  1. The ones who do that are possibly one of the stupidest and most foolish groups in RuneScape, then. I think that if they have enough money to buy a rare, or have a rare, they should know that the same objective of increasing rarity can be achieved simply by leaving it in their bank. Actually, they probably do just that, and the drop claims are lies. As for the videos? While some of those people may be just plain morons, I feel that the vast majority know that if people think Party Hats are just disappearing, they will panic and assume there is a much smaller supply than there is in reality. Short and simple: those videos are price manipulations. As are the claims of "I'm so rich I alch rares to raise the prices". They just do that for their own benefit, their own gain.
  2. But Jagex wouldn't want to cut out their main player base...
  3. Let's say 1m gp=$10 Now 1m gp used to be 33k essence. So 33k ess = $10. The macro-er makes a proftif of $10. Now 1m gp is 10k essence. So 10k ess = $10. But member's costs $5, so they make $5. Who gets the other $5? Jagex. They make money along with the macro-er. But lets say the macro-er mines Pure ess at the same speed as regular ess (which I think is true). So 33k ess = 3.3m. That's $33, and the macro-er profits at $28. Both Jagex and macro-ers made more money from this update, and I'm pretty sure when I say they must be ht eonly ones happy about it. Oh, did I forget to mention that regular ess still sells for 30 each?
  4. It still failed miserably at its "official" purpose, that is, stopping auto-ers.
  5. Pure Essence was proabaly the most illogical thing I've ever seen done to stop auto-ers (even more so than randoms!). Just the sort of thing I'd expect from Jagex.
  6. As we all know, Jagex is a company, and the goal of a company is to make money. This is reflected in their updates; geared typically towards the more numerous lower levels, higher levels are neglected. Two level 40's are worth more per month than a 126, and that is the sad truth. Discuss.
  7. ever heard of a term called plagarism? you have to buy ideas before you can use them, or else you go to prison. Free, small load times, targeting youth, being browser-based... That's not plagarism... Well, it wouldn't be plagiarism at all, and not just because it's misspelled. Plagiarism is "the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work". What you are describing would be copyright violation. No, it wouldn't. The terms I mentioned are not unique to one game, many have them. You can't claim RS has rights to them.

  9. Agreed. And no, Jagex doesn't seem to have the player's concerns as their number one priority - it seems mroe of a four or five, sadly.
  10. That article made me contemplate for the first time that Jagex might actually sell out. *shiver* The corporate world is a cold place.
  11. My "code". In contradicting rules, the higher rule wins (i.e., don't kill abyss runecrafters takes superiority over killing skillers if they are skulled and have good items). (1) DON'T PJ. (2) Don't kill abyss runecrafters. (3) Don't kill skillers, unless they are skulled and have relatively good items. (4) Always smite one-itemers, if possible. Hm. It seems that we would have different senses of honor. What could that tell you? That something honorable to another may seem dishonorable to another?
  12. I don't blame Andrew for wearing that mask...ever wondered why it covered his entire face? I'm pretty sure some of his unhappy cutsomers live in England... :XD: Anyway...I thought this was pretty funny. Like five people quoted the Jagex mod form other threads, and then along comes the mod and says the exact same thing. EDIT: Sorry for the small size. I'm quite bad at image hosting. :wall:
  13. Ever been to F2P Varrock? There are at least 20 autoers mining rune essence.
  14. Very well said, and it's the truth. EDIT: Sorry for the long quote, but I just had to put it all in...
  15. I remember once, a little while after seeds came out, a player mod was thieving, got a watchman, and lost connection. She was wearing a white party hat, a doctors' gown, a Legend's Cape, a glory amulet, a rune skirt (t), and white flowers. She died, and I clicked as furiosly as I could to get the party hat, but all IA got was the message "This isn't yours to take" spamming my chat box. I got a few hundred assorted seeds, 12k, and her bones., which I gave back (excluding the bones - I was near 47 Prayer). A level 47 in full green dragonhide got the party hat.
