  1. Depending on how mean the brothers are, I can usually get between 7 and 9 trips done each trip (I bring 4 pots), there are some great trips where I come out with 3/4 of my sharks, and some where I have to bank halfway through
  2. All these good luck wishes are bringing me bad luck, someone tell me to break a leg or something ;o Thanks for the support, drop by anytime on w91 :D
  3. Basically I just dart in guthans, with the inv you see in reward pics.
  4. Thanks so far everyone :D ikzelf, I use 2 doses a run, praying on only dharok and using what's left on karil, or ahrim if it lasts past karil. Usualy do between 5-7 runs a trip depending on food use. Been out most of the day so not much in the way of chests, but today's a new day to barrow :)
  5. Introduction. Welcome. Before I begin, I'd like to propose an introduction to myself, as well as this thread. Read through it if you'd like, otherwise feel free to skip ahead =) So as not to bore you all with a life story (available on request ;o), the summary of my Runescape "career" if you will, is such (although it is a small read): I began Runescape playing humbly on RSC, where the fields where flat and the players were flatter. Finding Runescape quite entertaining, I decided to stick with it for a couple of years, making friends, as well as enemies, along the way. It quickly became my favourite game to play. Then came RS2. When I first logged onto this new fancy version of my favourite game, I immediately thought to myself in disgust, "Who is responsible for spawning this trash?!" Used to the graphics and goings on of RSC and unwilling to accept change, combined with other factors in my real life as well as on Runescape, I decided to quit Runescape. This choice turned out for the better, and I managed to stay away from the game completely until a few years later. In the RSC times, we had a saying something along the lines of "Once a Runescaper, always a Runescaper." I'm not sure if this saying still exists today amongst the communities, as since my return I haven't been as active in forums and the like as I used to be. Regardless, the saying described me perfectly. Although I had played other games, and enjoyed other past-times over my time away from Runescape, I was a Runescaper at heart, and eventually made my way back to my calling. :boohoo: Having been away for a good few years, I had missed many an update to the game I used to call my online home. Skills I had never seen before, minigames I could never imagine, and new armour that was but a myth of ever being created in the days of RSC. One of these minigames was the infamous barrows, where riches beyond one's wildest dreams were obtainable in the shortest of times. After reading many guides on this minigame, I was looking forward to maging my way through the barrows of Runescape. But alas! I had yet to obtain the levels and equipment needed, let alone those recommended. I had nothing left from my days of RSC, as I had declined the opportunity to move my items over to RS2 when it was presented. I decided that this was a bump in the road on my quest to attempt the barrows. I worked my way through levels and funds, before coming to a halt when I decided I shouldn't be playing this game, lest I become as addicted as I had been before. Due to a few in-game issues, I decided to quit, and gave everything I had away. Not three days later, I realised that it was too late, I had already become addicted once again to this horrible, amazing game. I got back to my account, and my quest. Having finished the level requirements I wanted to attempt the Barrows, I proceeded to collect the funds. I finally had everything I needed, and went down to the barrows. Being my first time, it took me a while to actually complete one run of this maze. The reward: Some runes?? Is this what I had to look forward to? Forget it, not worth my time! And so with that, I left barrows for a while, only to return at a later time (seems I have a habit of doing such). I had a few pray pots saved up, and decided to "waste" them on some free chaos and blood runes. I went down to the barrows once more, and on my last run of my last trip, a guthans spear! That left a good impression of barrows in my head, although I was finished for the time being. Having gathered more resources since that point, I decided to try barrows once again. In about 12 hours that I had dedicated to Barrows, and slacking off during barrows, I managed to use 40 pray pots, which was 80 trips for me. My return was a handsome ~12m in items, and a few more mills in runes. Barrows seemed profitable, and it was definately something I enjoyed, and so I decided to stick with it. The Road Ahead This brings me to the present. With all of my Runescape past out of the way, I would now like to focus on my Runescape future. Having bought quite a few prayer potions, and spent some time combining them, with the help of some friends, I am making it my goal to use them exclusively on Barrows, posting my progress on this thread to not only share my achievements with those who enjoy viewing them, but to keep an organised log of my progress, and more than anything, to keep me motivated. Here are the resources I will be starting with, minus some spare rune arrows I have from drops, and the gear I will be using: My starting stats: (107 cmb) I will update my progress daily with pics of trips where actual barrows items were rewarded, as well as a bank pic of all items collected every few days, and a written text log of daily goings on. You can also come and say hi or barrow with me anytime on world 91. :D Logs & Rewards .1-Daily Text Logs Day 1 - Bought p pots and combined them with the help of some friends (you know who you are, tyty :)) Day 2 - Going to be busy most of today, not too much time for barrows. I should be able to get a few hours in today though. Also, today is the first day for logs, etc. Day 3 - Forgot to update today =x Nothing really, just a dh plate and a rune plate from someone who got 2 hit by Dharok ;o Things are starting out slow, but I have all day today to barrow so here's hoping. Day 4 - Another dry day :( So far only a halfkey today, although I must admit I've been slacking. Tomorrow I'm going to dedicate a few hours straight to barrows without any breaks or straying for other things. Gotta get back into my groove :D Day 5 - I think the genies are absorbing my luck and putting it in all these lamps -_- Maybe posting another bank pic will scare em off :P Day 6 - As it turns out, I'm distracted very easily. Who knew? I actually timed how long I was at barrows today, compared to the time I was taking breaks or chatting, and it turns out the appeal of social interaction is greater than that of barrows! So for tomorrow, I'm going to switch to ancients, turn off all chats, log off of all messengers, and turn privacy to off. Then we'll see what gets my attention :D Another uneventful day unfortunately due to the reasons stated above, so let's hope that tomorrow will own. Day 7 - Only a gaxe today, but "i" "found" a "lost" friend from a long time ago, so I'm good ;o Still got lots of time left in the day so I'm hoping for the best. .2-Trip Rewards Dharoks Plate - 16/08/06 Ahrims Hood - 18/08/06 Dharoks Greataxe - 20/08/06 .3-Bank Pic(as of 18/08/06) (15/08/06) - First Bank Pic (18/08/06) - After a bit of slacking, I'm ready to go again .4-Total Loot Loop Halves - 2 Tooth Halves - 2 Dharoks Plate - 1 Ahrims Hood - 1 Dharoks Greataxe - 1 .5-Levels 78 Mage (missed pic :() 16/08/06 79 Mage - 18/08/06 - Entangle wewt :D Misc. I guess I may as well get this out of the way before it's asked: Why am I doing this? Well, since rsc I've wanted a white phat of my own. The times where one was within my reach, something had to ruin it. Either prices would go up, or something would happen to my stashed funds (hacking was huge in rsc =/) Of course I don't expect to get a white phat out of barrows - although that would be wonderful; all I'm looking to do is get closer to one. Anyway, many thanks for reading through all this, it took me a while to write, and it'll take me even longer to finish. Hopefully you'll stay with me through my adventures in the barrows. All comments, suggestions, and critiques, are welcome with open arms.
  6. Perhaps it was because of the fact that the majority of this article was nothing more than random rambling, but this seems like a very off job. What I see is an introduction to the worlds of runescape, a list of 7 worlds commonly used for team tasks -- with a few key worlds (and uses) missing, and 5 painful paragraphs hilighting the pros and cons of jagex acknowledging said worlds. I definately don't see a Having a week to come up with a topic and properly educate yourself in related information, I would've expected better.
  7. Like Diablo, me likey. :D As for your last comment, about strategy, I doubt that. Since you cannot control the spells your mercs cast/when they use their specials, etc, different players' Mercrenaries would merely cancel each other out, thus a waste of money, until the point where no one used them anymore, at which point players would realise that if they hired mercs, since no one else was using them, they could have an advantage, more would follow, and the use of mercrenaries would fluctuate nonstop, becoming a neuscence. Whoa, run on sentence there. :D
  8. 1. There are already furnaces, and anvils, incredibly close to banks. The only thing that I would see coming from a portable anvil would be allowing smithing to become an overly-maxed skill such as cooking or fletching 2. You have to take into consideration the amount lag that horses would add to runescape. Imagine fally world 2 in peak hours, now imagine that while you're just riding your horse normally anywhere, as a horse would easily be the size of 3 people. Now, imagine fally world 2 in peak hours with half the people on horses running around. Chaos. 3. Combat is already extraordinarily easy on RS2, dual wielding would only add to the speed at which you could powerlevel your combat. Runescape was never intended to be a game you could max everything out in one week. If you don't like how long levelling takes, find a different game, or move on to another skill. 4. Although this would help a lot of people, and I am all for this, being a lazy person myself, it would make RS2 much easier than it already is. Skills in which the "Process X" command exists would be beyond the point of requiring any effort whatsoever, and that's not what Runescape was indended for.
  9. Was this supposed to be funny or something? Looked like you were trying to get some laughs but it wasn't happening. Yeah, lots of autoers, and its surprising, but not that surprising.
  10. I've recently become somewhat of a totaller, although the time I've spent on my skills hasn't really been signifigant: 1)30,476,940 2)6,883,322 3)22.5% (23% rounded)
  11. Great guide, however I feel that two things can be corrected. Firstly, I prefer to have the strings/unstrungs/logs in the bottom right instead of the top, to reduce mouse movement. Also bottom right is sort of a "default" for my hands. Secondly, if you're doing 14 bows/unstrungs (fastest way IMO, for obvious reasons), have the bow on the second-lowest spot on the rightmost column. This way, the distance you have to move your mouse from material is reduced, all you have to do is move the mouse down and click (down is easier than left or right for me), and there is less of a chance of you "missing" the second material. I know when I did it left-to-right, I sometimes sped my pace up, which resulted in me not moving my mouse far enough to one side to click the material.
  12. Not even close. What you might be thinking of is a proxy, or perhaps a dialup modem?
  13. Well, I lost my members before I could check out the fight cave things, and the tip.it guide doesn't include shop inventories to my knowledge. Anywho, my questions are: What is there that's so good in the shops, and is this what people are after so many tokkuls for?
