22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
It would very very easy to implement a way to run a check if players logged over 24 hours in the beta and reward an item if te check says yes. Another more interesting option would be to take xp eared from point A to point B, divide it by 10 and say that is your bonus xp limit.

22-Jul-2013 - RuneScape 3!
As observational as this is I fail to see why it belongs in the RS3 launch thread, seeing as we have 100% confirmation it is a separate update coming out like a month after RS3 Because this thread referencesthea new post that holds a video about runescape 3. And at the end of that video is a slight teaser of divination with concept art. That art therefore can be discussed here.

Has anyone looked at the concept art for divination shown in the rs3 video? I would imagine that the god energy shows up randomly like fire spirits web training firemaking. I would also speculate that there might be different types of energy to bring variation. There are three drawings shown: one showing three stages of the energy spawning, three stages of the energy des pawning from players collecting it and another with a player turning in the energy to a portal/doorway. Almost thinking divination will be like runespan.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Sent scroll 80 out at 98% ad with that I am finishing ports! Once that one comes back I will be setting my last two totems to jade statues. The I will be collecting resources to revert all four to different statues when player owned ports v2.0 comes.

Which might be the standard to their new PVM instance encounters. Either that or they might branch off and let you return to other instance encounters where the fight will obviously be longer or more extensive for legitimate teams.

Some people are saying even NIS isn't ready. I have a hard time believing that one.

"Why does everyone keep mentioning" no, nobody else mentioned this. Just one. Besides, it didn't have a special in RSC. Three people so far mentioned it - just to spite you. Oh wow I was thinking of early rs2...

Lmao XD you are really killing me.

We have dragon battle axes... Why does everyone keep mentioning this as missing? It's actually irritating me because it was such a renown item used to boost strength in RSC with its special.

Skills Pointless?
I actually disagree with you in the the whole point of why players train skills in end game. While it does boil down to personal enjoyment there is more to it. I would like to stray a bit from the point of conversation and bring up the new skill again. In past conversations with mod mark about the early development of divination, or at least highly speculated as divination, we were told we would be collecting for divination via other skilling actions. I have been wondering if divination might be like strange rocks. We could randomly gather some 'farming' godly energy. Maybe our faction that we aid will allow us higher grade perks depending on how much 'farming' godly energy we collect. Suppose through our farming runs we randomly collect a unit of energy per 1k farming xp. In turn this energy can be used something like dungeoneering tokens. Suppose that this energy could be bound into auras, trinkets, gear modifications?

Skills Pointless?
At the very end game skilling for money does become somewhat pointless. Though from a Completionists point of view they are still valued, but at a very limited setting. Players like me want to max out their gear and what not. After that my goal would be to get a substantial amount of PVM supplies banked for the next challenge. So with that said I would be inclined to fish Motown rocktails, farm by own torstols and respective herbs, etc. the absolute end game to me is preparation for the road ahead so I make off with a good start.

Or jagex could just widen the target zone and code it so vorago complies.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
2 scrolls left to completion.

03-Jul-2013 - Vorago: High-Level Boss Fight
Am I the only one disappointed by the drops from vorago? The dusts are floating around 1-1.5m and the rest is rubbish - even if you manage to get them.

Think I managed to get a better picture: Sadly it wasn't me, but the potential kill after that one I almost had him with the maul.

I've been floating around 20-25 fps on low settings... html5 is just not ready. I could honestly let them slide with EOC because its readiness was entirely on our backs. If we didn't speak up enough as a community then we must have been content and that simply was the case. The vocal minority was those stating EOC wasn't ready. Html5 on the other hand people have been consistently complaining about the low fps on low settings and people are constantly locked out due to poor performance. This one is on jagex right now and I can't see possibly how it is ready. All I can say for me about possibly pulling something useful out of this is the NIS being used with the java client. I am thoroughly impressed nonetheless for jagex taking on a giant duel challenge of HTML5 and NIS and doing the right thing in making a customizable interface. Frankly I have always felt that HTML5 was in an alpha stage when NIS was in its alpha stage. Now i particularly feel that NIS is in its beta moving into live and HTML5 should remain in its beta (despite feeling its still in its early beta). My two cents - and it should come with heavy concern considering how much most of you know I often give the benefit of the doubt.

Projected release at 1pm (2.5 hours from now).

Behind the Scenes: July
The point is not to make nex more profitable. The point should be to make nex a stepping stone to being a more learned and geared PVMer when stepping up to vorago. That exactly what GWD should be for nex as well. Nothing is ever as linear as we would like to think in runescape, but generally skill-wise its the case. You pretty much advance I skill going from KBD, KQ, GWD, QBD/GWDHM, KK, and then nex.

Skills Pointless?
Somewhere in the recent past... Probably around herblore habitats release - jagex stated they wanted to make skills matter and play a more significant roll (in the PVM context I believe). They didn't want people to feel that a truly maxed combat player was someone with 99 attack, strength, defense, constitution, ranged, magic, prayer, summoning and herblore. They wanted things like hunter, smithing, etc. to matter. I suppose try slightly accomplished a bit with ports and creating superior armor sets.

Behind the Scenes: July
I'm hoping that the announcement wednesday is them saying: Due to unforeseen troubles with html5 we are releasing divination pre-html5 live release. We are sorry that divinations release date is not set in stone.

Jagex 2012 Financial Report (Sort of)
Are you serious? The bare minimum is as long as you play I don't think jagex gives a hoot. The core of their business is appeal and that starts with word of mouth. If you are a dedicated player and are already appealed to the game then things like SoF and SGS become the next step.
