  1. Managed to complete the last three floors of abandons, reset for 55 prestige and do another warp. Sitting at 204k tokens and 1260k to 110 dung. I'm looking to get 110 before sunday morning because after than I pretty much got a 5 day stretch of no work to play runescape, dungeon and hopefully get at LEAST 111. Jagex stated that they are hoping to have the combat beta wrapped up released sometime in september so I'm thinking if I pull a level ever week I could potentially have 120 dungeoneering and maybe my completionist cape by its release. I am not too sure about this combat beta and my dging... I feel really torn. Maybe I'll treat it like I treated the runescape 2 beta - Something of a break from horrible xp rates while training my mid-level 80 combat stats at the brimhaven guard dogs (if you're old enough and remember where these dogs spawned I'll throw you a brand new-ish moldy cookie). Only this time it'll be me breaking from the depths of daemonhiem to test out the beta and get my combat skills up to par for its release.
  2. Congratulations on being the first to be confused by here-say and pondering. I wouldn't say he's confused just making his own guess at what it might be and considering ALL we have is here-say and pondering it's hardly confusing or misdirecting to consider any possible option. I read confusion in his post thats all I'm saying... Some people tend to take here-say as fact in runescape and its rather saddening.

  4. Yeah I read that forum mods posts stating that all levels of armor will be I the shop for free. They are calling it a beta shop and I'm willing to bet there might be multiple shop interfaces for weapons, armor types, potions and food as well. Returning to how magic spells will work the bits video stated it will be the same as duel wielding other class weapons. Instead of wielding duel wands (slightly redundant for a fantasy game) you'll have a chance to wield an offensive shield that comes in the form of orbs. These orbs increase castig times and damage output making the duel wield damage output equivalent to other style duel wield dps.
  5. Jagex being a company that is now a publicly owned company has to not only worry about their own product, but also the gains of their investors. Investors are only around to make money so it's in essence a tug of war to keep both sides happy without any one side looking like a pushover. Having investors appears to be a step up because in order for someone to want to invest in your company you have to show some very promising returns to get them in. Once that happens it pretty much means they have an even bigger cash stack to play with which results in a bigger and better game. The downside, everything has pros and cons, is that now jagex has to appeal to its investors, but will only do so in a fashion jagex feels fitting. I think the combat update coming shows as a very good sign to what the investors are doing for jagex. Sure the uglies came with the investors too, with SoF, but hey Utopia doesn't exist and if you think so the you're a fool. Honestly it's not something no one can really prove. The real issue I'm trying to bring forward is that the majority of players would rather say jagex isn't using its resources properly and they know what's going on and how to 'fix' or budget better than jagex's financial officers. Every time I see these arguments it reminds me of Jim Carey complaining to God in Bruce Almighty about how God does a lousy job. God ends up coming down, giving him his god-powers and Brice can't handle doing Gods job. That's the same thing going on in the arguments between players over jagex's financial concerns. They own the business and how to ru it better than any of you could ever know.
  6. Random comment... Flaming skull obtained! Love this item because it just makes me look way more different than most other players. I pretty much got 5 day week to no life dung coming this Monday. I plan on hitting 110 today and 111 or 112 through that weekend.
  7. @mad may necklace comment: you're welcome.
  8. Please stop whining. I'm not trying to be mean. The company only does this because a lot of years have gone by with item concepts players thought would be cool, but would never legitimately fit the lore and game world. Jagex also has to grow in size and generate money to pay its employees to make the game grow and these three avenues are great ways to help push their game out there. The best way to introduce them would have been through these methods. Look at the majority of the loyalty, sof and vanity items... Jagex has even I one of their posts or older video blogs stated that was the case. Heh for all you know the money is going directly into the pockets of some fat cats. Blindly believing Jagex is only using it to better the game is naive indeed. Don't argue something you don't have proof on. Also showing so much resentment doesnt help your argument. Jagex may have investors and shareholders who push to make the company "sell out", but if jagex loses money they lose money as well. Also the company has its own interests so its not like the investors are lording over them. Each share holder who invests is like a balloon keeping the business in the air. I'm willing to believe that jagex may have hit their limits of growth from being a private company and have moved on to welcoming in investors as outside the box thinkers.

  10. It wasn't supposed to look soo meleecentric as they've shown the same sort of options are going to be availible for all 3 classes. But youre right, though it could have been a useful structure for intra-class fights to build off. as for the healing thing, all they would have to do is take the rune and magic req off heal other, make it heal a bit more LP than you lose instead of a 1:1 ratio, put a cooldown and small prayer consumption on it then it would actually be useful. Food and potions would still be the source of the LP but the healer will be distributing the LP during combat to prevent KOs, keep people doing their roles and get a bit extra mileage out of the supplies if used properly. I disagree that the healer shouldn't have to spend runes in the heal other spells. One thing I think should be added to the games combat mechanic is making it so magic offense or summoning from gear would act as a magnifier to abilities. Abilities like heal other, bunyip healing and the bunyips swallow whole and unicorns healing scroll effects get magnified. Jagex could eve use healing familars to balance the damaged healers take from heal other. With the soon to be release of the combat beta and the ability to make/find orbs for offhand weapons i would imagine them having hugh magic offense stats which would be more suitable to this concept. I think doing this would make flasking summoning doses a viable option as well. Another thought would be to make healers a class sought after. I would like to imagine people spending money up front for a good healer. That might actually be a bad idea because the rs community is a cold and fickle one and could imagine people getting screwed over for doing a good job or it being an elitist community like dung is/was with keyers. I may actually work on a healing concept and add it to my blog where I keep concepts and ideas.
  11. I see where you are going, but not its honestly not their intentions. In the early video blogs a mod stated they wanted people to be able to perform as different class fighters. They wanted there to be ways where tanking was a viable option not just as a meleer, but as a ranger and mager. They also wanted DPSers to be distinct which they clearly showed with offhand weaponry and duel wielding. I am thinking their next hurdle is possibly making healing an ability to be performed whether it be from summoning or using food on a player outside of dungeoneering. The big change I think that needs to be brought to combat is breaking that healing barrier.
  12. much cheaper.... like maybe 60k a set.
  13. What armour is that? I'm not sure what armour looks like what after they changed them all a while back. royal dragonhide chest, royal dragonhide chaps, goliath gloves, steadfast boots.
  14. Could not honestly wait... I had no black armor, but I think royal dragonhide actual might have been better. Not bad... I feel the skull needs to be a bit darker than the flames to contrast between the two.
  15. I'm sure there will be oncoming mechanic inclusions. Also I am sure that players will get down methods for certain creatures that offer good semi-AFKable xp where you set X, Y and Z to your hotbar and hit 1, 2, 3 once cool downs pop or maybe 1, 2, 1, 2, 3...etc.
  16. Red flaming skull, red or black Goliath gloves, steadfast boots or black boots, and I'm thinking black armor or torva for the ghost rider look. You'd also require wearing a white colored whip. I feel there should be a amulet, but I'm not sure what... Maybe just an onyx or nomething at all? A gnome scarf would be a bit more biker-ish, but it wouldn't match.
  17. They have multiple colors to choose from by right clicking the item while wearing it. T also appears to be similar to te old majharrat chat head, but with a long fiery particle effect. Edit: pictures and animations play on runescape.wiki. Search for "flaming skull."
  18. Despite requiring you to live in certain locations and buying certain cards like usual I have to say this vanity item certain beats out the majority of the items that have been handed out as purely cosmetic. Time to don my best ghost rider outfit. Good job Jagex you've done well. *insert news post* Compliments of AKwaspRS:
  19. Not sure if it was my ISP, but I was lagging and c ing thought a whole dung floor just now. I managed to avoid getting kicked, but ended up diving at the very end of leaving the floor. Pretty angry...
  20. They stated that many monsters won't be bolstering the standard melee attack ad many of them will be getting secondary attacks. I'm guessing something like demons will gain magic attacks, skeletons and zombies will gain range attacks (unless lore-specific such as the Swan Song skeletons). I think this will actually be a bit more dungeoneering-like, but prove to be much more engaging.
  21. As if those werent high enough... And soulsplit is just amazing now too. I think we should all be interested in how soulsplit will work with the new combat. I would imagine about the same...
  22. Prayer was always always overplayed in content. I think jagex will still have a place for it, but ultimately I think they see that player skill is what should win out. They've provably realized that their capabilties of might end content were hindered by simple prayer mechanics. They made mention In one of their youtube blogs that they wanted to get into having players play roles such as dps, tanks and, in my opinion and foreseeable, healers. Prayer no doubt will have its place though.
  23. Why the hell couldn't I think of legacy?! That was also something I kept feeling in the back of my mind, but couldn't put it to words.
  24. If its too hard to code, they must have some shit programmers. Regardless of how good you're own programming skills may be, you're not an employee of Jagex or have any knowledge of how Runescape is coded. It should be easy for any half ass programmer though. The only way it would be difficult is if the code behind the scenes is a jumbled mess Submit your application then. It's always harder to practice what you preach. It's also harder to code something than explain the concept as well. Critic: "That movie sucked!" Director: "Well, why don't YOU try and make a better movie?" Critic: "Er, what? That's not my job!" To be brutally honest, I dunno if you program or whatever, but binding keys is like... 1st year hobbyist game dev stuff! And before you critique me, I'm not an idiot... I'll drop you a few lines! https://github.com/aaronbolyard/egoboo-wii http://commaexcess.com/algae/ & http://commaexcess.com/articles/6/vector-graphics-on-the-gpu plus more I can't be bothered to link to. I didnt critique you... Besides you are totally overlooking gameplay and game concept. Though you may be right just because it may be easy doesn't mean much in the sight of these two things. Jagex has an concept of game play they are trying to update and keep in line with their views. Jagex AI for NPCs is honestly SHIT compared to what they currently have going against them let alone what they are attempting to test and roll out. At the moment key binds and the combat overhaul are just a slight view of what lies beyond the future goals for the games complexity.
