Sure, combat and games rooms are great when having friends around but what about something to do when on your own? Why don't we make homes more useable? With the New Skill Room, I believe it will keep people using their POH. 2.0 Overview These new skill rooms are quite different to the skill hall currently used in the POH. Instead of putting up trophies to show your skills, this room lets you USE your skills. To make it fair, you can only have one style of skill room at a time. When you choose to build this room, you also choose what kind of skill you want to use in the room. I'm still undecided whether or not the items in the room will cost money or not. 3.0 Skill Rooms When building your new skill room, you can choose from one of the following options. 3.1 Mining and Smithing This room, obviously, lets you mine and smith. The room will contain one furnace, one anvil and *undecided* ore rocks. You can place any ore in this room. You will require eight of each ore (100 as suggested by dragondanro) plus 4 clay (maybe a fee as well.) for each ore. For example, 1 coal rock requires 8 coal, 4 clay (and maybe a fee) Once the ore is mined, you can then smelt in in your furnace, then make armour using the anvil. To create a furnace, you will need 10 steel bars. For an anvil, you will need 5 iron bars. 10 Construction will let you place copper and tin ore, 20 construction lets you place iron ore, 30 Construction lets you place coal and so on, right up to 60 Construction for Rune Rocks. (As suggested by dragondanro: 10 Construction for copper and tin, 25 Construction for Iron, 35 Construction for Coal, 50 Construction for Mithril, 70 Construction for Adamant and 85 Construction for Rune.) They also require their mining lvl to be placed in your house. 3.2 Fishing Another choice for your skill room, fishing. This room will contain a small tool store similar to the one in the workshop that contains fishing equipment. There are 3 types of ponds, small pond, medium pond and large pond. Small pond holds 2 fishing spots, medium 3 fishing spots and large 4 fishing spots. Small ponds require 2 soft clay and 4 buckets of water, meduim ponds require 4 soft clay and 8 buckets of water and large ponds require 6 soft clay and 12 buckets of water. To stock a fishing spot with water, you have to place 5 fish of your choice in each one. You must have the fishing lvl to fish these fish to place them in your pond. A new 'fish cage' can be used to obtain live fish, each cage holds 5 fish. Small ponds require 20 Construction, medium ponds require 40 Construction and large ponds require 60 Construction. 3.3 Woodcutting and Fletching This choice for your skill room will be simpler than the above mentioned skills. You can grow an *undecided* amount of trees and 3 or 4 flax plants. To grow trees, you follow the same procedure as it is done in a garden. Flax plants will also follow a similar system. You can also build a spinning wheel, which requires 5 oak planks. A small tool store also features here, which contains a knife and you can store any axe, but you must have the axe in your inventory, then you place it on your tool store. 3.4 Farming Also another simple option. This includes a tool store which contains all the farming necessities. You can grow 1 of the following: tree or fruit tree. You can grow 2 of the following: allotment or hops. You can have 1 herb patch and 1 flower patch per garden. 3.5 Crafting I'm not too sure about how this would work. Any posts on how it should be set up would be greatly appreciated. 4.0 FAQ Questions will be answered here. 5.0 Additions As dragondanro suggested, he said that for each ore rock it should require 100 ore instead of 8. It has been added in brackets, more comments on this to finalise the decision would be great. 6.0 Conclusion Well, thats my ideas for a new skill room. Feel free to post CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Needless flaming and spam will be reported. Feel free to debate the topic, but be nice. Also feel free to post any additions you think could be added. Thanks. PS: I know I'm not very arty, but I created a sig anyway. Put this in your sig!
