I'd reccomend killing water elementals for vials and MTK for herbs. Put on 100% maples and 50% herbs for no money loss or you could switch them around and pay about 500 gp per unid.

i prefer to not use the rune and withdraw 10 iron and then all coal. Helps a bit.

Farming. I'm sorry, its just great. Also, slayer is a combat skill and prayer is way underestimated as a combat skill.
