no, the minigame gives you runes to use. (Unless it's possible to cast spells using the runes they give you???)

Since 1k coins is not that much, it really doesn't matter. However, from personal experience, i think they are almost identical. The mysterious box gives the 4 non-member gems, half keys, and random [cabbage] like cabbage or steel plates, etc.
