Just like the wilderness update in my opinion. It will definitely hinder, if not eliminate, scamming (at least with cash), just like luring is dead right now. People complained about the wilderness update, although it really didn't hurt anybody, just like this one won't.

Thanks everybody for your input. I really want to invest my santa in a mad dash to 65 slayer and see how things go after that, but I know that rares will skyrocket this summer, so I'm not sure that I want to sell it. I only have about 1m in my bank and I wouldn't be able to sell more items and get up to 2m cash, so I think I'm going to train some primary skills and then see what I want to do with the cash. Off to chins, then maybe some willow cutting or iron-mining action after that :-w Thanks again everybody. It seems I have been so caught up in levels and competition (especially after setting up a runemonkey account) that I have lost track of enjoyment and fun. There are several different possibilities: rares become untradeable MTK falls apart autoers are banned rare drops aren't tradeable armor-wearing skill <---forget it, that was stupid not being able to use others' skills (like needing 82 herblore to weild a dds) and the list goes on....

This is a discussion that has been going on for years and will continue on for much longer; skillers and combat vs. total level ratios. First of all, I'd like to point out that I idolized swampjedi, one of the best sub-90 combat skillers in the game (that means he has a lot of levels (1900+ total) below 90 combat (he has 88)). Some people train combat only, and some rely primarily on skills. I have maxed out 3 of the easiest skills (fletching, cooking and firemaking) and have become quickly bored without combat. I've been aspiring for all stats 70+, among other goals, but most of my lower stats aren't going so well. Every skill in the bottom two rows is either very slow xp or very expensive, so all stats above a certain level tends to be difficult. I'm not the only one out there who aspires to be like swampjedi, and I know that I won't ever be like him. On the other hand, many people do little but kill. The best example I can come up with is [apparently he's not the mods' best friend, but he was happy if you remember]. He has 126 combat and has terrible non-combat skills. I can't relate to him, but I know that others can. I see where they come from: you can only know the combat level of somebody unless they are wearing a skillcape or you look them up in the highscores, and killing is much more fun because of the variety (slayer) and different types of combat (different types of melee, mage, and range). So, here's where you come in. I want to know your opinion on skills vs. combat. I'm getting bored with skills and have 20m+ to spend on barrows, dragon, and rune, and that option is looking good. On the other hand, I have 1620+ total at 93 combat, which I see as an accomplishment. I know that others have been in the same situation and have come out of it strong. I'm going to bed. I have my last two exams tommorrow, so I'll be back soon to check on this thread. I'm really in a fix and I need to hear some opinions being thrown around. Note: this should not be in help and advice; I am using a personal story to add to the argument.

I don't know you at all in real life, but if you're out of high school, I'd reccomend you find something better than runescape to do. If you're young, you'll come back. Either way, remember that some things are more important than rs in life. I feel your loss, I have no grandparents myself. :cry:

Iffy beyond best. The runescape world is very small and its not only pointless but it is impractical to compare it to actual geography.

300m is VERY LITTLE??!?! Jeezus! I guarantee you he is a liar. There likely isn't 10b worth of Treasure Trail rewards in the game (maybe with 3rd age now, but still not likely) and 10b and 300m are numbers that aren't hard to pull out of nowhere.

How are you able to respond to respond to several posts at once? By the way, I am making an effort to take a break from this game, and I have almost at 60 farming, so I won't be farming at all for a while.

My personal goal is to either quit or get 1800 total. I'd also be willing to assume that many people will go for 90 slayer and only a select few will achieve it.
