all of the different world cultures - means understanding their religion. In the Middle East - their religion IS their life and government - so we need to understand where they are coming from when they do different things, and that means learning their religion. Learning religions from an objective point of view in social science classes is vital to our education. How do you disagree with me when I agree with you? Religion should be taught... not preached

Well, if we wanted it to be 18, we should've done it a long time ago. If the US all of a sudden changes it to 18, the teens would go crazy for the first couple of years. Everyone 18-20 year old would probably rush to the nearest liquor store or gas station.
