  1. Im also a new rune ore miner and here's what I have to share: From my last mining trip I wore full green dragon hide armor and this was extremely useful because I was chased by a pker from lv 46 wild all the way to lv 16. Usually I would have wore nothing. Always go rune ore mining with u have 100% energy. Since most pkers are warriors u should be able to outrun them because they are usually wearing full rune and stocked with food. What also helped a lot was having lv 44 prayer and definitely lv 43 prayer is a must for any serious rune ore miner. I also carried a stock of 12 lobbies everytime i mine.
  2. From a F2P player, here is my opinion: Steel bars now sell for about 550ea at most now and rarely at 600ea. That would then explain why coal is no longer sold at 200ea. Coal usually sells for 180-190ea in large quantities whereas iron is roughly 90-100ea. As for gold bars, I would not recommend selling gold bars. I believe they sell for 250-300 ea but there is not a strong demand for them which can be seen the ores and bars market forum. Gold ores on the other hand sell for 300-400ea because members who have that smelting gauntlet receive extra smithing xp than without it.
  3. Throwing and items at noobs is not a solution. How about taking time and helping them with a quest? I personally have already helped three lower level players with the knight swort quest. Now two of them are my loyal coal miners and we continue to have a good relationship.
  4. this is another way just copy and paste the url and it will tell you ur ip. http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/
  5. Doh #-o That's not the some that I'm looking for =( good song though bubsa I guess the song is more of an old classic. hmmmm umm hmmm um um umm hmmm that's is to be the the opener with different variations. I don't believe there's any instruments either.
  6. What about this, if you call certain people derogutory(sp) terms like jew or the N word they get super pissed. Why is that? Also let's keep this civil.
  7. Here's my theory after some thought: As it was mentioned before a noob is basically an annoying idiot. Now nobody wants to be associated with being a noob because being a noob is degrading and of low status. Now for people to call others noobs it's like a free shot at the other person's self worth. That probably the reason why some people get so worked up. Playing RS for any length of time you're bound to take a few shots to the face by being called a noob whether legitimately or not. Now if you're a secure person, it bounces off and you can turn the other cheek. But over time it adds up and to the point where either you accept their opinion of you being a noob or you reject it. Most people reject it and end up in a flame war with the other person, going eye for an eye. I personally would like to see a karma system set up but to get one to work adequately would be a challenge.
  8. Try reading, people. Was the advert the one with the baby poster? And the music is with an echoing chorus, kind of going "Hmm-Hmm(higher)-Hmm(back to normal) - aaah oh ahhh eh - Hmm-Hmm(higher)-Hmm(back to normal) - Haa-haa-hee-haa-hoo"? Because if it is, I desperately want to know that song's title too! yes i believe that it is that one. don't remember if it was the baby poster. i think the echoing chorus was more of woooah--o wooah woah woah o woah. we're making some progress =D>
  9. The song that i'm looking for is more of a hum dingger. (sp) Basically it's a song where there are no words, well at least i don't think there are. The song consists of hmmm in varies tones. It is not the one by either the crash test dummies and definitely not by hanson. the song was recently in a commerical. Any help is appreciated and if anyone can help me find it then let it be known that they must be a great partner in the game of cranium!
  10. I don't understand why reasons 1 or 2 are against giving f2p the fletching skill. If the decision was left to you Zib, what's wrong with giving a skill that is fun and easy to level? Reason number 3 is about money so here's my take on it. Overall, I think that it's safe to say that more money is transferred into p2p than vice versa. Willow, yew longs, are only of use to p2p players, ie treasure trail stuff, rares, and etc. It sucks because of the fact that f2p can acquire wood but can't even use it. Therefore they have to either just drop it, light it (firemaking a useless f2p skill, in terms of money anyway), or sell it. I don't see why then wc is even an f2p skill. It is just a skill so that p2p can find cheap, bountiful labour?
  11. I'm currently at lv 84 miner who is lv 69 combat. My stats are: 56 atk 42 prayer (will raise to lv 43) 59 str 56 range 51 def 68 mage 58 hp My question is what are rune ore pkers often as? warrior? Is it possible for me to fight off or even pk an attacker with my magic? I don't have much if any pking xp since I stop playing at Feb 2002 and started 4 months ago. Shadow mentioned wearing full green hide, why wear that? Also u can't tele past lv 20 wild right? With the bone scepter, can u use it to tele to barb ville? I'll use a lv 3 scout, any details about how to use it effectively?
  12. If Jagex should ever to decide to give f2p fletching, would they also give f2pers the ability to smith arrowheads as well? If f2p gets fletching it would probably have a chain reaction in terms of economics. Wood prices probably increase since f2pers now have a use for the wood they chop instead of having to sell to p2p players. With the increase demand of wood, bots would definitely increase which could reduce wood prices to what they are now. It might actually profit Jagex indirectly to give f2pers fletching. Why? It comes down to bank space. F2p players would have to make room to store woods, feathers, strings, and arrowheads. My bank itself is already full and I will soon have to resort to sell off items and drop randoms to accomodate fletching. Some players may be frustrated to the point with their limited bank space that they may more willing to get members to store their fletching materials, along with their other possesions.
  13. As a lv 84 miner here are my 2 cents: I got pked just looking at the rune ores while I was lv 83. Was bored so I wanted to check out the rune ores. Also tele doesn't work pass lv 20 wild i believe. I would advise u not to only just mine addy. Usually there are other ores like coal and mith around so mine them as well. If that's the case I would also suggest you to use superheat (lv 43 magic) to make bars while mining. This will allow u to mine longer before u have to bank and it will save u time going to the furnace. It can be costly but you are saving valuable time by superheating. Also don't look at it as 2 mill xp for lv 85. Just look towards the xp for the next lv.
  14. Troob- AKA Trading Noob There are two forms of the trading noob. 1)sends out unwanted trades to other players. 2)trades with other players with useless items with hopes of acquiring more valuable items.
  15. Hi, just wanted to know the acceptable price range for both mith and addy arrows.
  16. Another reason being a member is worth the money. Too many idiots on free servers.
  17. I'd be happy to help out. I'm currently in the process of preparing 10 full sets of bronze armor. However I do not have enough bank space to hold the bronze stuff. Would it be possible to have a member of OoC message me to pick up the stuff immediately after i smith it? Also I can donate about 500 fire runes and possibly some blk wiz hats and tops. RSN: Spaneard
  18. yes, 232 people can be wrong when they never do any good thinking As a matter of fact Hitler was elected by a lot more then 232 people and I think we can agree they were pretty wrong. If you wanted a discussion about the mining petition, you should have posted IN that topic, not create another one. I made a separate thread for the following reasons. 1) It is more visible as a separate thread, thus making it more accessible and the arguements are grouped together. 2) The mining petition thread is already long enough, so much so that I'm sure people won't read my arguement against it 3) I have mentioned a few tips that I want people to read so i made my own thread.
  19. Glad to hear your arguement. If you encounter a power miner who basically takes all the ores for himself/herself you have two options, continue to compete with them and possibly frustrate yourself or look for a better mining opportunity. One of the recent updates made switching worlds much easier so it's an option that should be used. I know people don't share in the guild hence which is why i don't mine there. My mining etiquette is whoever lays their pickaxe on it first it's their rock to mine. However whoever violates this rule against me, I outmine them at every opportunity i get. Unfortunately mining coal is random and mining lv doesn't matter. The main problem here is not the game but the people who play the game. As long as you let me mine my rocks, I'll let you mine yours and everyone is happy. I'm a 81 miner so i know mining can be frustrating. I went from mining 1 to 72 back in the days of RSC and mining is so much easier now than it was then.
  20. im assuming ur f2p best advice is to look to buy from general store. it's not consistent but every rune counts. otherwise you can buy for 200-250 on f2p servers.
  21. sorry to hear that you got scammed n quitting. i personally don't believe in wasting money on rares. however looking back i should have at least made an effort to acquire them when they first came out.
  22. If by some miracle jagex decides to make such improvements then I'll have to adapt to them. Besides being a high lv miner and smither can get you some respect. It's not easy to do therefore it's an accomplishment to be proud of. If you high mining, then u better work for it. My only beef with mining is that it's so anti social.
  23. A side note: If you really want something you'll have to look for it. There are other options to the mining guild for coal. My favorite mining spot is secluded and it is usually empty even on a busy server. If it is busy I could simply hop onto another server to find it the same spot empty. From this spot I could run to and from the bank with stamina to spare. However you'll have to be a certain combat lv to use this spot. In about three months I went from lv 72 mining to currently 81 mining. Also my smithing has increased from lv 67 to lv 76.
  24. Only briefly looked at a few pages of the mining petition and decided to put up a decent arguement why no mining improvement should be added. Here are my reasons why: "but the mining industry is vastly growing throughout the Runescape community and these ores aren't enough. " If there is too much competition for the ores then you should either hop onto another server or find another mining spot. When I mine I am strongly territorial. If I am unable to dominate the mining spot then I'll just have to go else where. Now come on, the Hobgoblin Mine in the wilderness has more to offer than the Mining Guild! I think the Runescape staff should expand the Mining Guild, giving it more rocks, including iron; mith and adamant. If they give it Rune, the Rune should either have a quest to it, to be able to mine it. Or be in a seperate room, which needs 90+ Mining to enter or something. This is a case of reward vs risk. If the exact number of ores in the hobgoblin mines were introduced into a non pking environment, it would vastly affect the RS economy. The ore prices could drop due to the increase in supply and reduced risk involved. This would then make the hobgoblin mines in the wild utterly useless. THEY COULD ALSO CREATE A SMITHING GUILD. TO START OFF IT COULD JUST BE A SMALL ROOM LOCATED IN THE MINING ROOM. IT WOULD BE A SEPERATE ROOM THAT NEEDS, SAY, 70+ SMITHING TO ENTER. IT COULD JUST HAVE A FURNACE & ANVIL IN THERE. POST YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS ALSO PLEASE!! No because it will make things extremely too easy. For f2p you should use the al kharid furance and the anvils outside the west varrock bank. Also superheating is an extremely helpful shortcut but for f2p it's an expensive alternative. As others have mentioned earlier mining is easy. If it's too hard then you're doing something wrong. Also I imagine that most of those supporting the mining petition are the miners of intermediate levels. I am almost certain that if you ask any high lv miner about the mining improvements that they would strongly disagree. If by some fluke one would agree then they just shot themselves in the [wagon] by making it easier for others to achieve what they already have. In closing, you can hope and you can dream but there are some things you cannot change. You are left with a choice, either change your mining strategy or change the RS landscape to meet your demands. Since we are only players we can only change the way we play not the game we play. If you disagree, back it up with fact not with opinion because everyone has those.
